The world seemed to be moving in slow motion. One second you could hear a pin drop, and the next second all hell breaks loose in the clearing of Sector Seven.
Shadows and flames ripple out from my palms. I hear shouting but I don't know who it's from, I drown out the recognition of anyone's voice as I stare into the eyes of this demon woman and watch as the rogue werewolf she sits atop bares its teeth at me. As I raise my hands, shadowflame dancing at my fingertips, she smirks ever so slightly, and then she jumps and the werewolf pounces.
Shadowfire breaks free of my palms and wraps its deathly hands around the werewolf's neck. It fights back as hard as it can, snarling, and trying its hardest to lunge at me with his razor like teeth. I watch as the realization comes across his face that he never stood a chance.
The werewolf's body goes up in flames as I suffocate and strangle him until there is nothing left except a black mark on the ground where my shadowfire left its mark.

I turn to my left as the noise from the battle returns to my ears and I smell the sweet, sweet smell of bloodshed. I see Tobias facing off with the demon woman from earlier, both have their teeth bared and knives slashing in the air. It appears that others have come out of the woodworks to play. To my right Bane is in his werewolf form, at least 6'0 at the withers, fighting another werewolf alongside Azalea and Opal. Not too far behind them Roth and Eden fight side my side what appears to be another demon.
Roth's powers are unlike any I've ever seen as he rips roots and vines covered in thorns out of the ground and some ripple from his hands as he wraps the demon in his earthy grave attempting to suffocate him. I come up beside Roth and let my shadows rip from my palms and add to the pressure suffocating this demon man. As his eyes begin popping and bones begin breaking and I hear a shot. My head snaps to the right to see Eden, a pistol from the case of weapons in her hand and holsters on each shoulder, accompanied by a belt full of ammunition. As Roth and I held the demon prisoner, she had taken her chance, a perfect, clean shot at the center of the heart; the only way to kill a demon.
Roth pulled back the roots and vines, and I took the liberty of burning the demons body to ash, nothing left but a black mark upon the earth.
"What a shot you are little Eden," I said. She scoffed, "Call me little Eden ever again and I'll shoot you in the leg." I appreciated her sense of humor.
Tobias comes up with the rest of my newfound family, "Are you three making jokes while the rest of us do all of the heavy lifting?" That earned him a dirty look from both Roth and Eden.
Bane licks his chops in response and in the blink of an eye he's changed back into his human form which somehow seems even more domineering than his werewolf form. "Always a shame to have to kill a brother, even if he was rogue. But enough talk, we've wasted enough time as is and look where that's gotten us?" Azalea nods in agreement, the blood sprayed across her face matching her fiery red hair and eyes. A murderous creature indeed.
With that, Tobias and I somehow ending up in the front of this poorly assembled group, lead the way farther into Sector Seven, and farther into the danger that awaits us.
