"So you got it down yet?" I asked as I sit on the ground, watching Aristia try to get the hang of the fireball her Pyromancer Flame gave her.
"I still haven't got the total hang on it but I think I can use it on fighting that demon." She answered as she threw another fireball at the ground below the Asylum.
"Fascinating. So this is Pyromancy huh?" Oscar muttered in amazement as he watched Aristia create another fireball.
"Ohoho Oscar my friend." I grabbed his attention. "Wait until you see my sorceries in action. I'm gonna make you see an actual murder once we fight that demon."
"With how confident you seem with you sorceries and with Aristia being a seer, I don't think we need to worry about the demon." Oscar spoke.
"I never really asked but, where did you two hail from?" Oscar asked as he checked his sword for any problems.
"Well, that is a good question. We both came from Earth, a place far far away. I don't even think we can return." I answered his question.
Home. I know I'll never be coming back to Earth. And there's a pretty good change Aristia too isn't. Why go back to a monotone and boring life when you can fight demons and make a pitiful temporary solution to save a fallen world? Well that did not sound so lovely but you get the point anyways.
"Alright! I'm good to go." Aristia said as she brandished her axe, Pyromancy Flame on her left hand.
"Well, let us fight this demon then, shall we?" Oscar took the lead as we walked over to the fog wall. We had cleared the place already, twice actually. First we killed the undeads, planning on killing the demon. Then we realised there's a bonfire just below. So we went down and rested there for a bit. Then came back and killed the respawned undead before preparing.
"I'll need roughly 10 seconds to prepare my spell. Just distract the demon while I do that. Also, fair warning, my spell's destructive prowess is unknown even to me so please get away from the demon as far as you can when I say so." I told them as I brandish my catalyst. It's just the common one you get in the game as starting gear. I'm going to start learning how to cast spells without catalysts as it'll come in handy when we get to Firelink.
"Hearing you say that makes me even more scared of what you're gonna cast. It's not radioactive isn't it?" Aristia asked.
"You don't have to worry about growing a third arm." And with that, we entered the fog wall. Well Aristia did, I just followed. Then the fog wall formed back once we all crossed.
"That is one ugly little shit." I heard Aristia comment from beside me.
We're in the platform just above the demon. The said ugly little shit that is not really little but is ugly and shit is currently staring at us from below, big ass hammer on hand. Disgusting fluid that might be saliva flowed down the demon's yellow sharp teeth.
"Aristia, plunge." Oscar said before he jumped towards the demon, sword held on both hands, aiming for a stab.
And he landed, sword stabbing deep into the demon's shoulder, earning us a loud roar of pain and anger. Before the demon can do anything about Oscar though, Aristia had already jumped and plunged her axe into the demon's eye, definitely blinding it.
"Take the plunge, you won't die." I shook my head with a small smile as I also jumped down, stabbing my small dagger into the demon's back. I quickly removed the weapon and sheated it on my waist, holding my staff and running towards the front of the gate. The landing would definitely put my old self into comatose, but I'm an undead now so I only almost broke my back.
"Oscar! Aristia! 10 seconds!" I yelled at them as I prepared to charge my spell.
Oscar and Aristia had separated themselves from the demon, Oscar with his shield raised acting as a tank and Aristia with her Pyromancy Flame became the main damage dealer.
Specks of blue formed at the tip of my staff that swirled together, forming a glowing orb of blueish white. The orb grew larger and I started to shape it. The orb changed size into a long, speary shape. It grew larger and longer and once it reached a certain size, I slowly made it spin.
"Five seconds!" I yelled at the two who was dodging around the demon as it let out a roar.
A 5 meter long spear of blueish white formed above me. Not enough. I made it spin faster and faster and faster until it starts to let out an ominous hum. This should be enough.
"Get out of the way!" I yelled at the two as I aimed the spear at the demon.
Oscar and Aristia quickly got behind me as I let go of the spinning spear. The demon did not get to react before the spear shot right through it, no resistance at all. A massive hole was formed at its chest as it turned into mist. However, the spear is still going.
It pierced the wall behind the demon and drilled right through it, causing the wall to collapse. Looks like we don't need the key to the huge door afterall. Speaking of the door, it's blasted to god knows where. The spear just tore through everything it came across, flying off into the distant mountain.
"By the gods..." Oscar was speechless. Aristia is too. Even I am speechless. The spear left us a ruined Asylum, well, more ruined that it already was, and it still haven't stopped.
In the distant mountain, a titanic explosion occured. A slight shaking of the ground followed. From here we can see the tip of a mountain fall off, crashing to the ground, forming a massive cloud of dust.
"I think I overdid the spell just a bit."
~~~~~~~~~~
"Arthur, that spell of yours, did you make it yourself?" Oscar asked as we soar through the skies, held by the claws of a huge crow. The crow only had two legs so we had to share. Oscar was alone in one while me and Aristia, having light armor, was held in the other.
"You can say that. I made a variant of the Great Heavy Soul Arrow that changed the shape of the arrow into a spear. What I did to that demon was just a reinforced and charged version." I answered, enjoying the cold wind going against my face.
"I'm not a sorcerer myself but I never saw anyone else cause that much damage with a single spell. You must be quite famous in the sorcerer society." Oscar followed.
"Heh, I wish. I just picked up sorcery on the Asylum, did some fuckery with it and then the demon." I answered.
"To be able to have so much progress in so little time. You had to be a genius." Oscar said. I do appreciate the compliment.
"Both of you, look!" Aristia pointed at the front.
I looked and there I saw it. Lordran. Hollows are littering the place. Everything looked so ruined and old. Any elegance the place used to have is gone, covered by the effects of the curse.
