Chapter 94 - On The Path To Flying

Tonight, three moons had come out and aligned perfectly, from Wrath's point of view, it was as though a single moon with three colors was out this night.

The three different moonlight were gorgeous but Wrath couldn't appreciate the beauty has she would rather stare down into the abyss beneath her.

After avoiding confrontation with the two heroes and unexpected guest, she had stayed on top of the abandoned temple and walked up to this particular part, she grabbed the handle of a sword strapped to her back, the handle sizzled her skin but it helped her remember the words of Edwind, The Former Patience.

"Fly away..." she muttered, the sword was special beyond being that of Edwind, it was a true artefact that had been infused with the virtue of patience and even if lacking in that departement, it had a mind of its own.

The sword had guided her for a long while, until then it had seemed like the sword wanted nothing more than put her through challenges but this time, it had led her to this abandoned temple and this pit.

She had first thought that the answer was inside but it had instead been on the roof of it.

"Fly away..." she repeated under her breath, Edwind had used these specific words, he hadn't mean it as in fleeing or going away, he must have truly been telling her to try and fly.

Such a notion would have seemed ridiculous to her before but after fighting more and more, it had truly felt like her body remembered something that her mind had completely forgotten, just like he had said.

Even if she had still been capable of exterminating her opponents without much problems, she had noticed that she had tendency to attempt attacks that could only be completed swiftly by flying though the air.

She took a step forward, both her feet were halfway between the ground and the pit, even if she couldn't fly, she would surely be able to survive the fall but she didn't consider failure, she coul feel muscles move in her back, muscles that seemed to awaken from a long slumber.

Since it was easy to imagine was it was, she removed her blue coat and the subsequent ample white shirt beneath, leaving her torso with only the bandages meant to be a bra.

The bandages would probably get in the way but the idea had been not to ruin her clothes, she had more bandages, she stretched her muscles and let her body drop forward, dropping down head first as some blood and pus seemed from her left eye.

She disappeared in the darkness of the pit, a few seconds passed without anything else happening but after a few more moments, as if the sun had risen, all of the darkness was banished for a few seconds, the pit was bathed in white light.

From the explosion of whiteness, a pillar of the same coloring arose, illuminating the surroundings for less than a second, so little time than most who witnessed it would think that it was nothing but a trick of their minds.

Once the blinding illumination settled, soaring through the air silently and rapidly landing on the roof of the forsaken temple, Wrath with now two pristine white wings emerging from her back.

The two wings stretched like two stiffened arms before balling up around Wrath's body and then repeating this two actions a few more times.

Even though she had been assigned to the cardinal sin of wrath, she hadn't displayed even an ounce of the kind of anger that could be expected of her, now, this choice of the system made for sense to her as she now remembered crucial pieces of information.

Putting her clothes back on after her wings fused themselves into her back again, she grabbed the sword on her back, the sizzling now more prominent than before but also less noticeable.

"Thanks Edwind" she thanked the virtue before going away, she now had a big task to accomplish.

"Did you see that flash of light?" asked the hero of the snake as the snake flicked its tongue loudly.

"What flash? I must have blinked" responded the other heroine.

The drama knight however, had gone completely silent, staring in the direction the light had come from as though stunned.

The front of his helm seemed to melt for a second and a bubble formed before going back to normal almost immediately, the knight touched the front of his helm as he seemed to have noticed the strange occurence but moved his ganted hand back immediately, as if it was burning hot.

"This must be a sign! The heavens gave us a sign, we must go on!" he exclaimed as if nothing had happened and walked to the front, Milleral had clearly seen the occurence as well and squinted his eyes but chose to act oblivious for the moment.

"Anyways, if we want to find and destroy the lesser sins, we'll need a way to do both of those, defeating and killing them could be difficult if they don't have a physical form and finding them is probably the hardest part, they aren't very flashy and have been staying under the radar for the most part" he then spoke up.

"So we need to find more allies, got it, where will we be looking for them?" asked Ilmna.

"Firstly, I heard of an otherworlder that could help us find the lesser sins easily, so we'll start with her and see if she could help us find other possible allies, I thought that we could enlist the otherworlders that kept appearing, if they don't get slaughtered before we can get to them that is" he revealed, otherworlders weren't inhabitants of this world, as such he didn't have any problem with using them as cannon fodder.

He didn't know if he would even be able to deal with the lesser sins but even so, he planned on taking down the weakest sins afterward, he wasn't nearly as confident in that regard as weakest was quite subjective when talking about a sin.

When talking about monsters beyond his comprehension, ranking them based on one another wasn't the best idea.
