Chapter 15 - A Country Full Of Sin

"Ah, that a prosperous looking country, too bad it's mostly on the cultural side" spoke Greed in tone as dry as someone could expect from her appearance, her golden strands that served as wig slightly floated in the strong breeze.

The duest imbued in her clothing remained unmoved in this instant however.

"What are you going to do? Rush in and murder everything that seems even remotely important until everything collapses or something?" she then asked the sin next to her, while Greed was leisurely sitting down on the edge of an abandoned stone wall, the one next to her stood firm and tall, her expression unreadable as she gazed down on the unhabitants of the small city they were gazing upon.

"Of course not, I am not a mindless catastrophe" she responded simply as she turned to Greed.

"Those people, those creations, they will doom themselves, I only need to light a spark, they will be the one to cause its eruption into a fire" she added before dropping down and starting to walk toward the city, already unsheating one of her blades.

"Hoi, did you just drop a metaphor on me Wrath? What do you mean by spark?" asked Greed but Wrath did not respond and only walked further into the distance, her dark red hair fluttering strongly into the air, covering the spike driven through her skull as she approached the guard at the entrance of the small city.

The walls surrounding it were made out of trees barks, only a single, haggard looking guard was stationed at the entrance, his appearance suggested that he was one of those weak beastman, what kind he was exactly did not matter.

Before he could question Wrath about her unusual appearance, he found out that he couldn't speak for she had already carved his throat open, chopping off his vocal cords in the process, he stumbled to the ground as quickly lost blood, a pained and surprised expression forever stuck on his face as he died without anyone noticing it, no one was going through the gates and no one else was around to check on him.

The slash had been so fast that Wrath's saber remained untouched by blood as she sheathed it back next to the other blade, walking into the city with the same look she always wore, a cold and disinterested look that made the passersby avoid her as she headed for the only good place to light a spark.

This city, which name would soon be forgotten by all, was found in the UCT or United Central Tribes, a country which, as his name implied, was composed of various tribes of many species.

Central because it stood in the center of the continent or rather, it extended into its center, it was quite the lengthy country that tended to change size very often, it lacked a clear leadership so most of the tribes ruled over themselves, the only thing that was consistent throughout the whole country was their worship of a certain god named Toutatis, everyone wanted to be the ones that were the most devout to him, resulting in some sort of competition amongst the tribes.

This was why such pathetic city had such a luxurious place of worship, it dwarfed the other constructions by far and was built out of hard stone, decorated with tribal signs of all kinds, the priests and priestesses were closer to being druids and the paladins were just barbarians that understood the pros of wearing armor.

They didn't wear it very well but they understood that it was important.

Wrath stepped in this building, the interior was as enormous as the outside suggested, a herd of elephant would be able to fit in here with no problem and yet, it was almost full of people at the moment, many sizes and appearances but all dressed the same way, either in robes or in armor, this place was almost filled the brim with nothing but paladins and priests.

They were all busy doing their prayer to pay attention to Wrath at the moment, she closed the doors in a natural manner, no one did anything, no one wanted to interrupt the prayer and since no one was doing anything, those that did notice thought that nothing was wrong.

She latched the locks on and squeezed the until it seemed as though they had melted for good measure, then she grabbed a mace that had been layed against a wall and chucked in directly into the face of the statue they were worshipping, for as good of a sculpture it was, it was shattered by the powerful throw.

For a few moments, only the sound of a few rubbles falling to the ground were heard as everyone processed what was happening, anger swelled up in their hearts at the sight of their desecrated god and to push it even further, the one responsible for it spoke a few words.

"Is none of you going to defend the honor of your false god?" she simply said, a wave of red energy traveled across the whole room and everybody but Wrath saw red.

The enraged worshippers started attacking the first person in sight, turning the serene atmosphere of the prayer into a bloody slugfest similar to what one could see in a bar full of drunkards.

"You people love unleashing your anger don't you? Even if misdirected" muttered wrath as she prepared to intercept the one paladin that had decided to attack her.

The fellow had forgotten to put his helm back on, as many had, resulting in him being blinded as she poked his eyeballs before getting him into a hold from behind and snapping his neck as if it was a twig.

The priests were also in on the slugfest, having seemingly forgotten that they could use holy magic, in fact, everyone seemed to have forgotten how to actually fight, no one swung their weapon with even an hint of training, all forgot that defense existed and pain did nothing but feed their wrath.

Wrath walked through this mess and took part at every occasion, stomping on the heads and limbs of those that had fallen down, shattering them without any issue even through the plates of their armors.

A priest swung a dagger at her, in response to this act of aggression, she grabbed his arm to stop him, twisting it completely and she grasped his hand to help him keep a hold of his weapon and pushed the arm with the dagger toward his throat, slowly driving it through before grabbing his twitching body and throwing it at the back of a paladin.

Turning around, she backhand a priestess in the jaw, knocking out many teeth and breaking her neck in the process, she gladly accepted the pike she had been holding and threw it in the eye of a nearby paladin, watching stumble back and crack his skull on a sharp corner.

The people outside soon witnessed what was happening inside when Wrath tossed a paladin through one of the stained glass that depicted complete nonsense.

The paladin had been unfortunate for one of the shattered glass to lodge itself into his throat only allowing to take a few steps after standing back up before crumbling down.

Thirty minutes after the start of this, the sealed doors of the church were kicked open as sizable amount of lifeless corpse slid out as they had been laying against it, walking out, covered in blood that wasn't hers, Wrath still wore the same expression as usual, the blood almost invisible in her hair.

The inhabitants had since long deserted the area after seeing a paladin thrown out like a piece of trash, waiting outside was Greed, a toothless smile on her dried face.

"You call that a 'spark'?" she asked, amused that Wrath would use such a vocabulary to speak of massacring hundreds of people.

"Yes, what else could it be? I kicked the beehive and will now wait for the bees to come buzzing out" she said, using another metaphor as she walked back toward the entrance of the city, the few people that saw her didn't try to do anything to stop her even if they were guards, they were smart enough to know how that would end, the oppresive aura she emmited was powerful enough to be felt by even the most basic of commoners.

"Are you not going to wait for them in the church?" questionned greed.

"No, it reeks in there" responded Wrath as the blood that covered her and her clothes started to disappear.

"Also, what are you even doing here Greed? I recall telling you that I intended on carrying it out all by myself" she then asked a question of her own.

"I am just here to keep you company, did you pay attention to how much these guys had in their pockets and how much all the stuff laying around was worth? I could sell those for lots of coins" spoke greed, her dried face was extremely expressive but some thing were still missing, clearly, had she not been in a state of mummification, she would have been drooling at an excessive rate.

Wrath stared at her with her only eye for a few minutes.

"You people are truly indescribable" she spoke in a low tone as Greed continued to indulge herself into her coins fantasies.
