Kael didn't say much, he just silently sheathed the short knife and hung it at his waist, saying,
"I'll take this; now listen to me and take off your gloves."
Elanna hummed softly and said in a low voice, "Kael, as a gentleman, you shouldn't casually take off a girl's gloves, you know."
"I'm just afraid someone is being too stubborn." Kael closed in on Elanna, trapping her in the corner by the door. Only then did he notice that Elanna, who usually didn't care for "perfectly mannered" noble etiquette, was uncharacteristically wearing a pair of white gloves today.
Seeing that there was nowhere to hide, she had no choice but to let Kael take off her gloves. Sure enough, her hands underneath were covered in scars.
Elanna looked at him helplessly and said, "They're just minor injuries; it's nothing serious. Kael, don't look so serious!"
