PHOEBE MADEENA was happy to take her towel and went out of her home. The sweet smile plastered on her lips when the beautiful and tall trees appeared in her sight. The wind blown making her long and straight brown hair danced with it. She covered her hair.
"Are you going to swim in the sea again?" An old man asked her when he saw her outside. Everyone that lives in the island calls him Tata Olly.
HE is a healer. He passed by her house to pick herbs on the other side of the Island. That is what he is used for in treatment.
Phoebe nodded at this. "Good morning to you, Tata! Yes, because the other day I didn't go there because I went to my friend's house, I slept there. Did the medicine you took the other day run out immediately?" she asked Tata Olly when she saw him carrying a small basket, she walked with him.
They are going down to go to the sea. Phoebe's house is close to the sea so she always goes there to swim or go out for a walk. Phoebe also has a habit of doing this every day, swimming in the sea.
The old man was passing by to go to where he was getting the medicinal plant. It was fast is he going along the seashore to get there. It's too steep and far away when going through the jungle.
"Yes, Phoebe. Many people got sick in the town yesterday, I didn't expect this to happen one after the other." Phoebe notices the old man's hurry voice.
"Alright, Tata! Just be careful. I'll be there first." Phoebe pointed to the old man in the direction of the cave where she was staying.
The old man nodded his head before leaving. Phoebe smiled widely and ran excitedly to the cave. She will return home later in the afternoon, so she will stay in the cave where she hangs out when she is at the sea.
When she reached the cave, she immediately entered it. She snorted when she saw that the stones she had placed were submerged again. Phoebe thinks it's because of the heavy wave last night so she just shrugged. Before going out, she arranged the stones, placed them in the right place. She put the towel there and happily went to the sea to walk.
The wind is so relaxing. That's why she also chose to live near the sea. If only she could live in the cave, she would like to, but it's difficult when the wave gets stronger, it will reach the cave.
She looked at the far side of the sea where the towering buildings could be seen. Even from a distance, she can see its height.
"When can I go there again? Shaella hasn't called me yet," she whispered, referring to her cousin who works in the city.
She walked slowly. When she turned her gaze to the left side she was stunned. Phoebe saw something in that part. It was far away from the cave and her place but she immediately noticed it because the color of its clothes was too attention-grabbing.
What is it?
Phoebe slowly walked towards that part. Every step she took was gentle. She felt nervous and scared when she saw that its human shape.
"What..." she said in shock and came even closer. Even though there was a tremor in her chest, she braced herself.
She couldn't help but be surprised to see that it was, a man. He was lying down on his stomach. She could not see the man's face because she was facing in the right side.
She looked for something that could she strike him in case he is a bad person. She just want to be prepared. She saw a piece of wood on her side so she immediately took it. She pointed it at the man as she approached him.
"Who are you?" She spoke loudly to him but he didn't move and answer.
When she reached the man's place, she gently stuck the wood she was holding to his body and shook it hard. He still not moving. And Phoebe realized that the man was unconscious.
She sat down and patted his arm. She was even shocked because the man's arm was too stiff. Is it a stone arm? Why is it so hard? Her childhood friend Caldwell, didn't have that kind of arm.
"Mister?" She kept tapping on him but she didn't get any response.
Phoebe scratched her head, also sniffling because she couldn't think of anything she can do. She looked around to ask for help but she remembered that no one was heading there. She and Tata Olly are the only person who go to the south side, where she lives.
Tata Olly is just passing by to get some medicinal herbs and will be back later this afternoon. When people go fishing, they always head on the other side, on the east side.
She looked behind the cave that was meters away from her. Phoebe nodded her head and looked back at the man who had a stone arm. She made the man face her with all her might.
"Come on!" She cover her mouth when she finally saw his face.
The man is handsome. She couldn't help but stare at him. How did this adonis land on the island? The shape of his face is so perfect. His eyebrows are thick. The nose is sharp, so it can stab you for sure. Also have a double eye-lid combo. Moles on his lower lip, above his right nostril, and under his right eyelid near his waterline.
