Chapter 168 - Forging

Free falling from the heavens, Wrath extended her wings and let herself be slowly carried down.

"..." she scoured the far away ground in search of certain people in particular but from such heights, she couldn't see anything at all.

However, they should have a specific presence to them, she had also already met them before, so she should be able to recognise them at a glance once they got in range.

"Where was it that they died already?" she muttered to herself, soon finding the obvious landmark.

Picking up her falling pace, Wrath soon arrived near the gigantic hole in the ground, which had been Idolatry's last resting place, his fake holy energy still filled the air as if he was still alive.

'It's been a while but this is as good as I can get' thought the angelic sin as she started flying up, in search of anywhere the winner of this fight might have went.

"As I have been telling you, we've been trying to look for information about that 'god of control' but without any luck, very few place had anything on this guy and it was at most a small mention" explained Milleral while Ilmna was busy getting her hands on things she shouldn't be touching.

"So we, I mean, I thought to go ask a 'professional' on the subject"

"And you are asking me?" Simply responded Idil flatly as they both sat opposite to one another in the private room of a tavern.

"Yeah, none of us know any other clerics or such" chimmed in Ilmna as she brought a plate of food that she probably didn't order.

"We met once and yet, I am the priestess you know best? That is worrying but that is the least of our problems here, you two actually killed lesser sins, Heilig is supposed to be allied with them you know? I should be arresting you two, normally" the champion spoke in a low voice.

The two heroes just stayed silent, waiting for her to continue.

"Listen, I never heard of any 'god of control' in such a manner, people say that I am blessed by all gods but that isn't how it works, I just have a great connection with them and when I try to reach out to that control god of yours, I get nothing, so there aren't many options possible" she started to explain with a sigh.

"Either, your god doesn't exist at all but from what you told me about the words of the lesser sins, that doesn't seem likely, he is already dead or can't respond at all and lastly, he just chose not to answer, that's the best I can do" she shrugged her shoulders.

"Though, I have tried asking the other gods I can communicate with and their responses are a bit off, as if they all knew they were supposed to lie but hadn't come together to chose a coherent story, your god of control seems fishy, he might as well have multiple aliases" she concluded as she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.

"He does have multiple aliases but he mostly just leeches of other gods" confirmed someone that had just sat down with the three of them.

She had gotten there and spoken so casually, as if she belonged so well that it took a full second for everyone to realise the problem here.

Sitting on the free seat was a rather beautiful lady with features sharp enough to cut off someone's head, dark red hair and eye but a blue coat for some reason.

Before anyone could ask or point out the obvious, the newly arrived guest spoke up to do it.

"As you must have recognised, I am Wrath, no, I am not here for retribution about Idolatry and Ingratitude, you can settle down, I am here to ask for an alliance" she said calmly, a bit of blood and pus leaking from her left eye.

"With you two" she added while pointing at the two heroes.

There was a period of awkward silence as no one knew what to say, everyone was still wondering how she got in here and had yet to digest her words.

Ilmna just pushed the plate of food toward the sin as if feeding her was the perfect answer.

Wrath didn't seem to mind and just picked up something to eat while waiting for everyone to sort out their minds.

"Hum, an alliance for what?" asked Milleral, he could have considered attacking but only a fool would do that.

"To get rid of the god of control, the old cockroach has been sitting in his throne for far too long, he needs to be replaced" she spoke flatly.

"Why should we help you with that? Isn't he the mortal enemy of the sins or something?" said Ilmna, although it didn't appear like refusing was an option, Wrath wasn't threatening them at all, so she surely thought that it wasn't necessary.

"Simple, he isn't our mortal enemy, he is a useless leech, he is to blame for pitting the virtues against the sins too, he is to blame for all of the lesser sins existences and also because fuck him" she stated with simplicity.

"My plan is to have him replaced with Pride, you'll just need to preach about her to make her cult grow by calling her by the various names the god of control has taken as well as claiming that she is the reincarnation of any other god you can think of, you two are heroes, the people will be more inclined to believe you and if they believe, it will feed Pride's power and at term, she will be replacing the old goat, any questions?" no one had any questions for everyone was at a loss for words.

"I wouldn't mind helping you with something as well, I am quite influential amongst the sins, I can certainly help with pretty much anything" Wrath's odd nonchalance certainly didn't help with their dazed state.

"I even know someone capable of doing pretty much anything, if necessary, I can just go ask himf for something in your stead, and even if you refuse to help, I am not going to harm you in any way by, for example, breaking your legs and arms"

"Anyways, I'll let you think things through, I'll come back toward you in about a week" with that she left the room by just walking away and using the door like a normal person.
