Chapter 132 - Mother (Arc 3)

Meanwhile, in the heart of the Phantom Realm, Chen Longfei, the Crown Prince of the Phantom realm, entered a beautiful sky-blue room, blissfully unaware that a certain spy of his was cursing him inside his head.

As soon as he entered the room, Chen Longfei found himself enveloped in peace and calmness. The walls of the room were thoroughly blue. In the center of the room, sitting cross legged on the floor, was a woman with pale white skin.

The woman was beautiful, to say the least. She had long, aqua blue hair that reached the small of her back. There was a braid on each side of her hair, one on the left and one on the right.

Her skin was pearly white, and the clothes she wore were made of fine, pale blue silk. When she sensed someone entering the room, she opened her eyes.

Her eyes were a brilliant blue color, shining and glowing fiercely. It was like a glowing ember that shone under the night sky.

Chen Longfei showed a rare, gentle smile that reached his eyes.

"Mother," he whispered softly.

The woman gave a gentle smile and stood up, walking closer to him.

"Xiao Fei," she whispered.

Seeing her son's face, the woman couldn't help sighing.

"Aiyah... How many times has mother told you? You shouldn't work too hard... Pay attention to you body..." she said, smiling dotingly.

Chen Longfei smile at his mother.

"I'm fine, mom. Let's sit," Chen Longfei said, leading his mother to a nearby table.

The mother and son pair sat down and Chen Longfei poured his mother a cup of tea. He watched gently as his mother took the cup into her hands and blew on the warm tea.

After taking a sip, the woman put down her cup and looked at her son. Her gentle eyes became sharp and she looked at him closely.

"So, how is it going?" the woman asked. Although her voice was gentle, there was an undeniable sharpness and iciness in her eyes that could not be hidden.

Chen Longfei's face turned serious and he replied without hesitation. "Don't worry, mother. It's going well. Recently the third prince and fifth princess got into fight, and they were severely reprimanded by the Heavenly Immortal. Those two should be quiet for some time."

The woman chuckled softly. "That's good, that's good..."

"What about the clans? I heard that a few days ago someone stirred up trouble..." the woman looked at her son worriedly.

Chen Longfei's face turned grim.

"It was Lilith, from the Vampire Clan..." Chen Longfei quickly explained what had happened and how he handled the matter.

"If Lilith ever does something out of line again, what will you do?" the woman asked. "You won't keep her out of pity, will you?" she cocked an eyebrow at her son.

"Haha... Why should I keep her? If she dares act out of line again, then she can say goodbye to her position as the Family Head. While she's been helpful during the early years when I went into power, now she's nothing but a dog that's getting out of control..." Chen Longfei said, his gaze darkening.

The woman nodded her head in satisfaction, a smile blooming across her face.

"Good. You should always know your priorities..."

The woman took another sip of her tea and suddenly paused. She put down the cup with a 'clink' and looked at her son.

"If Lilith is gone, who is suitable enough to become the Family Head of the Vampire Clan?" she asked.

Chen Longfei sighed. "I'm also rather confused about that... I've seen the files regarding the various people in the Vampire Clan, and I'm not satisfied with any of them."

"Well, they'll have to be powerful enough to make the other members of the Vampire Clan submit to them, and they also have to be loyal to you..." the woman sifted through her memories and sighed.

"I guess there's no one that fits that description," she sighed.

Chen Longfei nodded. "It is indeed hard to find a suitable person. Among the Vampire Clan's younger generation, none of them are as strong or intelligent as Lilith. It's a shame, but if Lilith is really not useful anymore, than I'll just have to pick someone who's loyal to me."

The woman nodded along but suddenly paused.

"What about Lilith's siblings?" the woman blurted out.

"Sibling? Did she have a sibling?" Chen Longfei turned to look at his mother in confusion.

"Ah... you may not have heard of it. Back in the day, there were rumors that Lilith had a younger brother," the woman said.

"A half-brother? Or a real one?" Chen Longfei asked, interested.

"A real one, he wasn't a step-brother, as far as I know. There were rumors that this younger brother was too powerful, that he was a monster, so nobody wanted him..."

"And what happened to him?"

"No one knows. The rumors died as quickly as it came. Very few people know about this, actually. I think he's probably dead by now, but if he's alive..." the woman trailed off.

The corner of Chen Longfei's lips curled into a smile. If he was alive... wouldn't he be the perfect chess piece?

"Do you know anything else about him, mom?" Chen Longfei turned to his mother.

"Such as his appearance, or his age... something like that..." he added.

The woman paused and her eyes became misty as she thought about the past.

"No... no one has ever seen him... In the first place, if someone had actually seen him, they would've definitely said something about his existence... Oh, but I did hear something," she turned to face her son.

"I heard his name was Stanislav."

Meanwhile, in Xu Chao's mansion, Feng Yongrui, who had a few bruises on his arms and dirt all over his clothes, looked at his "enemies", who had been "defeated". The four Phantom Stallions in front of him looked thoroughly defeated.

All four stallions, Starmane, Dreamer, Blossom, and Violet, had their manes neatly combed and arranged beautifully. Blossom and Violet's manes were braided neatly to the side.

As for Starmane and Dreamer... they both didn't want their manes to be braided and resisted so fiercely that Feng Yongrui had to make do with tying their manes neatly to the side. Even when he was doing that, the two of them kept whining and moving around recklessly, as if complaining and whining that they didn't want to "dress up".

"Ta-da~" Feng Yongrui said as he admired his work.

Everything was perfect~~

"Host, you do know that the braids on Violet's mane look like a matted rope, right?" the System suddenly said.

Feng Yongrui pursed his lips. Why was the System always a killjoy?

"Also, Host, can't you see that Dreamer's mane is slightly crooked to the side? It's not parallel..."

"Well..."

"ALSO! Look at my poor baby Starmane! How could you do that to him? He looks like he's going to cry!" the System yelled.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

"...Do you really think Starmane looks like he wants to cry?" Feng Yongrui asked as he observed Starmane, who was glaring and snorting at him.

...Was that the face of someone who was going to cry??

"Also, I don't care if he wants to cry," Feng Yongrui added. "He can cry all he wants. It's his own fault, hmph!" Feng Yongrui ignored the System and led the stallions back to their stables.

In any case, he had done his best to make the stallions look presentable -- no, to look beautiful. Feng Yongrui felt like his job was done -- anyway, it was getting dark, so he stomped back to the servant's quarters and had his dinner grumpily.

When Feng Yongrui arrived in his room, he cleaned himself with a spell and immediately got to work, writing his "daily report" in anger. He wrote, in detail, about how terrible and tiring and terrifying and tacky his job had been.

Because he was in a bad mood, Feng Yongrui was able to write more fluently than usual, creating an incomprehensible mass of broken syntax, grammar, and ridiculously placed adjectives.

Today happened to be the last day of the week, so after gathering all of his letters together, Feng Yongrui tied them up into one bundle and sent them to CHEN1213, his boss.

When that was done, Feng Yongrui thought about what he would do tomorrow. Since Xu Chao was going on a trip tomorrow, the Phantom Stallions wouldn't be in the mansion. This meant that he had an impromptu holiday!

Feng Yongrui was excited. Since it was a holiday, what should he do? Have some fun?

No... it would be better if he found more information for his Boss.... Aha! Feng Yongrui's eyes lit up. He almost forgot about Stan! Didn't he promise to help Stan get out of that place?

Based on his understanding, Stan had been locked up in that place because of Lilith, and Stan wanted to escape... Feng Yongrui decided to go and visit Stan tomorrow.
