Chapter 180 - Who Cares?

In the outside world, two heroes and a cardinal sin stared at what appear to be nothing more than a rocky landscape, where not much grass growed at all and where hills were the sole decorations.

"So... Where is he?" asked the blonde hero with a snake wrapped around his neck.

"Right over there" responded the cardinal sin with angelic wings as she pointed at a hill with an orange shade.

"Is he behind that hill?" wondered the heroine as she tapped her club in her hand.

"He is the hill" simply clarified Wrath as she brought her wings back into her back.

Milleral was wondering how she could bring her large wings in and out like that without ripping her clothes apart, there weren't even any holes in her back that could let them pass through, he didn't linger on that however and focused on the hill.

"Anyways, what is it that you want me to do? I won't kill a lesser sin and I doubt he'll be willing to listen to anything I say, he is not Indifference for nothing" continued Wrath, the hill in question was actually just a lesser sin's back as he was laying down.

He must have stayed there for a good while, since he had seemingly been covered by the environment.

"Won't he listen even a little bit to a cardinal sin? You are his superior, technically" remarked the serpentine hero.

"Pride couldn't make him do anything for more than two seconds, I won't do any better, are you sure you want me to help with him in particular? He is fairly harmless when left alone, now that he decided to lay down and sleep, he is unlikely to get up any time soon, indifference is a sin that leads to sloth after all and you haven't seen a heavy sleeper until you've seen Sloth at it" spoke Wrath, had it been any other of the lessers sin, she could have just told them to not mess around and it would be done, perhaps not Oath Breaker but he was apparently as dead as it went.

Occult didn't appreciate non-mages but he had respect for the hierarchy, even the proud dragon would listen and yet, they settled for Indifference of all things.

'Perhaps they just want to test me and my trustworthiness' she though as Milleral was once again the one to speak up, Ilmna was just eyeing the hill intensely.

"He is too unpredictable due to his total lack of care for anything, like you said, the others are apparently much easier to reason with, he is the only one that won't listen to anything, we are willing to trust the cardinal sins to keep an eye on the others but Indifference has to be dealt with in some way" he said matter of factly as he also started staring at the hill.

"Mmh" seeing the two heroes behaving in the same way, Wrath rubbed her chin, those two seemed like polar opposites but they always ended up on the same line of thought it seemed.

"Well, if you just want to be sure he won't just decide to walk through densely populated areas or something like that, I should be able to arrange something..." the angelic sin pulled out a communication device from her pocket, fiddled with it for a few moments as she walked off at a distance, leaving the two heroes staring together at the unmoving lesser sin.

"Is it working?" wondered Wrath as she tried to reach out to Ithelisemou, if there was someone that could deal with Indifference in a non-lethal way, it was him.

"Allô? It's me, Ithelisemou or Theli, whatever you want, what's up Wrath?" casually responded Theli but Wrath immediately noticed the noises in the background.

"You sound a bit busy" remarked Wrath and Theli just slightly laughed on the other side.

"Yes, I might have 'accidentally' awoken death itself and he weirdly feels very familiar! What did you want to ask?" ignoring the fact that he actually scrapped the communication item to convey quotation marks, Wrath just stayed silent for a few moment as it sounded like a portal to hell had been opened on Theli's side.

"I doubt you'll be available soon, right?"

"Sûrement pas! It will take some time to wrap things up, a few days, a week? Hard to say, anyways, if I don't die, what do you think about coming to my place sometime? Malina, has made a new recipe with rabbit and it is qui-" Wrath hung up on him and moved on to her second choice for assistance.

Fiddling with the tool for some more time, she managed to reach who she had in mind.

At the beginning it sounded like the receiver was in water or something but after a guttural and less than appetising sloshing noises, someone responded.

"Can you hear me Gluttony?" she asked and after a second of silence, the mimic sin responded.

"Yes, but the whole thing is slippery..."

"..." Wrath didn't ask but Gluttony still went ahead and explained.

"It's because I have to keep it inside my stomach, you know, because I don't have any pockets"

"Then perhaps you should think about wearing something else alongside your cloak?"

"..."

"Why are you reaching out to me?" asked Gluttony as she changed the subject.

"Ah yes, I would need you to swallow Indifference whole, without killing or hurting him of course" explained Wrath and Gluttony stayed silent for a few moments.

"Where?" she then asked, she didn't even have any questions, she was being asked to eat a lesser sin, she couldn't do it before because they were allies despite how tasty they looked but now that the occasion presented itself, she wasn't going to miss it.

"I am in the depth of the eastern Laparadisian mountain ranges, how about you?" revealed Wrath, Gluttony stayed quiet as she tried to visualise a map in her head.

"I am in Aeraliun, just had a buffet, it will take a while for me to get there"

"Can't you go at full speed?"

"And waste my calories? Never, I'll walk"

"Alright then, tell me exactly where you are and don't move, I'll come pick you up..." spoke Wrath as she brought her wings back out, stretching them.
