Two characters I created to sharpen my art skills and test some of the filters in IbisPaint, but have since become two of my favorites. ^^ Maybe some day I'll make it into an actual story here on Webnovel and on Wattpad, but for now it's just a short story.

Scarlett Hamamuri was a high schooler by day, delinquent by night.
Dedicated to her gang and her violent reputation, she never fear death and was willing to walk the line to find the next rival party who dared stand in her way.
She never spoke a word about the rumors surrounding her, preferring to keep quiet to keep her identity a secret. This was both in public and on the streets when she reigned.
Whether she was reckless with her body or her heart, she continued with her life, faking happiness for those who wanted to see it.
She beat them all, as they stood by their battered bodies.
Her name was feared by all who challenged her to take her down. Her reputation and sordid history did nothing to dissuade her from taking on the challenge.
Then one day, someone came up to her.
Her body seemed to shimmer and shift in unnatural ways. It was very difficult to tell where her skin ended and the surrounding air began. The girl introduced herself as Lyra Hope, called herself "Alter", and was surprised that Scarlett could even see her.
An Alter is just a person, lost in the multiverse and unable to return home, instead a glitchy memory of the person they once were. That dark void she was bound to, she called home.
Lyra also stated that she was looking for someone. The only person she could talk to was so she could be sent back to her universe. She'd been stuck since childhood, forced to stay with a small group of people doomed to stay in that dimension forever.
Lyra decided to negotiate with her. There was a person she was searching for, the one who could help her return home. He was here, in this universe, in hiding.
If Scarlett could help her find this person, Scarlett could have some pretty special abilities, gifted by Lyra herself.
Scarlett grudgingly agreed to do this task, and now they walk around Japan.
Lyra looks around the streets. She admires the culture and marvels at the architecture. Scarlett is clearly annoyed, but she can't help but be intrigued by the sights. They eventually arrive at their destination and begin their task. She glitches briefly before speaking. "So, what is Japan like, Scarlett?"
Scarlett looks at Lyra with a slight annoyance. She doesn't want to talk to her, especially since it would make her look like a crazy schizophrenic maniac. She takes a deep breath and decides to ignore Lyra and continue on her way. She walks away with her head held high, determined not to give Lyra the satisfaction of a reaction.
Lyra, noticing her new friend's irritation, decides to stay quiet for now... Lyra's face softens as she stops speaking. Her heart ached for a moment, wishing she could ask more questions about the new world she was in. Scarlett spoke. "What are you here for?"
"I'm looking for Junichiro Yakahashi. He's spoken to us for years, but he can't listen to our responses. I'm trying to find him to restore our place in reality...so I can remember my name again."
Scarlett's cold blue eyes dart at Lyra for a minute. "You expect me to know this guy because I live in Japan?"
...Lyra thinks for a minute, then shrugs. "I didn't think Japan would be a very big place. It's just my gut feeling." Scarlett sighs and rolls her eyes. "Your gut feeling isn't enough to go on. We need more information. What part of Japan does this guy live in?"
Lyra looks sheepish. "I don't know. He never specified..."
Scarlett sighed angrily. "Well, your lack of information isn't gonna help us." Lyra shrinks back. Scarlett shakes her head in frustration. "We'll just have to figure it out on our own then." Lyra offered to look for more information, but Scarlett refused. Scarlett's determination was clear - she was determined to find the answer, no matter the cost, so she could reclaim her status as Yokohama's most formidable female delinquent. And that started with finding this guy...Junichiro Yakahashi.
