Mark has now spent three more months inside the Manor in solitude, he did not use the two contracts yet as he felt it was not yet needed. He did use the ten random minion rolls and he got was indeed random. It was three chickens, two rabbits, a grumpy looking cat, another bastiladon but an infant, two skeletons and luckily a Knight Golem (Living Armor).
Over the past three months some customers did appear but they were all just rich men who wanted to collect weird stuff like the Eyeball jar he received from one Bronze Chest. He got 200 gold coins for that which was paid with $20,000.00 by that man with a check that the system automatically withdrawn. Mark knew some rich people were weird as he too had his quirks before when he was a teenager. He never went for the young classmates of his but to the mature teachers he fancied.
He did earn an earful from his parents about that but he didn't change, mature women were indeed his taste. But he did have several other relationships that he practically dated almost every type. Almost because he was nearly fooled by a 'girl' with a more larger equipment than his, he was piss drunk that time but he sobered up in a second when he saw the package in the men's room after taking a dump.
There was also a weird old Chinese lady who was looking for a wedding gift for her grandson, who was a DnD fanatic. She didn't have money to spend but she somehow saw this shop and went in. This was when Mark realized he can also charge for other things as payment, what he got from the Grandma was generations of experience in craftsmanship.
The system told him to ask the grandma to tell stories of how she learned to make various crafts from bamboo weaving, vinegar, soy sauce, Ancient Paper Making, ink, wood crafting, wine, calligraphy and many more. Being a lonely grandma she was excited somebody had interest in hearing and learning of ancient crafts her family used to make. Children these days tend to like other things but she still loved her grandson.
Mark thought there would be a problem in language communicating but thankfully the system auto-translates for him. They spent almost half a day talking of her heritage much to the obliviousness of the old woman she talked and talked not noticing Mark serving tea for her by taking things out of thin air. Before she left Mark gave her a box containing the short sword as well as some basic leather armor that he bought from the general shop.
Mark spent some gold coins because what he got from the old woman was so priceless, all her story telling formed a skill book which became the payment for the purchase. The old woman was about to refuse but Mark insisted, which she accepted thanking him. She was happy now that she has a present for her grandson's birthday.
Mark since then learn all the skill books he has and has been practicing them from time to time. Now has Basic Forging lvl. 5, Basic Swordsmanship lvl. 6 and Intermediate Craftsmanship lvl. 3. Out of all of them Mark had trouble leveling up the last one because it was an intermediate Skill book containing the generations of knowledge that the old woman has told him.
He now grinded them during his spare time after exercising, he now built a farming area in the backyard tended by the two skeletons under the leadership of Tongu, the giant child. The two bastiladons were together with the older one guarding the younger one closely. Rabbits have started to populate the area as well as chickens. Three months was enough for them to become dozens, now at least Mark doesn't have to worry about food.
He also had the Golem Knight stand outside his Manor to deter people from doing stupid things in front. There were some thieves that dared to enter his manor before but luckily a group of patrolling soldiers passed by and caught them. He was informed that day by the guards about what happened. Thus he now had the Golem stand guard outside.
The two skeletons also tirelessly worked night and day tending the fields. Mark has less than 300 gold coins left but it was worth it as he had bought some basic tools he needed in forging and crafting. Being trapped here not knowing his inevitable fate stressed him out somehow so he spent most of his time distracting himself by crafting many things.
He now has a complete workshop to work on made by him personally, he also wandered around the backyard and realized it was a large place with its own working biomes. There was a waterfall in a cliff by the side of a mountain fifteen kilometers away from the manor. So he built his workshop there because having a workshop connected to a water wheel is very convenient.
Sure it must be a hassle to walk back in fort but Mark discovered a Host privilege that the System didn't tell him. It was that he could teleport anywhere inside the manor at will including the area around the backyard. Which made him able to discover the entire backyard, that reminded him very much of the Ark survival space Biomes.
It was a Large Island with mountains, rivers, forest, deserts, swamps and even snowing mountain peaks. But without the dinosaurs, it was just a large island with him alone alongside a few creatures. He almost had a mental breakdown at his situation but he still was able to calm down in the end.
So when he found an Iron ore deposit he started making many things, basic forging and intermediate craftsmanship gave him knowledge of tools needed and their specifications. It took him one month to make all facilities needed to have a working workshop. He also brought some rabbits in pairs around the island to make them propagate more. He kept the Fat Rat, Grump Cat, Goofy Pug, the not-sick-anymore horse and the bastiladon close to him.
He made many things from Palm bark like some sort of straw clothing for the few beings he handled. He was surprised that some of them gained improvements in stats from what he made. Like the skeletons who now worked harder in the fields. Tongu was happy with the straw clothes as Mark felt bad that letting this child wear the same clothes every day.
The Bastiladons were given a large shed with straw mats to sleep in. the Pug received a straw hat, the Rat was given a straw shirt and a cat post for the grumpy cat. Mark also made many facilities like toilets for Giants and large beings. He felt that since it was the 90's in the DC and Marvel universe that it did not need much interfering from him. He now focused on his plan to build an organization loyal to him in the Old World.
Currently Moussilon is just a waning Dukedom and Mark has about forty years until the Peasant revolution faction wide. He knew some nobles would cause some scandals that the peasants would find un-chivalrous, some also were discontent with the system of this kingdom. And Mark would have his opportunity then, now he has to endure years of solitude preparing for that day.
As the sound of metal rings in his ears he thought of ways to gain solid foothold in this world. He also wanted to see the famous beautiful elves, High Elf or Dark Elves otherwise. He smiled with a knowing look as he knew deep inside he has some weird taste for women, and remembering there was two mature and supposedly very beautiful women here made him want a challenge.
Namely Alariel and Morathi, not sure if those rumors of Morathi being her son's lover but he remembered Malekith was like a Darth Vader with burned parts thus has no equipment for it. But he must be strong first before he tries to do that cause it would be very suicidal, he must be strong to even ignore the whispers of the gods of this world. His thought just now might have called the attention of Slaanesh to him, he didn't want that.
Six months from now he might just start his plans once he gets the Enhancement Serum. Now he must prepare as his mind thought of making production lines for many things. Though not driven by electricity, he could still make lots of stuff as long as he had time. Because every time his skill level up he gets new knowledge to learn automatically.
