Chapter 78 - Is that a good enough reason?(1)

So the two of them face each other in a stand-off.

There was a tearing sensation in Alan's head, and the high frequency of the bacterial knife was not so steady, and he felt that he might scratch Moros's neck if he was not careful. And Moros's broken dagger was constantly preventing new Arcane soft armor from forming. With a single push, it could cut through Alan's delicate skin.

"I said... Moros, can we put our weapons away and talk?" Alan's head was too much for him. It looked like a very violent fight, but there was a lot of backstabbing going on. It looked like Moros was going for the jugly, but it was more of a threat. Even if one side is caught and overpowered, the other is capable and manipulative. So Alan offered to fight, which was a draw at this point.

But Moros still thinks Ellen and Nova are in cahoots! Whatever Alan said, there was no sign of any concession.

"Moros, my place was infiltrated earlier. I think you need to inform Captain Nova!" When Moros did not respond, Alan said he hoped he would understand what was happening. "I don't think it was me, it was the captain!"

What the hell is going on?

Moros was covered with frostbite and burns, and Alan said several unexpected things as if he did not know that he had sneaked into Alan's room, but somewhat confused him: "What about the fungus? Levitzk brought it out?"

Alan was taken aback, thinking that the captain had told Moros. "Did the Captain tell you that?"

"Why did that old bastard Nova tell me that!"

'Why didn't the captain tell you?

Two people were confused by each other. Each other and what they want to say is entirely different.

"That... Have we made a mistake..."

"What then?

"On the count of three, shall we draw the knife together?"

"All right."

"Three... Two... A..."

...

"Why don't you?"

"You don't take it either!

Alan and Moros froze again, neither daring to take the knife first. If they did, the other would seize it, and the bargaining power would be lost.

"Cut! When Moros looked down, he saw a long flaming knife against his chest, and it was Kaka, who had just emerged from his robes, grinning, that had unleashed the Arcane!

"Damn it!" Then Moros remembered that there had been such a thing! But Alan kept an arcane Mycelium, and when it was time to give it to himself, Moros was utterly defeated!

"Okay, okay, I give up, okay?" Moros seems to think of something, quite a bit of self-deprecation of the dagger to the ground a throw, this game, he did not account for too much advantage, today this situation is also acceptable.

When Alan saw that Moros had dropped his knife, he removed his own, and felt that his headache was a little better because he was no longer driving Arcane. With a pat on the grinning Chuck, the fluorescent mushroom knowingly drew back the long flame knife. Before he could ask, Alan heard Moros say, "Well, go ahead and ask anything you like."

Moros, not at all conscious of being a prisoner, began to strip himself of his skin and daub his wounds with potion of unknown effect. Looks like it's for burns and frostbite, nothing serious, but it still needs to be treated. After all, the body is only standard equipment, but eat so much Arcane! He wanted to escape the mess, but the captain couldn't sell it now.

Alan did not care, so he began to say what he had wanted to say: "Moros, I didn't introduce myself, my name is Alan, Alan Roeder..."

"You hired me to handle the materials. I know that. And that old bastard Nova hasn't told me anything. We don't know each other very well."

Alan had no idea that his cover had been blown and, frustrated by Moros's indifference, began to state: "The thing is, the place where I have just been staying has been infiltrated by someone else, and so..."

"That's me."

"Huh?
