Chereads / My System Is Unreliable, What To Do? / Chapter 138 - Saving Stan (Arc 3)

Chapter 138 - Saving Stan (Arc 3)

The three of them had finished discussing everything, and they did not delay anymore. Feng Yongrui and Lei Bei got into position.

Stan took a deep breath and looked at the two of them.

"Okay, I'm ready."

Feng Yongrui and Lei Bei took a deep breath and channeled their magical prowess unto the seal.

When Feng Yongrui's magical prowess came into contact with the seal, he felt a burning sensation on his palms. His first instinct was to pull back his magical prowess, but before the pain became unbearable, a cooling sensation spread through his palms.

Stan had enveloped Lei Bei and Feng Yongrui's magical prowess with his own.

The cooling sensation wasn't enough to put out the fires of pain that attacked him, but Feng Yongrui thought it was enough. Feng Yongrui and Lei Bei quickly channeled their magical prowess to break the seal.

Meanwhile, in the Phantom Realm, more specifically, in a corner of the Imp Clan, a figure in black walked slowly away from the rows and rows of Yon's dwellings. The Yons were a part of the Imp Clan with poor water-based powers.

The Yons lived near any sources of water they could find, usually near waterholes and small rivers. They lived in small wooden houses, similar to that of a beaver's house. The figure in black was walking away from the Yons' dwellings, followed by a black bird that was perched on his shoulder.

This person's face seemed like an ordinary Yon, but the more he walked, the more his face changed and gradually morphed into that of the crown prince, Chen Longfei!

When Chen Longfei was far enough from the Imp Clan, he finally stopped walking, and the black bird on his shoulder flew to the ground. The black bird turned into Xiao Niao, who bowed before Chen Longfei.

"Master..." Xiao Niao looked worriedly at his Master's dark face.

Chen Longfei's face was darker than the bottom of a pot. His eyes were dangerously dark as he looked at Xiao Niao.

"Apparently, there is no Yon by the name of 'Feng Yongrui'. In fact, there's no one in the Imp Clan by that name..." Chen Longfei drawled.

Xiao Niao flinched.

Chen Longfei narrowed his eyes and touched his chin, deep in thought.

"Master..." Xiao Niao whispered tentatively. "Should I tell the Black Ravens to investigate 'Feng Yongrui'?" he asked.

Chen Longfei nodded his head slowly. "Yes... Tell them I want a detailed report..."

Chen Longfei clicked his tongue in annoyance. He should've done this a long time ago. He should've told the Black Ravens to investigate this person first!

But... Chen Longfei glanced at Xiao Niao, who was waiting by his side patiently. Xiao Niao had followed him for so many years, and Xiao Niao was not weak in the slightest. If Xiao Niao had said this person was a Yon, then he should be a Yon.

...Unless, this 'Feng Yongrui' had stronger magical prowess than Xiao Niao...

"Don't just send anyone," Chen Longfei said, looking upwards in thought.

"Send the Jade Blade," he finally decided.

"T-the Jade Blade?" Xiao Niao stuttered, looking at his Master in shock. "B-but, the Jade Blade is usually reserved for..."

"I know. Just send him," Chen Longfei said.

Xiao Niao's eyes were wider than saucers, but he did not dare to question his Master a second time.

"Understood, Master," he bowed. Xiao Niao sighed silently inside his heart, unsure on whether he had to pity the 'Creative Writer' or respect him.

"Master," Xiao Niao suddenly remembered. "After I send the Jade Blade, if he finds something wrong with the 'Creative Writer', what should he do?"

Chen Longfei paused, and his eyes flickered as he thought in silence. Xiao Niao waited for his Master's verdict with bated breath.

Finally, Chen Longfei gave his reply.

"Kill him," he said.

"Understood, Master."

Meanwhile, Feng Yongrui had no idea that his life was in danger. The operation "freeing Stan" had just succeeded. Lilith's "connection" with Stan had been transferred to a block of ice that Feng Yongrui had created.

As for Stan, he was no longer bound to sit in the seashell anymore. He was already standing on the ground, smiling from ear to ear. Lei Bei was sitting on the ground, slightly panting. He had used up a considerable amount of his magical prowess, and since he only had half of his powers, he was really tired.

When they were in the middle of freeing Stan, actually, there had been a problem. Feng Yongrui sensed that Stan's connection with Lilith was getting unstable. If this continued, Lilith might sense something.