When her eyes landed on his lips, she snorted. The shape of his lips are subtle. His upper lip is slightly longer and rounded than his longer lip. Her heart beat faster and faster as she raised her hand to touch his face but then she stopped herself not to.
How could his lips be redder than her? She licked her lips and looked down at the man in front of her.
She stared at him for a few seconds before slowly taking both of his hands and lifting them up. She just hope she can pull him to the cave.
"Sorry, but I have no choice but to pull you." Phoebe frowned before she stood up, still holding both his hands.
Phoebe knew that the man was heavy but she didn't expect him to be heavier than she thought. She couldn't even move him from its place the first time she tried to pull him. She just stomped her feet in annoyance.
"What kind of human are you! Why are you so heavy?" she said to the unconscious man.
After 12345678 years she also brought him to the cave. She was sweating profusely and her whole body hurt because of his weight. Did he consume all the fish in the sea? He's really heavy.
His weight is no longer for one person. It's not fair for her! Even the men living on Green Island are not this heavy.
"I don't know why I'm helping you!" She looked at him with a frown.
Even when she pulled her earlier, she was staring at the man's face. She had a hard time taking her eyes off of him. She didn't know but her heart was beating fast. She couldn't explain her feelings. She felt it for the first time. It's weird. She also felt nervous and scared, she didn't know what that nervousness and fear was for.
She could see the scars on his body but they weren't too bad and serious. He also has a wound on the head, she saw earlier when she pulled him.
Phoebe used her towel for making it as his pillow temporarily. She wanted to take him to her house so she can treat him but he was too heavy. She can't do it.
Phoebe just stared at him while waiting for him to wake up. Any woman would stare at this man. She can't even avoid her eyes with him. He's like a magnet because even she wanted to she avoids her gaze, it just come back to him. She sighed and leaned against the wall.
"It took you a while to wake up."
Because of the long wait, she was already feeling sleepy. The lids of her eyes were slowly closing when she heard a low moan.
"Hmmm."
She quickly opened her eyes and they immediately widened when she looked at the man. He moved as she move to her seat. She crawled over to his head and peered at him from there. She could clearly see his eyes slowly opening and his red lips twitching.
Until his green eyes and her chocolate eyes met. They stared at each other for more than minutes. No one wants to avoid at all.
"Are you okay?" Phoebe asked the man worriedly as he blinked.
Sawyer tried to move his head but he winced when it hurt. It seemed to be hit by something.
Phoebe saw him trying to sit up so she quickly supported him. She's very careful not to hurt him.
"Take it easy, Mister," she stated as he sat down properly.
When the man looked at her she backed away. His green eyes were cold, lifeless. Phoebe bowed her head because she couldn't meet his gaze.
Phoebe can't stop her heart from beating it fast. Her heart beat spontaneously. Why does he seem so attractive?
"Who are you?" She looked up at him. She was about to answer when he spoke again. "W-Who am I? What happened to me? Fuck! My head hurt."
She was almost stunned by what she heard from him. What...Why was he asking her such a thing? What does she know about his name? What does she know about what happened him? She know's nothing! And did she really hear him cuss?
Phoebe was stunned for a moment. Why does he ask for his name? Does he not know? If he ask them both, he's should be the one who knew that.
"Ah because...its.." How will she told it? She let out a sigh. The man was still staring at her, wondering. "The truth is that I don't know your name or what happened with you. I only saw you on the seashore lying and unconscious."
Sawyer didn't say anything. Phoebe observed the gradual furrowing of his forehead while still staring at her. She was surprised when the man suddenly grabbed his own head and grimaced, as if in pain.
"Mister? Oh my god! Are you okay? Where does it hurt?" Phoebe didn't know why she could hear fear and worry in her voice.
What is happening to him? She approached the man and tried to remove his hand that was pulling his hair. It's like she was hurt by what he does to himself.
In all her life, she has never experienced pulling her hair, . She shook her head and held both of his shoulders.
"What are you doing?" She snorted as he stared at her again.
"I can't remember anything. Fuck! What happened?" His voice weakened in the end. His eyes fell on the clothes he was wearing. "I'm wet. I have many wounds too."
He just woke up but he's now cussing. Was he not taught good manners? Can she just teach him?
