Chapter 119 - Looking For Xu Chao (Arc 3)

After that, Big Brother began talking animatedly about the general layout of Xu Chao's room.

There were a few precious things inside the room, but most of them were kept inside special boxes and they were never taken out.

Big Brother explained that when he cleaned up Xu Chao's room, he usually swept the room and mopped the floors.

The task of dusting the tables and wiping the other objects in the room were given to other servants.

When Feng Yongrui heard this, he was rather intrigued.

"Don't you use magic to clean things up?" he asked.

Big Brother shook his head.

"The Master doesn't allow us to use our magic. We've got to do things manually," he said.

"Ah? But isn't it faster and more efficient to use magic?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"Hm," Big Brother shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. That's just the Master's orders. I'll just obey him."

Feng Yongrui nodded his head quickly. Perhaps it was better if he stopped asking here. Otherwise, he would seem too suspicious. Feng Yongrui continued the meal and asked other irrelevant questions.

When the meal was finished, Feng Yongrui went to work while thinking about his next steps. According to Big Brother's words, Xu Chao would be gone from the mansion on the third day of each week.

"Isn't today the third day of the week?" Feng Yongrui muttered. If Big Brother's words were true, then today was perfect for him to spy on Xu Chao's room... Or, he could follow Xu Chao and find out where Xu Chao went on the third day of each week.

Feng Yongrui sighed. Unfortunately, the Invisible Skill wouldn't be too useful here.

"Host, if you'd like, you can buy the intermediate level of the Invisibility Skill," the System suggested. "Or you can use the Lucky Draw, Host. You still have 4 free Lucky Draws."

"Hmm... How many points do I have at the moment?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"Host, you currently have 106,447 points," the System said.

"Eh? Feng Yongrui paused. "Wasn't that the same amount of points that I had after bought the Tattoo of Trouble? How come it's still the same?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"Host, did you forget? You haven't done any Daily Missions," the System said.

Feng Yongrui: !!!

"T-that's right! How come I don't have any Daily Missions?" Feng Yongrui cried.

"Host, I've told you previously," the System sighed, "Every time we go into a new world, it will take some time for the Daily Missions to be uploaded. During that time, there won't be any Daily Missions."

"Ah, I see. So... Does that mean there are no Daily Missions at the moment?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"Host, the Daily Missions have been uploaded since 2 months ago," the System said leisurely.

Feng Yongrui felt his blood pressure rising.

"Two months ago? And you didn't tell me?" Feng Yongrui cried.

"W-well, Host. You did not ask..."

Feng Yongrui gritted his teeth and did not say anything. Instead, he took a deep breath several times.

"Alright, forget that. Tell me the price of the intermediate Invisibility Skill," Feng Yongrui said.

"Alright, Host. The price is 50,888," the System said.

Feng Yongrui's jaw dropped to the floor.

"F-fifty thousand... eight hundred and eighty eight?" Feng Yongrui stammered.

Feng Yongrui sucked in a cold breath. That was like... half of his points!

"Urgh... System, are you 100% sure that I will be unnoticeable by anyone if I have the intermediate Invisibility Skill?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"You said that the low-level Invisibility Skill won't work on those who have more magic prowess, right? But is the intermediate level skill enough to hide me from the most powerful people in this world?"

Before the System had the chance to reply, Feng Yongrui asked again. "Are you sure that this intermediate skill will keep me invisible, even if I'm in front of the Heavenly Immortal?"

The System answered without hesitation. "Absolutely, Host. This intermediate skill will be able to keep you invisible, even the Heavenly Immortal won't be able to find you if you use this skill."

Feng Yongrui nodded his head in satisfaction. Since that was the case... he would buy it!

After buying the skill, Feng Yongrui only had 56,447 points left in his account. It made him feel like a poor man almost immediately.

Feng Yongrui sighed and silently wrote an RIP for his points inside his heart. Well, at least this skill would be useful...

That night, when Feng Yongrui had finished his dinner, he returned to his room and lay on the bed.

