Chapter 174 - All For Aeraliun

The great magus was managing to fend her off for now, her whole focus was on him, or rather, it was entirely on his mana core.

She might have been looking like a warped abomination but she must have had some sort of weak spot, Nilrem snuck around in her back to try and see if anything could be considered one.

"Mana core, little mana core, delicious mana core~" meanwhile, Gluttony was muttering about her next meal blissfully.

Although she had been hyperfocused on the mana core itself and had ignored the person which possessed it, she was refining her approached and was getting closer and closer to striking the magus directly, chomping down his barriers and spells one by one as she swung tongues covered in razor sharp teeth.

The magus managed to foresee the attempts at Gluttony to attack from beneath the ground but left himself open enough for her to land a deep gash in his right shoulder.

Unlike your run of the mill mage, the magus didn't flinch and repelled the deadly appendage raising a wall of earth as he immediately casted a number of spells, timing it perfectly with the destruction of his earthen wall.

A flash of light magic to blind Gluttony's sight and a usage of death magic to emit a corpse smell to momentarily cripple her sense of taste, the wave of spells crashed into her, allowing him to prepare a more powerful spell as she reeled back from the blow.

Nilrem was fascinated by his calm and mastery but didn't let himself stop for a second, in the midst of teeth, tongue and deformed maws, in the very center of it, pretty much unrecognisable was the form of the little girl.

Everything grew from there in some capacity, by all means, damaging this part should deal the most damage.

However, it was fairly high up with all of the extra parts that had emerged, he casted earth spells to make a staircase slowly as he had to make sure to camouflage his mana, even as the magus was messing with her senses, Nilrem doubted that something obvious would escape her.

The magus unleashed the larger spell, a continuous lightning bolt that would paralyse most of what would be struck, it only slowed the sin down and made her a little more innacurate but the magus kept on channeling the spell with his left hand as he prepared something else with his right hand.

'Death magic again! Is he going to cast instant death?!' Nilrem hadn't believed the magus to be knowledgeable enough in this element to cast such a powerful spell.

Gluttony wasn't very distressed by it however, something else was on her mind.

"Don't empty your core! You are sapping the taste!" as the lightning spell intensified, she didn't slow down as sent her attacks forward at devastating angles, ready to lop off the magus's arms and claim the mana core in the same instant.

Pumping his mana into his dagger, causing the blade to take on a blue hue and expand, the condensed mana was plunged toward the back of her skull, whether or not it killed her didn't matter to Nilrem, it just needed to disrupt her enough for the great magus to cast his spell.

As the dagger reached its target, it encountered no resistance whatsoever.

Gluttony whole body split into two as teeth lined the borders of each side, causing the strike to completely miss at the last possible moment.

"Mister bottled up feelings, I didn't forget you! I guess I'll eat you first" she said, Nilrem's attack had failed and the death spell wouldn't be completed before Gluttony struck, the great magus was going to die.

Maws were on the verge of crushing him into a bloody pulp but at the last moment, the magus canceled the death spell in an instant and casted one last spell before he was killed.

Nilrem felt hands of mana grasp him, suddenly losing strength as the magus's mana core was ripped out of him and his arms slashed.

There was nowhere to go however, the mana hands couldn't pull him out, maws were all around him, Nilrem closed his eyes as he waited for it to happen.

The hands threw him past the teeth and right into the mouth of the cardinal sin, he fell and fell for what seemed to be hours on end.

Even after so long, he hadn't died.

He fell into a pool of dark liquid and struggled to get to his feet for a few moments before emerging from the waist-high sea of blood.

"What the hell?" he couldn't help but blurt out as he looked all around him.

The sea of blood seemed to extend into infinity, only darkness lurked in the sky, limbs and minced up corpses floated in the blood.

Nilrem could feel some as he tried to walk as well, sunk under the bloody sea.

But this wasn't what caused him to speak up, all around him, floating and moving a little bit above the sea were various buildings and items, carriages, statues, whole buildings.

This place felt suffocating, the mana density was beyond anything he had ever experienced.

"Is... Is this the inside of Gluttony? Her stomach?" he said aloud without meaning to, having such a pocket space inside of oneself, she was even beyond his wildest imaginations, seeing her barely fazed by spells powerful enough to make dragons bow their heads was one thing but this was on a whole other level.

'All of them are on this level?' he thought as he managed to calm his mind down.

'How can I get out of here? The magus used his last moments to save me, I can't let his last spell be wasted like this...' he made his way toward one of the floating buildings, it seemed like every single components of them were floating independently and where coming together to form them.

'Did she devour whole buildings? How come I never heard of such things? How come she could go unnoticed if she was pulling things like these?' he wondered as looked into the building carefully.

Feasting on limbs most likely gathered in the blood sea, a humanoid being eating as if the limbs were still alive, tearing them apart while grunting and screaming, splashing blood and bits on the walls.

It was only wearing beaten up trousers with bits of plate armor still holding on, his back had a maw, right behind the left shoulder.

'Great... She has security in her belly as well' thought Nilrem as he continued to analyse the creature, he guessed it was also a craving one or a type of one but he didn't want to attack recklessly, it was something dwelling inside of a cardinal sin, even if it was just a quarter as strong as her, it would completely shred Nilrem.

As if feeling a gaze on its back, the creature turned around, its face was mostly normal, except for its huge, outstreched mouth, which was filled with an ungodly amounts of sharp teeth, growing without end, to the point where they pushed against one another and where piercing through his gum and flesh.

He had no cheeks but could move his jaws without issue, its face was covered in blood and it was still munching on a piece of flesh.

Unlike the craving ones he had encountered, this one didn't seem to be capable of speaking to express its hunger, that or it simply didn't need to as it appeared like they were well fed here.

'All for Aeraliun' thought Nilrem as stabbed it right through the forehead as it got a bit too close, its eyes rolled back, for a few moments, it kept on standing but soon collapsed, even giving Nilrem XP, meaning that these things were considered as their own things.
