Chereads / My System Is Unreliable, What To Do? / Chapter 126 - Lilith's Mistake (Arc 3)

Chapter 126 - Lilith's Mistake (Arc 3)

If Lilith hurt both the 3rd prince and 5th princess, then this was like an act of proclaiming war -- war against the Cloud Realm. By that time, the Phantom Realm would be dragged into a painful and torturous war, one that might last for several centuries.

What was even worse was that Lilith was trying to pin the blame on the Shadow Demons. For starters, if the Heavenly Immortal and the Cloud Realm found out that the Shadow Demons had hurt the prince and princess, they would definitely direct their anger at the Shadow Demons.

However, the Cloud Realm weren't the only ones who would be angry. The Phantom Realm would also be angry at the Shadow Demons. After all the Phantom Realm didn't want to start a war out of nowhere either.

If Lilith had succeeded with her plans, then the Shadow Demons would be in big trouble, but what would the cost be?

Xiao Niao grumbled inside his heart. Lilith was too reckless!

Xiao Niao also frowned when he thought about the various spies and intelligence network that his Master had planted throughout the Phantom Realm. Why didn't anyone know about this?

How could the Creative Writer, a nobody, be able to give the Master information that even the Master's most trusted spy network couldn't find out? Was the Creative Writer just lucky, or was this something else...?

Xiao Niao was broken out of his thoughts when he looked at his Master's black face

"Ask the Black Ravens to gather information and verify the Creative Writer's words," the Master said.

Xiao Niao bowed his head.

"Understood, Master."

Meanwhile, Feng Yongrui was unaware of the big waves he had stirred and how much his actions affected this world. He was in the middle of dreamland, floating through clouds and jumping across rainbows as he dreamed of a life without the System.

When Feng Yongrui was about to slide down the rainbow...

"HOST~~" he heard an annoying voice yelling in his ear.

No, it wasn't his ear. It was his head!

"If you don't wake up I will deduct your points, Host~~"

Feng Yongrui jolted awake, sitting upright on the bed. He gasped for breath a few times and looked around him. He was fine... he was still inside his room...

"Host, come on," the System said. "If you don't get ready for work, you'll be late, Host, and you'll have to work on an empty stomach..."

Feng Yongrui nodded -- he was actually still sleepy but he didn't want to miss work, so he got out of bed and had breakfast quickly.

While Feng Yongrui was having breakfast, his head was hurting immensely. However, he ignored the pain and sat next to Big Brother.

Yesterday Lilith was furious as He Yi... Did that mean she killed him? Or did He Yi return to Xu Chao's side?

Even if He Yi returned to Xu Chao's side, how would he explain the fact that he was missing his horns?

After all, hadn't Lilith cut them off yesterday...?

However, even after talking to Big Brother and the others, Feng Yongrui found out that nothing unusual had happened.

He wasn't sure what this meant. There were two possibilities -- He Yi had returned, and his horns were somehow still intact; or, He Yi had disappeared and Xu Chao was keeping this news under wraps.

When Feng Yongrui went to work, his head felt heavy and his limbs felt like someone had chopped them up and then sewed them back together. The worst part was his arms.

When Feng Yongrui tried to free Stan, he not only failed miserably, but his hands and arms were struck with a painful sting.

Even though he had taken a rest, Feng Yongrui's arms and palms were still stinging from time to time.

Feng Yongrui did his tasks rather distractedly. Even Violet, who was usually quiet and well behaved, so that he was distracted and did not clean up her stall as meticulously as usual.

She gave a shrill neigh at Feng Yongrui, breaking him from his thoughts and making him realize that he was making a mess if the stable instead.

The other stallions looked at Feng Yongrui with confusion as well, as if to say, "What's wrong with our diligent servant who usually cleans up our houses well? What's gotten him so distracted?"

However, Feng Yongrui could not bother with them... He was thinking about the Cloud Realm, wondering if the 3rd prince and 5th princess would really fight...

