Valeria's POV šš
I quickly dressed up in my peach coloured bodycon dress whichĀ reached a little above my knee and applied minimal makeup and lipgloss.Ā I brushed my long wavy hair letting it down .
After putting on my 6 inch silverĀ heel,I matched downstairs in a hurry.
I didn't know why but I felt so excited.
"Ohh look how pretty you are dear, hope you have a great day ",Gran said as soon as I came down.
"Thanks Gran, ", I said with a smiley face.
Then I heard the sound of footsteps behind me .
I turned to find Jevan looking at meĀ holding a perturbed expression but soon erased it off.
"You ready?",he asked with his hands in his side pockets.
"Not yet", I said sarcastically leading the way as I bid grandma goodbye. I felt his presence behind as we headed towards the garage.
I couldn't believe his had a nice garage filled up with cars.Ā There were at least seven of them I admired. He led me to the latest sleek black Hundai Lynx .
"You own this?", I asked him once we hit the road. He looked at me and nodded confidently as he drove.
I felt him constantly stealing glances at me which made me self conscious,then I caught him.
"What?", I asked him when I caught him red handed. He quickly averted his gaze as he gave off a smirk.
"Don't you think you are showing off too much skin?", Jevan suddenly spoke up.
I cringedĀ at his poor taste in fashion and faced him squarely.
"Like I told you before, you don't get to dictate on what I should put on ". "You should get used to my taste in fashion. From the way you've been complaining, I can tell you have a poor taste in fashion".
"Ok woman, I'm not going to say anything else", I heard him whisper .
We reached a very tall buildingĀ with the name "Walters Industries Limited" as the Skyscraper on top of the building. I gawked as I got out to check out the outside view of the building.
Wow. Is this where he works?
He led me to the elevator as we headed to his office which was on the fifth floor.
As soon as we got to his floor, people who seem to be in their cabins stood up to welcome him.
"Good morning Jevan..uh.. I mean Mr Walters", a lady approached as to say, then I recognized her instantly.
"Good morning Ms Mundo,I'd like to introduce to you Valeria MelBrown, my girlfriend. "I believe you've met before", Jevan said out of no where which made me gawk at him
Girlfriend?? Really?
"Oh it's nice to meet you again Ms Valeria",she extended her hand to greet me but I ignored her.
"Well, I thought I'd never see your face again", I told her
"Jevan, please take me to your office I'm tired standing on my heels", I continued as I brushed past her.

"Valerie, what was all that about?", Jevan said once we reached his office.
I sat comfortably on a beige couch located opposite to his table where he sat as he scribbled down something in a document.
"What? I just hate her guts, that's all", I frankly told him as I removed my heels.
"She was been polite enough to offer you a hand as a way to welcome you and what did you do in return?", Jevan said.
"What's wrong with that? Huh? Do you seem to have an affair with yourĀ female subordinates?
"What are you implying?",Jevan asked.
"Do you go round kissing your female employees?", I said through gritted teeth.
" What,are you jealous if I did?
"I'm not! And why should I be jealous?."JustĀ that it's unprofessional and you know! ", I told him feeling angry.
"I didn't do anything unprofessional. "She kissed me unknowingly and I made her apologize that's all I have to explain to you".
"Huh? What about me?", I asked him.
"What about you?",
"Why did you say I'm your girlfriend when you know that wasn't the truth?
"I have my reasons dear, I 'll tell you later",Jevan said before he picked an incoming call.
"I'm here, yeah sure you can bring it for submission",he continued then hung up.
I raised my brow at him when our eyes met.
"What?
"So you are the CEO of this place and you didn't tell me? ".
He chuckled and shook hisĀ head.
"You never asked anyway",he said.
"What about your waiting job? Why that? It makes no sense
"That too, I owned the restaurant",he said.
To say I was surprised to hear him say that was an understatement.
"Oh? Then why stoop low to work alongside with the cooks and waiters? As a CEO, your place should be at the office not the other way round", I told him
"I get bored if I sit in the office all day long". Besides, I love cooking and it doesn't hurt to do that with them",he said .
"That's absurd, my dad will never stoop low to that extent", I sighed.
"What would you like to drink? ",He asked smiling.
"Well..Get me a strawberry smoothie
Then ,there was a knock at the door.
A handsome young man entered with a file in hand.
"Wow, you must be Valerie, I'm Kevin, Jevan's long time friend and his PA of this noble institution",he said giving me a handshake.
"Nice to meet you Kevin,
"My pleasure sweetheart, Jevan'sĀ being always talking about you . "HeĀ Ā can't stop talking about you". "You look beautiful in person, too bad my friend here didn't describe you well ", Kevin said
"Enough Kevin, hand over the documents".
"Woah man,you failed to describe your baby well",Kevin said
"Kevin?! Go continue your job", Jevan said to him while putting the documents on his desk and leaving to the fridge to grab me a strawberry smoothie.
"Awwn aren't you sweet,"I heard Kevin say to Jevan as he handed me smoothie.
"Kevin do you want to loose your job?", Jevan said with a glare.
Oh c'mon chill man, you know you can't say that. Uh.. I mean you can say but can't do",Kevin said with a grin.
"Try anything stupid and see if I can't", Jevan said as he took a sit behind his desk and continued working while I sat on the couch in front of his desk enjoying my smoothie.
"Ugh.. oh hi again Valeria, there'll be a party tonight,hope you don't mind joining?",Kevin asked me.
"I'd love to Kevin.
I felt Jevan's glare on us but I grinned at him .
"Great, I can't wait to introduce you to everyone and also dance with you", Kevin said looking towards Jevan's direction.
"Would you leave already?!", Jevan's voice boomed.
"Ah-uh I gotta go before my boss slices off my head from my neck",Kevin said rushing to the door after winking at Jevan who gave him a deadly glare.
Jevan sighed softly after Kevin left rubbing his chest.
"I likeĀ him", I said all of a sudden catching his attention.
"Huh?
