"I sense impressive presences, could those two be the people you mentioned snake hero?" the knight spoke up, taking a pose with his sword for no reason, exasperating the serpentine hero and earning a nod from the heroine, who had started doing the same thing as him.
Even though this felt like a good enough reason to jump of a cliff, Milleral held on and arrived on the doorstep to potential allies, right on time too as Laparadi was under attack from two different point, an army of undead that rampaged through everything in within its reach from the east and a sudden eruption of disfigured monsters in the west, though the latter seemed content on staying in its current perimeter, not actively moving forward.
In the most part that is, after getting rid of all of the people, some of the deformed monsters had started attacking each other, pushing the weakest away and sending them out of the zone but as they were the weakest and mostly alone, they didn't fare for long.
Ilmna demonstrated her lack of politeness by barging in loudly, without even knocking on the door, even if it wasn't locked, none would expect that from a hero.
"Why didn't you do it before? Why did you wait so long? Are you not gonna do it?" a voice called out, knight Dieuril reacted quickly and pointed his blade at the source of the voice, right behind him.
"Is something the matter?" asked Milleral, the hero hadn't heard a thing and only saw the knight suddenly tense up and square up.
"I-" he was interrupted by the same voice, once again speaking right behind him.
"I tried! I don't know what is happening..." spoke the voice, acting as though it was responding to the earlier comments despite having been the one to speak them aloud.
"Wait..."
"Wait..."
The voice spoke twice with only a milisecond of difference between the two words, Dieuril kept on moving but the voice kept on coming from behind him, as though the person was right on his back and speaking with their head stuck to the back of his helm.
"Ah..."
"Ah..."
The two words had less time in between them, as if the words were becoming one.
Milleral squinted at the knight as he took a step back, he had been wary of him since the start and now he was definitely acting strange, not only strange but highly suspicious instead of silly.
"I see"
"I see"
The words were on the verge of assembling together.
"You are not me, neither are you him!" the voice was whole and spoke directly to the knight, suddenly, he collapsed and fell as if he was nothing but a heavy chunk of metal.
Milleral wasn't sure what to do, something was definitely wrong here but may he be damned, he couldn't even begin to guess whether the knight was an enemy or if he was having a stroke, the knight's presence acted exactly as if he had lost consciousness, so attacking him like that felt wrong.
But only for a little while as his presence soon reemerged, not alone or rather, as if another one had strapped onto it.
"That fool Dieuril is long dead! I shouldn't have kept impersonating him!" cursed the extra presence at the other one.
The knight tried to fight back but it couldn't hurt its true self, so it forced itself inside of the true presence and merged with it.
"Hold on-" the voice yelled as the two presences or rather, two personalities merged together forcefully, none winning against the other and creating something new, something unstable.
All of this happened nearly instantly, Dieuril acting weird, collapsing, erupting with a vile aura and then standing up, his head was down and his back slouched over.
The snake shaped itself into a pike as the hero aimed to pierce right through the armor and nape of the knight right here and there but missing completely as the knight did the unthinkable.
He simply walked away, swaying his arms and moving his legs as if fighting against a powerful current, he completely ignored the attack and succesfully evaded it.
As the heroine brought out the potential allies, inquiring about the aura, which had clearly belonged to a sin of some sort.
A few moments after starting to walk away, the scenery around the knight morphed and changed, quickly returning to normal before starting to change again.
Inside of the knight's head however, things weren't so slow as outside, the fake personality of the heroic knight Dieuril was slowly being consumed by the original owner of this demented body.
Doing so by affirming itself as the original one, remembering its own past.
From the outside however, the knight seemed absent, walking straight in a random direction as his powers ran wild, no one present could know what his abilities were for the true nature of his sin were unknown, while his aura was clearly one of a sin bearer, the two heroes had met Wrath and Ilmna had met another lesser sin, letting her realise that the knight was too.
What was clear was that his ability only acted within a few meters around himself and was weaker the further it was from the center of it as the surroundings were much more warped the closer it was.
"Are you two going to let him go?" questioned the potential ally they had gotten here to try and get, who was none other than Molarine.
"We need to get an idea of his abilities first..." responded the hero of the snake.
"Any idea Laura?"
"He warps divinations too, they destroy themselves, literally" responded the woman in a wheelchair that had just made its way over.
Molarine picked up a rock and threw it clearly enough strength to burst a whole through such an armor but once the rock got too close to the lesser sin, it was as though it struck a hard wall, shattering into pieces.
It didn't act as if it had hit a barrier however.
"It was as if the rock hit against another rock thrown with the same strength" remarked the heroine as she sent a rock herself, the same result occuring again but as she threw it at different angle, it made the process clearer as a copy of the rock emerged from within the rock itself in front of its trajectory, carrying its momentum and strength.
"I would recommend taking it down quickly, it looks like he is out of it for now, he most likely isn't actually using his power at its full extent and unconsciously at that" remarked Molarine as she started walking after it, her long dark coat fluttering in the wind as she fearlessly approached the sin.