As Feng Yongrui was lost in thought, he suddenly felt a familiar sensation. It was strange, as if the ground underneath him was becoming sand... The air around him was also fluctuating...

Was his Boss sending him a letter?! Feng Yongrui thought excitedly.

He saw a void appear in front of him and instinctively stretched out his hands. A piece of paper fell into his palms with a plop.

Feng Yongrui's eyes were gleaming. This must be from his Boss!

Feng Yongrui ignores the stallions' restless whinnies and opened the letter.

His Boss was very straightforward. He told Feng Yongrui that he had done a good job in finding out Lilith's plans.

After that, the Boss said that he would deal with Lilith himself. As for the Flame Stone...

The Boss told Feng Yongrui to relay Lilith's scheme to Xu Chao with an anonymous letter. The Boss said that he wanted Xu Chao's impression of him (the Boss) to be good.

The Boss further explained that he wanted Xu Chao to be on his side, so Feng Yongrui had to win Xu Chao over little by little.

Feng Yongrui had to tell Xu Chao about Lilith's plans and tell Xu Chao that his (Feng Yongrui's) Master had already helped Xu Chao deal with it. Of course, Feng Yongrui's Boss told him that he couldn't tell Xu Chao about his identity.

Since they had helped Xu Chao avoid Lilith's schemes, the Boss hoped that he would be able to win Xu Chao over.

At the end of the letter, the Boss reminded Feng Yongrui to be careful, not to let Xu Chao find out that his identity, and to send the letter anonymously.

The keyword was "anonymous". Xu Chao should not be able to guess or find out the sender if the letter -- of course, this meant that Xu Chao was not allowed to find out that the sender of the letter was a spy in his mansion...

After reading the letter, Feng Yongrui took a deep breath. As long as his Boss took control of things, then everything should be fine.

His Boss was special, after all.

Feng Yongrui wanted to write the letter to Xu Chao almost immediately, but he realized that he was still outside, with the stallions.

...He didn't have paper.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

"Host, would you like to buy paper from the System Mall?" Feng Yongrui heard a cheerful voice.

"Here comes the Seller System..." Feng Yongrui chuckled.

"Host, this is a special deal, just for today~~" the System said.

"You can buy 100 pieces of paper for 1,000 points~~" the System said.

Feng Yongrui was speechless. 1,000 points... Just for 100 pieces of paper??

With those 1,000 points he could buy items or a low level skill!

Why would he waste his points like this?!

"I'll pass, System," Feng Yongrui said.

He continued cleaning up the stables while thinking of a plan. Normally there was absolutely no one who came to check on him and his job. No one would know if he sneaked back into his room using an Invisibility Spell, right?

Feng Yongrui did not dilly-dally any longer. He used a low-level Illusion Spell to make it seem like "Feng Yongrui" was still working in the stables. He then activated his Invisibility Spell and flew back into his room.

In the servant's compounds, there were only a few servants who were sleeping. This was the day time, so the servants who were sleeping here were the night-shift servants.

Feng Yongrui entered his room stealthily and took a piece of paper. He sat down behind his desk and thought of what to write.

Since this time Feng Yongrui was writing as an "anonymous" person, he didn't want to write in the usual flamboyant style that he usually used. After all, writing like that was mentally tiring for him, and he was afraid Xu Chao would be angered to death by his nonsensical writing!

But, if Feng Yongrui strayed too much from his usual style and his Boss found out, wouldn't his Boss find it strange?

So, Feng Yongrui decided to write in a rather flamboyant style, but not too much. In his letter, Feng Yongrui explained the situation to Xu Chao.

He claimed to be "The Boss' Underling", and that his "Boss" had discovered Lilith's plans and schemes against the Shadow Demons. "The Boss" thought that Xu Chao was an admirable man, so "The Boss" had instructed him, "The Boss' Underling", to inform the situation to Xu Chao.
