Chapter 9 - Forest Training

FOREST TRAINING

A young man in a blue robe stood straight on top of the city wall. The bright early morning sun shines on his almond face with a gentle wind flaunting his hair. He placed both hands on his back whilst his gaze focused on the horizon.

"Why did you need a sword?" Sir John climbed the city wall with a long sword in his hand.

Al Casendra didn't bat his eyes at him. With a blank expression, he kept his gaze fixed on the horizon. When Sir John noticed the unresponsiveness of the prince, he shook his head slightly and handed the sword to Al Casendra.

Receiving the sword, Al Casendra waves it slightly and hangs it on his waist. He looked at Sir John and gave him a parchment. Seeing the parchment, Sir John raised his brow and collected the parchment, looking into Al Casendra. Observing Sir John's piercing gaze, Al Casendra didn't avert his gaze and stared back into his eyes.

After staring at Al Casendra's eyes for a moment, Sir John's hand trembled. He took a step back, averting his gaze. He took a deep breath and looked at the horizon. His chest rises and falls. 'What eyes is this!' He cried in his heart. 'This is not the gaze of a young man. It... it.. ' He shuddered. When he recovered from his initial shock, he looked sideways. He couldn't find Al Casendra. He widened his eyes and muttered.

"Where the hell is the prince?"

Sir John tried to search for Al Casendra, but he couldn't find his whereabouts. He sighed. "The prince is behaving more strangely." He looked at the parchment in his hand and opened it. After reading the content, His jaw slackened. He froze on the wall for a couple of seconds. He blinked twice and rolled his eyes in their sockets.

"What!" He screamed, flinging the parchment away.

The few men on the wall looked at Sir John with their brows raised. They looked at each other, shook their heads, and continued on with their work. Sir John didn't care about the strange gaze directed at him. He looked at the ongoing project in front of the city gate and rubbed his temple.

"The Prince has gone crazy." He clenched his fist inside his robe. "Digging a pit of ten meters in front of the wall is getting harder as hell, and the people are already complaining." But now he wants the depth and width to be 50 meters. Fck!" He complained, veins protruding from his forehead.

"Get me Roy and Wendy." He shouted. 'Humph, they will be the ones to handle this one. '

Meanwhile, Al Casendra was on the western part of LonFall Pass. The wind whistled past his ear while his hair blew backwards against the wind. Some strands of hair were stuck on his face. However, he didn't care. His somewhat deep blue eyes focus on the deep forest ahead.

After a few minutes, Al Casendra entered the forest. The giant trees with broad leaves and long branches block the sun from reaching the ground. Shrubs and numerous flowers lie under the giant trees, leaving little path to walk on.

Al Casendra inhaled deeply and a light smile crept onto his face. Suddenly, the back of his left hand glowed slightly. Whoosh. A white dot flew out of his chest. Groar. A white beast appeared in front of Al Casendra, showing her sharp teeth.

Seeing this, Al Casendra chuckled. "I know. I know. But here we are. Next time, I will release you more often. ' He moved closer and rubbed her thick fur with a smile. The sharp glint of Snow's eyes deemed, making a little sound.

'Now let's go hunting. Let's see how powerful you're. '

Quickly, Al Casendra and the snow depart deep into the forest. No one knew how big the forest was. Previously, many mages had tried to venture deeper into the forest, but none had returned alive. If Al Casendra was just a normal human being, he wouldn't have ventured into the forest alone. But now, he was in the novice realm.

Suddenly, a giant red sea centipede jumped in front of Snow and Al Casendra. The centipede was covered in red, like a sea with his multiple legs. It waves his many legs with a sharp spinster going for Al Casendra's head.

What!

Al Casendra froze for a split second. When he recovered from his initial shock, Snow was already attacking the centipede furiously. Observing this, Al Casendra furrowed his brow and a sharp glint appeared in his eyes. 'How dare you attack us?'

He unsheathed his sword and dashed toward the two beasts. 'Ice bullet.' He swings his sword. It covered the sword in ice and attacked the side of the centipede. Without looking at Al Casendra, the red sea centipede swung one of his legs and parried the attack.

Bang!

It forced Al Casendra to take a couple of steps backward. He widened his eyes when the centipede spat out a red liquid from its mouth. Snow barked, opened her mouth, and sent out an ice attack.

Boom!

The attacks collided, sending shock waves everywhere. Observing that their attack didn't injure their enemy, Snow and the red sea centipede pounce on each other. Al Casendra noticed the battle for a moment and squinted her brow. I'm a beast master. I must work together with my beast. ' He thought and twisted his lips.

'Snow. Attack it from the left while I attack it from the right. '

Immediately, Al Casendra dashed toward the red sea centipede from the right and raised his sword high in the air and swung it furiously. Watching her master attack the beast from the right side, Snow immediately jumped to the other side of the beast and attacked it with an ice attack.

Boom!

The red sea centipede shook, taking a couple of steps backward, making an indistinct sound. 'How dare you think you can defeat us?' Al Casendra moves closer to the centipede and hacks at it with his sword furiously. 'Snow, don't let it relax. Attack it, eyes.'
