A battlefield can be seen from far away. Bodies of hundred of thousands cover the open plains with broken and masterless weapons lying everywhere. Blood stains the black dirt with a crimson color. In the distance, a collapsed man can be seen surrounded by three flying masters. The collapsed man's simple black robe is torn with visible blood dripping all over him. The blank white mask has been shattered with nothing covering his bloodied face. His body is covered with severe cuts and broken blades can be seen still piercing his flesh. He has no time to factor in his fatal wounds as he is concentrating on something.
"Ho~oh, so that's the face of the legendary Crimson Cult Leader." said a grinning old man with bright blue robes.
"Don't be so complacent, he could still have a hidden card up his sleeve."
"Ha, don't worry Western Scholar, how could he escape? He's surrounded by us."
A red cloaked man with a black mask interrupted them before they continued.
"He is still the most deadliest and dangerous demonic cultivator within the Crimson Cult and he is many centuries old. You cannot underestimate him."
The old man continued to laugh loudly.
The Crimson Cult Leader Jin thought to himself. He would die here and nothing was possible to escape. All his array formations were destroyed, and all his pills were already used up. In the first place, Jin was the type of person to throw a rock on a bridge a thousand times before crossing. He would never take unpredictable risks and calculate his and everyone else's move before placing a single piece down. He had profound knowledge of array formations, alchemy, and manuals of many types.
Who would've known that he would be caught in a trap the 3 Heavenly Saints prepared for decades. They planned his fall for many years, using spies and destroying his sect internally and externally using any method they had. They then sent a force of 100 thousand soldiers and 50 thousand martial artists to kill the last remaining Crimson Cult Members.
Jin never regretted anything even after watching his sect being slaughtered and burned down. The Sect he spent centuries cultivating. After all, they were just stepping stones for his own benefit, meant to be thrown away forever in the river of time.
And.... they already achieved their purpose.
As their entire meaningful existence was meant for this pivotal moment. The master plan he spent centuries of his life planning.
The Master Array Formation Spell { Lich of Nine Hells, Forced Damnation of Heaven }.
"This spell.... it required many souls, blood, and resources to set up. And now.... it is finished. The final component being my body which will allow me to become a Lich and control the horde of undead beings. The cleansing of the Azure continent of all others. A world where I finally rule over."
The 3 Heavenly saints watched the Crimson Cult Leader from afar and waited him to die from his injuries, not wanting to come close. The Crimson Leader Jin of course finished his spell when they weren't finishing him off. Before the Heavenly Saints could react, a massive pulse of dark red energy exploded in every direction for dozens of miles. Hundreds of thousands of dead warriors from the Crimson Cult and the Orthodox Alliance were reanimated seconds after the blast of energy occurred. A massive Black red pillar of energy fell upon the location of Jin. His body was rapidly changing and was noticeable to the naked eye.
His skin disintegrated into dust, his flesh evaporated, and all that remained was a skeleton. But within the mind of Jin, things were not going well as planned.
"What is happening? My soul is being pulled from my new body by a mysterious powerful force. I can't resist it. If my new body doesn't have a soul to exist in, then this lich body is useless and the undead horde will become a mindless beast. My plan after all this time was ultimately useless in the end."
"Is this Punishment, Karma, or Fate?"
Jin's body started to fall apart, his soul gone, and the Horde he created started wreaking havoc on the Azure Continent, whose fate will never be seen.
