Chapter 1 - Killer of Earth

"What's the matter with you? "

Abel's voice reached David and shook his shoulder. David woke up like a dreamer.

Wherever there were Buddhist sounds or Zen songs, the ancient temple was still covered with a thick layer of dust, which others just seemed to have not heard.

"Is it really Big Thunder Sound Temple?"

He whispered to himself how what he had heard and seen, though brief, had been so real, and he thought about it in a moment of ecstasy.

David stared at the ancient bronze lamp in his hand, but there was no special feeling any more.

There were some patterns engraved on it, which was simple and natural, plain and unremarkable, without the slightest abnormality.

"futon!"

A male classmate retrieved an old futon from a pile of ashes, but time had not been able to erase it. Soon, there is a female classmate from the thick dust to find a red sandalwood beads, no damage in the wheels of history rolled down, blown dust, still have light luster.

At the SAME TIME, KADE FOUND HALF A BROKEN WOODEN FISH IN THE DUST in front of the stone Buddha, on which were engraved three Bodhisattvas, solemn or compassionate, lifelike.

At this moment, David thought a lot, if this is really the Legendary Thunderclap Monastery, then it is a place abandoned by the gods, and all the unearthed utensils should be extraordinary.

As if he had kicked something, Wang Ziwen made a metal tremulous sound and pushed away the dust in the corner to reveal a broken bronze bell the size of a hand, with one of the bell walls missing.

"Bong!"

When he shook the bronze bell, the melodious sound of the bell sounded like the sound of Buddha, which made people calm down.

David's thoughts were interrupted by the bell, and he could not help looking at the bronze bell, which was engraved with clouds and patterns, with Zen in its simplicity and Buddha rhyme.

Abel muttered softly. He entered the temple first, but found nothing. He was out of luck.

Almost at the same time, Anna found half of the jade Ruyi at the foot of the stone Buddha.

She wiped away the dust, and the crystal clear residual jade suddenly turned into a bit of brilliance.

The temple looked empty, but several people found artifacts under the dust, and others sprang into action to look for them.

David did not care about those artifacts.

The only spotless, intact and immortal bronze ancient lamp in the ancient temple was in his hand, which was obviously incomparable with other artifacts.

"I don't believe I can't find anything," muttered Abel.

"Look carefully here and put away whatever you find."

David handed the ancient lamp to Abel and asked him to search with the light.

Although he could not see anything unusual about these broken Buddha instruments for the time being, he knew that if there were gods in the world, these things would be extraordinary.

David handed the copper lamp to Abel temporarily and walked out of the ancient hall towards the Bodhi tree in front of the temple.

At this point, he has been out of the original fixed mode of thinking, temporarily convinced himself that gods really exist.

Since The ancient temple is The Thunderclap Monastery, so accompanied by the bodhi tree can not miss it.

The Bodhi tree is a sacred tree of Buddhism.

According to the Book of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty, the Buddha told Ananda that there are three kinds of objects that should be worshiped:

the bone, the Buddha and the bodhi tree. Because the Buddha was cultivated under the Bodhi tree, seeing the bodhi tree is like seeing the Buddha.

This withered old tree was as thick as a dragon.

Even six or seven men could not wrap its trunk around, and its trunk was hollow.

Only six green leaves hung from a dead branch, which fell to two or three meters above the ground.

The green leaves are glittering and translucent, as clear as green agate. Regardless of whether this ancient tree is related to Buddha or not, the mere presence of six emerald leaves is enough to show that it is remarkable.

David went under the branch and looked at the ancient Bodhi tree carefully.

The huge branches almost completely pressed against the top of the ancient temple.

If it was covered with leaves, it would be possible to imagine a scene that would cover the sky.

At that moment, David noticed that six bright green leaves had faint glimpses of green glow, a few of them drifting toward the distant five-colored altar, and most of them sinking into the roots.

The green glow flickers in spots, the shape is like silk, constantly spilling out from six green leaves, making people feel a breath of life, there is endless vigorous vitality in the circulation.

David crouched down and peeled away the earth at the root of the tree to see what was underneath that could hold the green glow of the Bodhi leaves.

Under the earth, he did not see anything divine, but only found a bodhi seed, no light shining, no light  gathering, no glow wreathing, grey and common color, if you do not pay attention to it, it will be mistaken for a clod of dirt.

The only thing that makes it special is its size. While an ordinary bodhi seed is no bigger than a fingernail, this grey one is the size of a walnut.

David wondered if the green glow from the linden leaf was absorbed by it. After observation of a moment, he saw the filamentous green glow flowing down and disappearing within three inches of the linden seed.

Although it is not seen to absorb the essence of the BODHi leaf, it almost certainly causes something.

David held this bodhi seed in the palm of his hand. After careful observation, he was amazed.

The natural patterns on this dark and ordinary Bodhi seed were connected together, and it turned out to be a compassionate Buddha.

Gray Buddha figure, simple and natural, there is a faint Zen rhyme out.

"The Buddha picture made by nature, is it true that two thousand and five hundred years ago, Sakyamuni was enlightened because of the Bodhi tree? "

The bodhi tree, also known by other names, is the tree of wisdom, consciousness and thinking.

According to legend, the Bodhi tree can unlock the divinity of people and realize their own bodies.

David held the bodhi seed high above his head to meet the six green leaves.

The green glow spilled out much faster and the vibrant breath became stronger.

All of them concentrated on the Bodhi seed, of course, the brightness still disappeared within three inches.

"boh~"

There was a slight sound, and one of the glistening linden leaves gave off its last glimmer of green, then shattered, turned to ash and floated down.

At this point, David finally became convinced that the bodhi seed seemed ordinary, but it was very special, and put it away.

At that moment he noticed that there was a lot of powder on the ground, just like the ashes of the linden leaves.

"Could it be that all the linden leaves disappeared in this way?"

David was quite surprised.

The bodhi seed with the natural Buddha image made him feel more important than the ancient bronze lamp that always accompanied the stone Buddha.

There were still five green leaves on the Bodhi tree, but they were not as bright and translucent as before, and they were much dimmer.

David did not pick them off, but harvested only one bodhi seed, because he did not want to attract other people's attention.

While no one had come out of the temple, David left the Bodhi tree and went back to the temple. At the moment, eight more people have found Buddhist artifacts, all of which are different. Liu Yunzhi unexpectedly found half of the gold pestle from behind the stone Buddha.

Although it had been buried in the dust for many years, it was still shiny and made people feel heavy and condensed.

If one end was not damaged, it could be called a perfect and powerful casting masterpiece.
