Ava was afraid to ring the doorbell. She was aware that her mother would be upset with her if she got wet in the rain. She had no other options, though. She then found the keys in her bag and went to the back door. She opened the door after inserting the keys into the lock. She entered the house quietly, taking care to not make a sound as she entered her room. When she realized nobody was in the living room, she sighed and looked around. She climbed the staircase with a sigh of relief but stopped looking for a voice in the middle.
Nicole shouted from the bottom of the staircase, "You were outside in the rain.
Ava twisted around while biting her tongue. She awkwardly grinned at her mother, who had her arms crossed and was sporting an angry expression.
Ava held up her left ear while portraying innocence. She apologized to her mother.
"Take a look at yourself, absolutely drenched. "I told you not to ruin that dress because I just washed it the day before yesterday."
"Mom, I'm so sorry." I won't do it again." Ava mumbled.
"Better if you keep this in mind." Nicole sighed. "Let's get fresh now. I'm bringing you some hot coffee,"
"I'm grateful, mom," a happy Ava said. She sprinted upstairs and went inside. She quickly changed into her cozy dress after taking a hot shower. She had just taken out her phone to take a selfie when she heard the doorbell.
When Ava opened the door, she could see Aaron outside. He also changed into a denim and gray hoodie. Ava wanted to hug him too because he was so adorable and cuddly.
"Hey, Aaron!" She went to embrace him but refrained. She awkwardly stepped aside to allow him to enter the home.
He said, "I'm sorry I bothered you."
"Bothering? Do you not feel that you are becoming too formal? Ava gave him a sneer.
"No, you just returned from work, and..."
Nicole walked into the room and said, "And you just came in at the right time. I made French fries and hot coffee."
"Wow, that's awesome." Aaron admitted that he was hungry. "You are an angel. How did you find out I liked French fries?"
"Because I am nothing less than a mother to you." Nicole gave him a cheek pinch.
Aarti entered the kitchen to retrieve some snacks for the children.
"Mom, bring the snacks into my room, please. Aaron and I are going to watch the movies," claimed Ava.
"Come." Ava took Aaron's hand and led him to her room.
"Do you want to watch movies?" Aaron inquired. Ava smiled at him.
"Of course. I am in a good mood. It's raining outside, and French fries with hot coffee are approaching. So a romantic film would be ideal."
Aaron nodded at her. He sat in the bed as Ava took her laptop and placed it in the center of the bed. She gave Aaron one pillow and took another for herself.
"What movie do you want to watch?" she asked. Aaron simply shrugged in response.
Ava decided to watch The Notebook after looking through the list of films.
Ava declared, "Good movie."
Aaron answered, "Yeah." He chose to watch them for Ava even though he wasn't a fan of such romantic movies.
Nicole brought them the snacks and then stepped away from them to enjoy them.
They both groaned in satisfaction as they ate the fries. They were both engrossed in the movie, their eyes glued to the laptop.
Aaron lost interest in the movie after watching it for a short while. He yawned and averted his gaze. Given that it was her favorite movie, Ava got lost in it. When Aaron looked at her, it seemed as though time had stopped and all he could see was her broad smile.
The movie ended after an hour, and Ava finally turned away from the laptop.
"It was fantastic," she gushed. Aaron gave her a nod.
When Ava peered out the window, she noticed that it was pitch-black outside.
"Whoa! She enquired, "What time is it?"
Aaron announced, "Five minutes until nine."
Ava gave a shrug. She inquired, "Are you hungry?"
He replied, "Not really." He fiddled with his fingers while Ava was cleaning her bed. He decided to break the silence. Turning to her, Aaron said, "Ava, I have something for you."
"What?" exclaimed Ava.
"This." Aaron returned the lost bracelet to her. Ava's eyes widened when she noticed that.
"This bracelet is my favorite. "How did you find it?" she inquired.
"The other day, at the mall, when we ran into each other."
"Oh, I see. And I searched everywhere for it."
Aaron tied the bracelet around Ava's wrist while grinning. She immediately gave him a hug.
She mumbled, "Thank you.
Aaron wrapped his arms around her and drew her close. They remained there for a brief moment before pulling away.
