The woman attempted to bargain with Theli as she slowly treaded closer and closer to him, she had already composed herself but it was clear from her earlier reaction that she was more than a little panicked.
Theli reached into his grey coat and pulled out a triangular shaped vial, which was clearly too large to have just been sitting in there and removed the cork with his thumb, slowly pushing it off.
Like a vacuum, the vial pulled in the remnant of the source inside of it, the surrounding plant life visibly suffered from this but in the end, they didn't suffer much at all, they would quickly recover.
The woman however, once she saw this, it was like everything but killing Theli had left her mind, one could say that she might have been a little displeased with his action.
"What the hell are you-" she didn't get why, of all things, he would put the source in a vial rather than just use it for himself, she simply couldn't fathom the reason why.
In her blind rush, she made the same mistake a second time and forgot that there was another person around, Theli was just such a bizarre and infuriating person that he seemed to suck in the light from the already poorly lit cave, absolutely leaving nothing visible but himself.
As she moved forward, she saw movement from the corner of her vision.
Rolanh swooped in next to her, just a slight bit ahead of where she was, swinging his spear in a way that would have seemed off for pretty much any other opponent.
The blade lodged itself right in between the junction in between her forehead and the green crystal, as it did, he let the shaft of his spear slid though his hands, closer to the blade so as to get a stronger grip.
He pulled the blade away from her, taking the crystal with it but since she was going in that same direction, this attack seemed doomed to end in utter failure.
Rolanh already knew what to do to remedy this problem, he kneed her in the stomach, resulting in him assuming quite an awkward position that would surely leave him with some pain for the next few days.
Just like the cork of a champagne bottle, the crystal popped out of her forehead with a satisfying sound, flying off into the distance, only to be caught by Theli.
"Seems like I'll be the next one to marry" he said as Rolanh plopped to the ground and the unnamed woman started flailing around as she decayed at an extraordinary speed.
Remaining standing, her skeleton remained, stuck in place as it seemed like she had been trying to put out a fire on her in her last instants.
"Stop saying nonsense and cast a healing spell! I think I broke my hips" yelled Rolanh.
"How old are you Rolanh? Hips breaking is for elderly people when falling over!" commented the mage as simply casted a few spells on his party member, allowing him to stand back up immediately afterwards.
"Well, you are lucky, seems like she actually hit you in the spine before going out" remarked Theli as he slid the now full vial in his coat.
"I wouldn't need to be lucky if you didn't chose when to do things at random, you could have just frozen her but you weren't doing anything!" complained the spearman.
"And you jumped into action to save me, isn't this beautiful? Magnifique!" Theli laughed.
"What do you even want to do with this source of perfection or whatever it is called?" asked Rolanh as he pointed at the spot where Theli had put it.
"Are you going to use it to become a super human? That's what you are about, if we exclude the other weird stuff"
"Well yes but first, we refine, clearly this is unoptimised to the most, one would most likely see a great increase in capacity but nowhere near putting someone their absolute peak, I can't believe this girl would have wanted to use the last bit of it as it was" Theli began walking back as he held the crystal, lightly touching the skeleton of that woman, making it disappear completely.
"Let us go meet mister boar man and tell him that the threat has been dealt with, then we will go on with the expedition but don't tell anyone we already uncovered the treasure of this place! We might not get paid otherwise!" he adviced his friend as Rolanh just scratched his nose in thought.
"Are you certain there aren't any other treasures around here that we could get before doing that?" he wondered.
"Ah, you criticise me for being a freak but you don't back down before thievery and grave robbing! Unfortunately for your criminal side, I have thoroughly scanned this place and it seemed to have been made solely to look over the source of excellence" he chuckled.
"Don't try to compare your deviancy to me just being an adventurer Theli, I don't have intercourse with everything in existence on account that it is possible" Rolanh shook his head.
"You shouldn't judge before getting a taste" retorted Theli as they walked through the path the woman had punched through the debris.
"When you puke just by the smell of it, you can be certain it will taste like vomit" Rolanh stayed silent after this but quickly found something to say that made sense.
"Let's say, if the two species can't produce fertile offsprings, then they should have nothing philandering with one another" he said, feeling smart about this, this should work in most cases and for the exceptions he knew of, he could just respond 'exception confirms the rule', an expression Theli sometime used, it was a flawless argument, after so many times they had had a similar discussion, he had finally found the perfect counter.
"Oh, I see, I disagree though" simply responded Theli as he then speed walked away, leaving Rolanh stumped.