"Activate the Invisibility Skill," Feng Yongrui whispered. Immediately, Feng Yongrui felt a strange emptiness inside his being and looked down. He was transparent, no, almost invisible!

Feng Yongrui got out of bed and looked around the room. In the previous world, every time he used his invisibility skill, he would leave a doppelganger of himself inside the room.

However, now he did not have the doppelganger skills anymore, so he couldn't do this. Of course, this didn't mean Feng Yongrui would subject himself to fate.

Feng Yongrui had previously tried out simple spells that he could use. One of them was a basic Illusion Spell that the original 'Feng Yongrui' was able to do. With this spell, Feng Yongrui could create an Illusion that made it seem like he was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

Since this was a simple spell, it would wear out after a few hours, and if someone with strong magical prowess entered the room, they might be able to see through his spell.

However, Feng Yongrui didn't have many friends -- the people who were most likely to enter his room were either Big Brother or Big Brother's fellow lackeys, and none of them had powerful magical prowess.

With that consideration in mind, Feng Yongrui felt that he would be safe and sneaked out of his room.

Feng Yongrui walked out of the servant's quarters and looked for the main building where Xu Chao lived in. Feng Yongrui spent most of the time in the stables, so he was not familiar with the layout of the main building.

Feng Yongrui wanted to find out where Xu Chao went during the third day of every week, so he wanted to follow Xu Chao. However, after searching the main building for a few minutes, Feng Yongrui did not find Xu Chao.

"How am I supposed to follow him if I can't even find his shadow?" Feng Yongrui muttered.

Feng Yongrui flew out of the main building and sighed. Was Xu Chao already gone? Maybe he was too late... If Xu Chao had already left, then Feng Yongrui would have to give up his plan and search Xu Chao's room instead...

Feng Yongrui floated around the mansion (using his magical prowess) rather aimlessly, hoping to spot Xu Chao but also knowing that Xu Chao was probably not here anymore.

Feng Yongrui heaved a sigh and decided to search the items in Xu Chao's room first. He turned around and was startled to see a familiar figure walking into the main building.

Why did that person seem familiar? Where had he seen him before...

"Ah! That person is... He Yi!" Feng Yongrui cried excitedly.

He Yi was the person standing next to Xu Chao on the first day that Feng Yongrui arrived here. He had a pair of Saiga horns and a fierce aura; he looked like Xu Chao's right hand man.

Feng Yongrui grinned. He couldn't find Xu Chao, but he found Xu Chao's right hand man. Wasn't this great?

Feng Yongrui followed He Yi quietly and watched as He Yi, wearing dark black clothes, sneaked into an elegant bedroom. Based on the size of the room and the fact that there were many elegant items in the room, Feng Yongrui decided that this must be Xu Chao's room.

"Did Xu Chao forget something and ask He Yi to take it for him?" Feng Yongrui wondered.

He Yi walked across the wooden floor noiselessly and began opening several drawers and cupboards. Every time he opened a cupboard, He Yi would stick his head inside, shake his head in disappointment, and close it again slowly.

Feng Yongrui couldn't help feeling puzzled. If Xu Chao ordered He Yi to take something, shouldn't He Yi know where Xu Chao put that item?

Wasn't he Xu Chao's right hand man? Or were his judgements wrong? Feng Yongrui wondered.

After pulling all the drawers and cupboards, He Yi gave a long sigh and scratched his head. Under Feng Yongrui's bewildered eyes, He Yi began to pick up the ornaments and vases in the room and checking the insides.

Feng Yongrui, who was watching, couldn't help feeling stupefied.

"W-what kind of subordinate does something like this?" Feng Yongrui groaned.

"Well, perhaps he is an incompetent subordinate?" the System suggested.

Feng Yongrui pursed his lips. "Would Xu Chao allow an incompetent subordinate to serve by his side?" he asked.

Feng Yongrui had never served in the main building. After all, he spent his days in the stables tending to the Phantom Stallions. But this didn't mean he had no understanding of what Xu Chao was like.
