The islands have their type of magical charm and it sometimes felt like they were on a part of their own. Away from the cities and bustle of the busy lives, they almost seemed too relaxed to care about what happened outside the borders
The people however, could not be matched. Whether it was because of the state visit from the crowned prince or maybe that they were in no way relaxed like their environment, the hum was everywhere from the moment we stepped foot to our first hotel.
Through the luxury, the cracks of desperation and sleek charm could be seen.
A baby grabbing my purse when I remained behind too long for the guards to step forward. A woman rudely shoving me aside when the scene took me a moment to study and the receptionist who glared at me the whole time that River stood at the lobby to greet our hosts.
My mother had worked at all eight islands and she had brought stories of hostility and hate from almost all.