Since he didn't want anything to happen, Feng Yongrui had randomly bought something that the System had offered him and used it on the spot. Once he used it, the rest of the operation went on smoothly, and Feng Yongrui was relieved.

For once, he actually felt that the System was useful.

Now that Stan was free, and Lilith didn't sense anything, the three of them were safe. Stan and Feng Yongrui just had to help Lei Bei get out of this place. Feng Yongrui still remembered how to get out of this place.

Along with Stan, Feng Yongrui led Lei Bei out of Lilith's place. When the three of them were finally out of Lilith's "hide out", Lei Bei turned to Stan.

"Alright, Vampire vermin, that's it. I'll go back on my own now."

"Sure, sure, I hope you don't get lost~ After all, you might've lost a few brain cells when you were fighting with my sister," Stan jeered.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

They were starting it again!

"Ahem, anyway, don't forget that we've made the Soul Oath," Feng Yongrui reminded Lei Bei.

"I know. I'm leaving now," Lei Bei said. Before leaving, he shot a glare at Stan.

"If you do anything funny, even if I have to die because of the Soul Oath, I won't hesitate to kill you," he spat.

Stan rolled his eyes. "Oh my~ I'm soo~ afraid~~" he jeered.

"Hmph!" Lei Bei turned around and flew away, leaving Feng Yongrui alone with Stan.

"...So, no that it's just the two of us, I want to ask you something," Stan said.

"What is it?" Feng Yongrui asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"You threatened Lei Bei saying that the Shadow Demons were in danger... You told him about Lilith's plan and threatened him saying that if he didn't hurry back, the Shadow Demons would be in danger..."

"That's right," Feng Yongrui nodded.

"...All of that was just a lie, right?" Stan asked.

"What do you mean?" Feng Yongrui was confused.

"Actually... you've already stopped Lilith's plans, right? The Shadow Demons aren't in any danger... the Phantom realm isn't in danger either, right?" Stan asked.

Feng Yongrui looked at the child in front of him with a tinge of awe. How did he know?

When Feng Yongrui was talking to Lei Bei, he purposely made it seem like the Shadow Demons were in trouble -- of course, the truth was, the Shadow Demons were fine. After all, Feng Yongrui had already told his Boss, and his Boss had taken care of things.

Although Lei Bei didn't trust Feng Yongrui's words 100%, Lei Bei was still afraid and didn't want to risk it, so in the end he agreed to help them...

"So you knew that I was baiting Lei Bei all along, huh?" Feng Yongrui chuckled.

"Yeah, I guessed it. I mean, even though I don't know who you are, I'm sure you wouldn't want the Phantom Realm to get in danger. So, no matter what your background is, after hearing Lilith's plans, I'm sure you would've told somebody, anybody, to stop her plans," Stan reasoned.

Feng Yongrui shook his head. "How could you be so sure? What if I didn't tell anyone about Lilith's plans, and the Phantom Realm is really in danger?"

"Hahaha... I don't think that's possible, unless... you're not from the Phantom Realm," Stan said, smiling.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

"Anyway, where are you going to go after this?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"...I'm not sure either," Stan replied.

"It's actually my first time going outside like this..."

Stan stopped talking and turned to the right.

"Hey, we've been working together for some time now, right?"

"Yes, what's up?"

"I want to see what you look like," Stan replied almost immediately.

"Err..." Feng Yongrui scratched his head awkwardly.

"Oh, come on. It can't be that you're really ugly or something, right? I just want to see what you look like. Just once, okay?" Stan said.

"...Fine," Feng Yongrui nodded his head.

Outwardly, Feng Yongrui said 'fine', but deep down inside his heart, Feng Yongrui knew that he couldn't trust Stan 100%.

Even though the latter looked like a kid, he wasn't a fool. Feng Yongrui had no idea what Stan was capable of doing.

So, Feng Yongrui took off the Invisibility Spell while also activating the 'Shapeshifting' ability that he had.

When Stan blinked twice, in front of him stood a middle-aged man with grey hair and a long, pointed beard.

Feng Yongrui coughed in embarrassment.

"Ahem, so... this is what I look like," Feng Yongrui said.

Stan raised an eyebrow.

"Man, you sure look old," he clicked his tongue.

"...I'm not that old," Feng Yongrui protested.

Stan gave a small smile and observed the 'Feng Yongrui' in front of him.

"What will you do after this?" Feng Yongrui asked.
