Instead of throwing something at full force, Molarine simply dropped a small pebble at the feet of the sin, allowing her to clearly see what his peculiar aura was capable of.
When the process was completed, another, identical pebble appeared next to the other, mirroring its positioning, anything that approached him was really duplicated.
From that, it was easy to guess what would happen if a person got too close, a duplicate of themselves would appear and instead of simply going to other way as objects did, it was highly possible that it would instead do the opposite of what they wanted to do.
Meaning that either of them would have to face themselves if they wanted to get close to the lesser sin, it might not work this way but it would soon be confirmed anyways.
Ilmna didn't care much about it and approached the knight, who still seemed to be completely out of it.
As expected, instead of bashing the knight's head in with her club, she was stopped right in her track as a duplicate of herself popped out of herself, the process caused to pain and barely any discomfort, the duplicate was accurate but not perfect, unlike with objects, people couldn't be perfectly mimicked.
Before it could even pull out its legs properly, the heroine grabbed her copy by the face and threw it away, only for the copy to be mauled by the hero's snake before it could even reach the ground.
Another copy didn't immediately try to manifest itself after the other was destroyed, allowing Ilmna to swing her goedendag right at the sin's knee, making him lose balance and fall to the ground with a thud, before she started to attempt to literally pound him into the ground.
Since the copies weren't very strong and where vulnerable as they were created the two others joined in on the beat down, which looked more like three bandits jumping a poor knight from afar.
The armor caved in, causing bones to crack and blood to spew out for the armor was an integral part of the sin's body, having pretty much replaced his skin.
He still showed no reaction for a while, even as it seemed like his head would be crushed, his helm slowly bending in and pushing against his skull.
Unseen but felt by everyone, he opened his eyes with had stayed closed up until now, unleashing his power in its actual form instead of an half-assed aura.
Duplicates bursted out of each of them, so many appearing at once that they were thrown back, away from the sin as he stood back up, his armor slowly regaining its shape, demonstrating his regenerative abilities.
He noticed that his sword had been lost at some point but it didn't matter much, the sin's helm seemed to melt and bubble and soon, this effect extended to his whole body as he laughed maniacally.
The two heroes and Molarine couldn't pay too much attenton to his antics as they had to get rid of the duplicates that had appeared and seemed to still be trying to reach out.
Freed from the limits of his half-asleep state, the sin reveled in his success at absorbing the personality that had been created through his carelessness, it had worked!
He felt stronger, faster and more perceptive than before, he had the strength of a knight alongside his basic abilities!
His abilities were very much a reflection of his life, his whole life melted down into an essence of power!
Now that he had properly gained control of his body again, he couldn't see himself losing, though that may have been a bit early to think that.
As despite his newfound resistance and constitution, the fist of that tall woman still managed to cave in his chest and sent him tumbling back.
Some blood seemed from the openings in his helm as he coughed up.
'She's strong...'
'He's strong...'
Both of them were quite impressed, the sin because his own power had been boosted by that of a powerful knight and he had still be hurt by a single attack and Molarine because she could feel the recoil in her fist.
He may have gained an incredible physique but he still wasn't meant to be a close-range fighter, the earth in front of his feet started to shift and duplicates started bursting from Molarine's back, sending her forward as a duplicate of herself, only made out of earth like some sort of golem, appeared from the soil, ready to intercept her in the air.
It was easily destroyed but the sin had used this occasion to take his distances and focus on making as much duplicates from nearby materials as possible, sending them forth like a wave, only for a small objects to pierce right through it, not stopping it in the slightest but lodging itself right into the sin's left eye, effectively blinding it.
The two heroes were done with their duplicates as Oath Breaker hadn't been able to continue duplicating them as he focused on Molarine.
Ilmna joined her side and with the power of blunt force trauma, destroyed the wave of duplicates to pieces and surprisingly, Oath breaker was still in the same spot as before, ripping out his left eye out and pushing in a duplicate if it in its stead.
Still being at a good distance, the lesser sin didn't let his guard down, the thing that had pierced his left eye was a scale, the serpentince hero could attack him from a distance, so he brought back his earlier aura to prevent any projectile from reaching him and focused intensely, bringing out everything he had, pushing out mana, mind power and such as well as some of his life force into his next move.
Doing something like that wasn't very proper and was the equivalent of forcing a door open instead of lockpicking it but he had had no time to truly refine his powers and find ways to efficiently use them.
Slamming both of his fists into the ground, the ground shattered and sent pieces of the earth, dust and such into the air as his body bubbled enormously.
From the debris and himself, duplicates of everyone present appeared, including himself, obstructing himself from view, he vanished from their sights as copies of himself and them rushed forward.
Molarine and Milleral braced from the charge while Ilmna focused on finding the sin himself but it was meaningless, even after all of the duplicates had been dealt with, the sin was nowhere to be found.
Aware that this fight hadn't been going his way since the very beginning, Oath Breaker chose the tactic of retreat.
Although, it wasn't quite a retreat for once the three of them finally decided to leave, which took much longer than the sin had thought it would, he appeared in the stead of a tree, having been disguising himself as a fake of another tree.
He had first thought of taking the form one of them and take at least one out that way but after his initial attack to block himself from view, it was clear that it wouldn't help him win and he instead chose to flee.
Staggering away, feeling the lack of energies in his body, Oath Breaker still felt satisfied with his performance, surely, they would keep on thinking about him, their attention was on him.
That was what mattered the most not to achieve victory but to be acknowledged.
