Chapter 152 - Guess who's back?

Iustus had gotten through most of the other dreams now, he wasn't certain of what to take from each of them however, the virtues powers seemed to be much less flashy than the sins, so the uses they had for their powers tended to be oddly specific or obscure.

Though, the sins too seemed too lack any complicated abilities, many were straightforward and he was convinced the former Gluttony hadn't used any of his specific abilities in the dream Iustus had seen.

The former Envy and Sloth had had curious abilities but they hadn't related to their sins at all, as for the old Pride...

It hadn't been much of a fight, not because any of the two combatants were underpowered compared to the other, Iustus had clearly understood what to get from this however, Humility had just used his speech to convince Pride, although it might have helped that they seemed to have known each other before becoming a virtue and sin.

Was it really possible for Iustus to simply, convince a sin that what they were doing wasn't good? He doubted it, though it wasn't like he actually knew what was going on in any of the sins, perhaps it would be easier to do so with a lesser sin.

The fact that he had been shown this option with the former Pride of all sins seemed to indicate that it could be simpler than he thought.

To think about all of this, before heading into the seventh and last dream, the on with the former Greed, the virtuous hero simply strolled through the city of Sht'ole, it was quite the strange city, even Iustus could see that quickly.

Now that the streets weren't blocked by incredible amounts of snow, the people could move freely around, there was a weird thing about them, it appeared as though a disaster could happen and they would only be mildly annoyed.

The man that had grabbed him the first time he had gotten here was still standing by that memorial, how he hadn't froze to death was beyond the hero, he wasn't doing anything in particular that time and neither was he now, it seemed he was just stayed alive by sheer force of will.

Somehow, Iustus doubted that the man even slept and left this place at all, he had yet to see him in a different position after his few walks around the city.

One other strange thing, there was a river here and it apparently connected to the ocean, so even if it could only go along the shore, the city should be pretty prosperous thanks to that and yet, it still looked like any city but somehow worse.

Iustus just chalked it up to him still being a peasant and just not understanding how things worked.

He kept on thinking back on the dreams, taking note of anything out of the usual and trying to understand what each of the fighter was thinking to make the decisions they had.

However, while he was making mental gymnastics, he suddenly felt watched, not just the usual stare from someone on the street but the kind that made one's skin go cold.

The hero looked over his shoulder and noticed no one watching him, despite the feeling remaining, he wondered if it wasn't Ithelisemou for a moment but felt like it wasn't it, the man had proven capable of going around and appearing so stealthily that Iustus couldn't even tell when he had gotten there.

And also, it felt malicious, Iustus could tell the direction it was coming from but wasn't seeing anything or anyone bizarre, he walked up to a nearby shop and stared right into the one stone brick that seemed to be looking at him and still, nothing seemed off, he touched the brick and it was just like the other too.

Since punching a hole into someone's habitation because you thought it was looking at you weird was something a crazy person would do, Iustus just squinted his eyes at it to let it know that he was aware and just walked away.

The moment he turned around, he felt the gaze go away, once more looking behind him, there was still nothing, no one running away and the brick was still here.

The young hero premptively stretched up his limbs before heading out of the city and into the nearby forest, walking on his guard until he reached a small clearing, there was nothing special around but this area felt like it had seen a fight long ago.

Iustus went and stood in the center of this area, he waited and waited until dusk, it was then that he heard footsteps approaching him, he had noticed a gaze trying to get closer but backing off a few times at the start and it had disappeared for a while now.

Still, Iustus stayed still, his stalker might have just figured out how to not be so easily noticed.

"What are you doing out here?" he heard a familar voice and looked up at to see Ithelisemou, he looked exactly like he would expect him to be and sounded the same as well.

"I just felt like waiting for something to show up" simply responded the hero as he fully turned to the dark-haired man and struck him in the chest without hesitation.

He was sent away a bit before rooting himself firmly into the ground as he seemed to melt away, revealing an old and decrepit armor.

"Hey there, how did you know it wasn't the real one?" asked the armored figure, no, Iustus had no doubt about it, this was a lesser sin and from the description Gregory had given him, this was Oath Breaker.

Iustus didn't explain himself but it was really simple, Oath Breaker had simply chosen the wrong form to assume.

Anyone else and Iustus would have had to double guess himself.

Ithelisemou, despite not using any pressure or even letting his aura or anything else show, he always had this aura of intense dread surrounding him, it was like Iustus simply knew that he didn't stand a chance.

Iustus had never been subject to any spell of Ithelisemou other than the one used to made his memory blurry and convince him to go through with Theli's idea, he would have been none the wiser even if he had but there was no need.

All Ithelisemou had been doing was not block off his purely natural vibe, the one he gave off when blocking everything, including the stats and all of the abilities given by the system.

So when Iustus saw Ithelisemou and didn't notice this, he felt certain that this wasn't him.

Oath Breaker grabbed the back of his neck and cracked it as he prepared to fight.

"All right, then. Keep your secrets" he uttered as his shape bulged up.