"Lordran." I heard Oscar mutter.
The crow cawed before taking a dive. There we saw Firelink Shrine, the grassy place looking much more beautiful than in the game. The crow dropped us at the bonfire, each of us having different landings. Oscar kneeled at the ground, Aristia fell on her butt, and as for me, I managed to stay upright for two seconds before falling face first.
"Fuck, my legs are numb." Aristia said, flexing her legs.
"I think I froze my face." I rubbed my face, feeling the coldness still settling on human skin.
The three of us went to the bonfire and sat around it. At the corner of my vision I saw the crestfallen knight, sitting in front of the pillar, a gloomy aura of apathy sorrounding him. I gestured to the others, and we all went towards the person.
"How peculiar. Three people at the same time. The old crow must be exhausted." The crestfallen knight spoke with his usual tone full of uncaring.
"Definitely. I'm just glad it didn't drop me midway." I shrugged.
"So, one of you must be the Chosen Undead eh?" Crestfallen started.
"I am. Don't mention about the bells. I know that already. One above and one below. I'm a seer." Aristia interrupted.
"There are two Bells of Awakening?" Oscar muttered.
"Can't I just blast the gates leading to Sen's open?" That thought was immediately discarded as it meant not being able to see spidergirl bewbs.
"Am I to assume you are the Chosen Undead, then?" Crestfallen shifted his gaze to Aristia.
"Yes. I'm the Chosen Undead and I'll end this curse." Aristia said, resolutely.
"I'm here to help her on the journey ahead. They saved me from the Asylum." Oscar followed.
"I'm the unreliable gag character that definitely must be a self-insert of an author somewhere." I ignored the weirded gazes I received. What, I'm not wrong.
"What he means is he's a massive cunt. Ignore him, he has a thing for sweaty armpits." Aristia said before heading to collect the hidden items in the shrine.
I just shrugged. I don't know how she knew but I had a thing for armpits. Can't resist them.
"Anyways I'm gonna go down. See ya' later." I waved at them before heading down the shrine.
I walked down the stairs into the level where the Firekeeper was at. I want to see her, but at the same time I don't. Seeing someone on her condition makes me irritated as fuck.
Still, curiosity got the better of me. My reluctant eyes found her, alone, behind bars. Her face down, dressed in dirty clothes. She exuded the aura of someone who had given up. Seemingly hearing my approach, she lifted her gaze.
"Hello." I greeted, tone slight down.
With a sigh, I approached the cell, sitting in front of her.
Her eyes shone in surprise. She cannot talk, but her eyes conveyed everything she wanted to say. Those eyes are lonely. A want for a friend.
I tore my gaze away. I hefted my palm up, and into the cell. Seeing my action, her eyes closed in fear. Still, I didn't stop.
And my palm settled on her head.
I patted. Like an older brother does.
I don't know if she's older than me, I'm just 23 after all. Still, who cares about age? She's my little sister now, fuck everyone that wants to state otherwise.
Imouto, get.
Now I just need to get her out and restore her body.
At that time, Dark Souls: Imouto Edition will be a thing.
I ignored her wide eyes and stood up. I patted the dirt off my pants and went down another set of stairs. This time, I'm heading to the lift. There's a Sorcerer below, I'll ask him about some stuff.
"Wait, Aristia didn't answer if she has the Master Key or not." I backtracked.
Just as I climbed the final set of stairs, I saw Aristia running. After her were two skeletons wielding swords and shields. She saw me and started yelling.
"Deal with them!"
I raised my catalyst and aimed at the skeletons. I wonder how Homing Arrows works. I should really ask the Sorcerer in New Londo that I forgot the name of.
"Soul Bolt." Yes, I finally got a decent name.
Anyways, the eight bolts I made shot at the two skeletons, each taking four bolts to the face. They crumbled into pieces, and Aristia can finally heave a sigh of relief.
"Damn, nice aim." She patted my head after reaching me. Being taller than her, she had to stand on tiptoes.
"Stop, I'm older than you." I shrugged her away.
"Should I call you onii-chan then?" That question was genuinely curious.
"Shut up you incest-loving asshat. Go get back your human form. You look like literal cow dung." I flicked her forehead. "Also, do you have the Master Key?"
"I only have the Old Witch Ring unfortunately." She shook her head, hands covering the place where I flicked her. She would look cute if she's not hallow. But eh, even if she's not I won't care. I think.
"Well, go reverse hallow then. Your current appearance disgusts me." Then I went to the lift.
-
"So you forgot your name?" I deadpanned at the sorcerer-smith dude at the cell before the broken stairs.
"Yes." The unnamed dude answered.
"Oh." I nodded.
"Anyways what do Sorcerers use to cast spell? What do they use as fuel?" I asked my first sorcery related question.
"We sorcerers use the power of our own soul. Don't worry though, you won't have any problems even if you empty your soul power. Just rest at the bonfire and you'll be back to normal." I received my answer which is painfully simple.
"I don't have any limit on how much I can use spells. Well, not like I reached mine yet. But I summoned a hundred and I can still do another thousand more."
I received a blank stare.
"I'm serious."
I received a shocked stare.
"W-what? Are you serious? The most powerful of sorcerers recorded could only do 60 at most!"
"Oh, plot convenience then. Next question, can Sorcerers freely shape their own spells?"
"Ahem! About that... It's unheard of. But research had proven that it is possible. Still, it would require an immense amount of brainpower and soulpower. Not to mention the concentration needed will turn a human's mind to mush."
"Oh, plot convenience again. Last question, can I use sorceries without using catalysts?"
"Same answer as before. Immense brainpower and soulpower. Just add an ungodly amount of concentration."
"Oh, so I can do it. Alright bye."
