Chapter 38 - Lifesaving freezing(2)

Arrows rain all over the sky, and wind blades mixed with fireballs crisscross the battlefield. The Tumen soldiers matched the Austrian charge, and arrows poured down as if for free. The three with the big shield were the main fighting force, but they were completely pinned down, only to be countered by a few scattered Arcane attacks from Sellswords and Arcane masters inside the turtle shell. Alan was a little rusty at first, but he got better once he got into the game. The Fireball and Ice Arrow, two of the only spells of attack, kept putting a lot of pressure on Abel. And Shen has quietly slipped out of the field waiting for an opportunity. Soon, both sides realize that the key to the battle has come down to Shen and Tumen's Arcane. Tunmun couldn't get in. The real problem was the Arcane in the dark. It would wear the party down sooner or later. And as long as the Tunmen are without the Arcane, the three otherworldly beings are free to cast their attacking spells, no matter how many Arwurists you have.

The Toomens must be aware of this problem. Arcane moves more and more frequently, almost changing positions with a single spell, and the only time it's revealed is when Fireball is cast, but Windblade doesn't fly fast enough, and by the time the counterarcane arrives, the opponent won't know where to go. And it would be difficult to find a chance to kill, after all, the Arcane next to the few Owu can't be put down at once and never have a chance.

"Take care of yourselves! I'll catch it!" After several failed attempts, Abel decided to take matters into his own hands. Then asking the people behind to protect themselves, and cast two spells at the same time, will surely cause the shield defense to decrease, then this gap is the biggest weakness. Abel said no more. The staff continued to release the Arcane parapet, and his right hand made a great upwind whirl. It looked like another wind spear!

Not long after, another ball of fire shot out of the darkness, and Abel, who had been waiting for a long time, naturally would not let go, but just a little light from the fireball came from the distance, and the wind spear, which was ready to start, stabbed into the darkness faster than the fireball.

There was an explosion, a scream, and a few howls.

Abel immediately realized that the blast from the landing of the wind spear had worked! And Shen also seized the opportunity to assassinate the Tumen Arcane master directly and then caused the Owu around him to howl. Shen doesn't need to worry, he has a way to kill out of the enemy line, but it is a few of the outside guerrilla while Abel released the wind spear when the barrier broke, by the time Abel released the barrier again, there are three of the Owu rushed into the shell of the turtle to kill the four sides!

One was in a position to rush in and try to stall Abel, while the other two were completely reckless, killing everyone in sight! For a moment, the family knew up close what it was like to have blood flying. By the time Abel had killed the warrior who tried to stop him with a blade, he found that several sellsword soldiers had been pierced in seconds. Shevell and Gordon were not idle, either. They had their hands free to care for one, but the last was too late.

At last, the only child saw that there was no more chance, and the teammates outside were in chaos because the Arcane master was killed. From the archers to the jungle soldiers, they either lost their square inch or began to retreat. There was no hope for retreat long ago, and they tried to change one by one, but the family suffered heavy losses. This time, the only one rushed at Alan, who was nearest, raised his spear, and struck him in the forehead. Shevell was horrified to see how far his mission had progressed, and their second job had long since become to keep Alan safe, even though he had planned to send Alan back north once he had left the colony. The hand, then, is a blade of wind blowing forward at full speed, but looking at the distance in any case is going to be short. Then a few syllables were heard flying out of Alan's mouth, and then, in a swish, the Tumen spear was seen slicing through Alan's head, and then the wind blade was slowly slicing off half of the Owulk's head, spraying brains and blood all over Alan. As they fell back and forth on a bed of germs, Shevell regretted sending Alan straight back to Apuyi with the family children. It was a terrible loss for a man who could work out his compound spells.

"Ah..." Alan struggled to his feet under the body, holding the wound on the left side of his face, and threw Tunman's body, half of his head missing, over the bed. Then Alan glanced at the blood in the palm of his hand, which revealed the wound, and gasped: "Bloody pain... PSST..."

What's going on? Many in the family, apart from Shevell, believed that Alan had survived this one because the Tumen warriors' spears were coming too fast for even Shevell's blades to intercept them in time, and Alan, for that matter, had eluded them.

Is it Arcane? The few syllables Alan had uttered at the last moment of his life were even vaguer. If it was not a spell, it could not be linked to any other spell on the market, and it was only six syllables.

But Abel heard a strange syllable, caught a glimpse of the ice on her baby's right arm, and instantly reacted.

Compound spell, six syllables from six different languages of the Ice Arrow spell. The strangest pronunciation comes from the northern empire of Shelnaby, which has little involvement in the islands. Shelna is good at ice Arcane art, but the other Arcane works so poorly that few Arcane artists ever try to develop it. Alan, on the other hand, not only used Sher's language but incorporated it into the structure of the compound spell! But the syllables are too short, so the effect of the original ice arrow has no other effect except freezing. The brief freeze gave Allen time to avoid a fatal attack, which ended with a blow aimed at his forehead only skimming his cheek.

This spell is an innovation. Freezing! The effect is only temporary freezing, but the spell is so short that it works perfectly as a life-saving spell! Abel even wanted to ask Alan how the Arcane spell was used. Although Abel knew only six syllables by heart, how the spell triggered and mobilized the waves of energy was a different mystery. Knowing the spell itself is only the first step, and there's a lot more to it than actually releasing it.

But neither Shevell nor Abel had time to think of that now. The chance of being able to kill the Arcanists was fleeting, and now it seemed that the Tumens, following their commander's instructions, were ready to attack again. Under Grenn's guidance, the Turtles rushed in the direction where the perimeter was weakest, and the Tunemen, who had no major output, were unable to organize an effective intercession. They lost a lot of lives and watched the Deco crowd disappear.

Running for more than an hour, dawn should have been outside the fungus forest, and the Deco people finally completely rid of the Tumen people's first encirclement. When the men were counted, the hearts of the three transcendents sank. One Arsorcerer was caught in the Tumen carnage, and three Sellsword soldiers were killed. It was the first time an Arcanist had died. Except for Gordon and Shelvey, the strongest of the two groups, the rest of the Deco were wounded in various ways. Even Abel was stabbed in the upper arm while taking care of the onrushing Owu and was still bleeding from bandaging his wounds. Shen was exhausted after returning to the team, his shoulder armor was completely chipped, and he appeared to have been taken care of during the retreat.

The sight of the death of a fellow Arcane made everyone feel a sense of grief, and the next thing was to ask Alan how to use his freeze. At such times, one more Arcane was one more card to play, let alone a very short spell with only six syllables! Too bad Alan's not available right now. I thought he had completely adapted to the war, but the fact proved that he needed time as always, he was hugging the mushroom tree to vomit but vomited several times a day, there was nothing to give him in the abdominal cavity, strong nausea made him retching for a long time, could not recover.
