"Great magus! Are you certain about this?" asked a concerned man dressed in robe, an emblem was on the back of it, sign that he was a mage Aeraliun.
"Yes I am, you have seen for yourself, the seer has never been wrong about her visions and divinations, do you not realise how dangerous the sins are?" spoke the great magus, he was the ruler of Aeraliun.
Aeraliun was a large country but it was mostly composed of a large desert, a fully sentient desert at that, the amount of land they could actually used was much smaller, only their utter focus on the magical arts allowed them to stand out.
"But still, the otherworlders summoned this way are very dubious in quality, if you intend on summoning a great number of them, how will you ensure that they don't go out of line? We don't have what it takes to control a great number of them!" pleaded the young mage, fully aware of what such an action could cause, no one in their right mind should even consider it.
"The seer said that the sins were powerful, she insisted heavily on that, recently summoned otherworlders, even if blessed upon arrival, will never be able to hold a candle to them!" he continued, mages operated the same way scientists did and followed logic and sense, the great magus was the same and yet...
"Silence Nilrem, do you think anyone in this world can take them on?" asked the great magus in a heavy tone.
"Is it really worth it though? The former sins had caused destruction because some of their members were primordial beings, the former Pride had had an hand in the construction of this world if the texts are to be trusted and yet, they didn't bring the end of the world! The new generations can not possibly be stronger! Why such a strong reaction then?!" Nilrem put his arguments forward, convinced that he was right, it was ridivculous to think contrary to him in this situation.
"Nilrem, the seer didn't tell you everything, the sins are indeed a threat, that is for certain but there is worse, you should have noticed it" spoke the great magus unperturbed by the words of the young mage.
"Didn't you hear? On the closest continent to ours, a war is raging between the high elves and the lesser elves, the lesser elves are led by mysterious figure, the crystalian they call him, our own desert has started to show strange movements since a while, coincidental with the apparition of those new sins, there is also all those anomalous beings that have been surfacing for a while" the great magus spoke in length, confusing the young mage as he mentioned various things, not all linked to each other.
"Can't you see it? So many things are happening at once, do you think the crystalian will stop with this continent? Do you think the sentient desert isn't going to do anything? Do you think those strange beings are but a coincidence? No Nilrem, no" the tone of the great magus darkened.
"Something is happening and the sins aren't as harmless as you might believe, they may not be primordial beings like their predecessor but what do you think is worse? Beings beyond our comprehension wielding great power or beings that are close to us? Beings like us?" the great magus gazed down on the young mage, making him pale a bit.
"A god has no much care for us but they aren't gods, they are just like us in a sense, it was as if you or me had been given these sins, can you see what I mean?"
"Also, the former sins had the virtues standing in their ways, particularly Patience I hear, it is said that they are the one who defeated all of the sins one by one or at least the great majority but the seer is certain of it, no virtues have appeared alongside the sins" added the great magus.
Before the young mage could retort with something, the great magus had already predicted it.
"That all seven of them can somehow get under the sight of the seer when none of the sins could? That is a pipe dream Nilrem, we have no virtues to defend us, the world is entering an age of chaos, I am certain of it, only by throwing chaos of ours can we hope to make it through" said the great magus.
"I understand great magus, fight fire with fire but are you really certain about this?" the young mage still wasn't convinced, only then did the great magus show an hint of worry.
"I do not know but I will not stand by and watch, hoping that this won't spread to Aeraliun, the otherworlders will serve as line of defense at the very least, we will feed them the same lies that drove the last batch of them to do anything and see how it goes" responded the magus, the worry on his face was quickly hidden and only the ever calm mage remained.
From a corner in front of them, the sound of hands clapping was heard, the young mage was slightly frightened as they should be the only ones around at the moment, the great magus raised his hand, signaling him to calm down as he addressed the person that was hiding with utter perfection, none of the two mages had noticed anything until the person chose to make their presence known.
"I thought I had been clear about this, Ithelisemou" he said and soon, the man appeared, wearing the same ragged clothes as usual but still appearing very refined in the eyes of the young mage.
"Well, great magus, it seems like you are going to do something interesting" he said walking close to the great magus.
"You really enter this high security place without any difficulty, huh?" spoke the magus.
"What can I say except, mes excuses?" responded Theli, the magus ignored the words he couldn't understand and went to the point.
"Your timing is awfully good as always Ithelisemou, what are you doing here?" he asked in a firm tone, the young mage noticed that the great magus was on guard, as if worried about the man in front of him.
"Oh my, please keep your insinuations to yourself, I am only hear because I heard the words 'otherworlders' and 'summoning' so close to one another, no one does that anymore this days, must be because of the previous fiasco but it seems like you are willing to repeat history" spoke the man, his smile revealing his sharp teeth.
'Is he not human?' wondered Nilrem and immediately, his eyes met that of the man.
"I would love to see how you are going to go about it, I am an expert in summoning you know? Let me help you with this mistake of yours" he said, the magus only sighed, knowing that he wouldn't be able to refuse and led the way.
"Oh hey, Nilrem right? I am human just like you, you could even say that there is no one more human than me at the moment" he said with the same sleazy and soft smile that he seemed to always wear.
Nilrem didn't realise it but these words meant much more than that.
