Chapter 91 - Revelations

"So anyways, what was this about the black knights? Did you learn where they came from?" asked Ilmna as she turned to the serpentine hero.

"Not at all, they all seem immune to any inspection ability but I heard that one with different gear and capable of speaking showed up, I mostly wanted to know if you knew what was the deal this new wave of otherworlders" spoke Milleral, the voice of the knight sounding in the background as the two heroes spoke to one another.

"I am as clueless as you on that matter but I wouldn't call it a wave, only a few appeared so far and I am fairly certain they all got killed already, didn't they, by a black knight that doesn't carry a shield?" she said hesitantly, not certain if her words were facts or rubbish.

"By the way, I didn't get the occasion but do you really think heading straight for the main sins is a good idea? I would rather get the lesser ones out of the way before" spoke the heroine as they both started to walk in the direction Wrath had come from.

Passing by the overly dramatic knight without him even noticing that he was being left behind, the hero of the snake thought for a second.

"Well, I mostly found about this by a fluke and thought that I might as well investigate it right now, it might lead to some anti-lust specific weapon or something but I do agree that taking care of the lesser sins beforehand would be preferable..."

The lesser sins were quite a bizarre bunch, from what had been seen from them so far, they tended to be morphed monstrosities and seemed much more consumed by their sins than the seven cardinal sins.

Which was strange since the seven main sins were supposed to be much worse than the venial sins but it only indicated that they were much more in control of it than the lesser sins, however, that aspect of the venial sins made some of them more troublesome than the actual sins.

Negotiating with a lesser sin was a difficult endeavor, they were mad and were closer to vessel for the concepts of their sins than actual people, unlike the cardinal sins.

Still, defeating any of the main sins was difficult to envision, if the old records were to be trusted, to fight any on even footing, one would need to be a virtue.

It was said that a sin was most susceptible to the attack of the opposing virtue but the opposite was also true.

"What do you think Wrath was doing here in the first place? She didn't seem to have known that we would be here" questionned the goedendag wielder.

"I am also wondering about that, this place has been thoroughly explored many times and I personally also explored it myself but everything is completely empty, unless there is a secret passage of some sort" responded the snake eyed hero as they found themselves in a dead end.

Before Milleral could even start breathing, Ilmna was already breaking down the place with her club, not feeling capable of stopping her, he only sighed and backed to avoid becoming collateral damage.

It seemed like Wrath had only been wasting her time as there was nothing, Ilmna had torn down the place good but there was no sign of anything but normal walls here.

"Oh, breaking down the walls made me think of something I heard!" shouted Ilmna as she raised her deadly club in the air, a gesture Milleral could only interpret as being her version of raising the index finger.

"You know the big island? The one closest to this continent with high elves on it?"

"Yes, I think it is just called the High Elven Island, what about it?"

"Apparently, the high elves have been trying to exterminate a species of lesser elves that also lived on the island since forever but the lesser elves have suddenly started fighting back with success!" she revealed.

"How could lesser elves that have been getting slaughtered for who knows how long be capable of fighting back against high elves?"

"That's where it gets interesting, they have been unified under a being called The Crystalian, I thought you might want to know about this guy, I thought he may be another lesser sin or something" concluded the heroine as the sound of the dramatic knight getting closer sounded out.

"I see... Do you anything else about this?" asked Milleral and waited for several seconds before she managed to excavate her memories.

"Ah yes, to make the high elves possible allies, the kingdom of Goire sent their three otherworlders to lend a hand or so I hear"

Sir Dieuril made his reappearance after being left behind, not seeming quite as goofy as before and more alert.

"My apologies for the antics, I just can't help myself once I start, I originally meant to ask for your assistance..."

"For you see! I am on a mission! One to take out the ones responsible for the circle of madness that has been expanding at a dreadful speed..."

"What's the circle of madn-"

"And by 'the ones' I mean the lesser sins! Oath Breaker has already bitten the dust by my blade, I am not certain about their exact numbers but they are numerous and each mortal threats to the joyful peace of this world!"

"They have all gathered on this continent for their masters are also all here, now is the perfect time to vanquish these evils before felling the greater evils and then we shall slay the ancient evil which also resides on this continent, this continent truly his unlucky!" exclaimed the knight, quicly going back to his antics.

"Hold on a moment, you know for certain that all of the sins main and lesser are here? And what is this ancient evil you speak of?" Milleral shook the knight by his shoulders.

"I do, in fact, know that they are all here and the ancient evil I speak of is of course the dreadful conqueror of the desert in Aeraliun, the last remnant of the former sins, the former Gluttony!"

"I do not know why, but I feel as though he can not be left alone anymore, he should have been fully eliminated long ago and yet, even after the apparition of the new sins, he still clings onto life but he shall be left for last, I don't have a clue as to how to defeat him!" exclaimed Dieuril as he fell to his knees like the drama queen that he was.
