Chapter 88 - The Key Figures of XBH (Arc 2)

After the holiday was over, Yin Longshen, Feng Yongrui, Zhao Baozhai and a few servants returned to the Yin family mansion. Yin Longshen was now fifteen years old, and Feng Yongrui was eight years old.

Feng Yongrui was busy with school, working as a waiter in the noodle shop, and also his freelance writing job. These days, a new problem had also popped up. Wang Xiamei was trying to contact him, saying that a rich client wanted to meet with the Taoist Monk.

When Feng Yongrui asked who it was, Wang Xiamei told him that the other party didn't mention his/her name. Feng Yongrui deliberated on this matter for a while before making his decision.

He told Wang Xiamei to tell everyone that he (the Taoist Monk) was going to go into seclusion for an indefinite amount of time. When Wang Xiamei heard this, she was rather reluctant, but Feng Yongrui was persistent.

Right now, he had to focus on scheming to hurt himself. Other matters had to be set aside.

Half a year had passed, and Yin Longshen's company was up and running. Their company, XBH, mainly focused on building software. With Yin Longshen's genius, protagonist-like halo, all the software he designed was brand new and ran smoothly.

In little to no time at all, his company had made several million dollars worth in sales. Other people and other companies were shocked to see this, but when Feng Yongrui found out about it, he wasn't too surprised.

Anyway, this was the meaning of being a protagonist. Sitting on top, being a genius... As long as you were the protagonist, then this was normal.

Other companies were eager to find out more about XBH. Who was the one who made this company? Which family invested in this company? Unfortunately, they could not find out anything about XBH.

This was partly due to Yin Longshen's meticulous arrangements as well as [waiting_fire]'s hacking skills, allowing Yin Longshen and the origin of XBH Company to remain hidden.

Now days, Feng Yongrui wasn't paying too much attention to his older brother's progress. He knew that everything was going on track, so he didn't need to worry.

Time flowed quickly, like water running through a stream. Soon, Yin Longshen turned 16, and Feng Yongrui turned nine years old.

Feng Yongrui had already planned it out. He would join Yin Longshen's company when Yin Longshen was 16.

If Feng Yongrui joined the company too early, he was afraid that Yin Longshen would remember him as one of the earliest staff who joined XBH. Feng Yongrui didn't want to be too noticeable.

Yin Longshen's company would be moderately successful and continue to rise rapidly when he was around 17 years old. By that time, if Feng Yongrui wanted to join XBH, he was afraid that the competition would be too fierce and he wouldn't be hired.

So, Feng Yongrui decided that joining XBH at this time would be the most ideal. He wouldn't stand out too much, but it shouldn't be too hard for him to join the company.

With that thought in mind, Feng Yongrui made his resume and prepared to go to XBH Company.

The XBH Company headquarters was located in M City, several kilometers away from the Yin mansion. As it was previously mentioned, Yin Longshen had 3 people who were vital to the building of his company.

The first one was [cookies_forever] or Zhu Yuan, whom Feng Yongrui had met previously. The second one was [nie_nie] -- although his coding skills were average, he was important because of two factors.

First of all, [nie_nie] was good at talking and planning. He didn't have the skills to code, but he had the marketing and legal skills to start a company. [nie_nie], whose real name was Mo Ning, also came from a well-off family.

His mother was a lawyer and his father was the general manager of a chain of department stores. He had two older brothers, the first one was a doctor, and the second one was an accountant.

All in all, Mo Ning was a pretty good partner when it came to business. Yin Longshen's company's legal matters were helped partly by Mo Ning's mother, and since Mo Ning himself had seen how his father worked, he had the foundational knowledge that Yin Longshen needed to start a company.

Don't ask how Yin Longshen was able to be so lucky and meet this kind of "useful" person. Anything was possible since he was the protagonist.

Mo Ning was easy to talk to and he lived in M City, which was the same city where Yin Longshen lived. This meant that the two of them could meet and discuss technical issues whenever they needed.

In the original timeline, Yin Longshen had to use a wheelchair to travel from one place to another. It was rather inconvenient for him, so he had managed to gather two subordinates and place them in the Yin mansion.

One of the subordinates was a driver, while the other one was a servant. With the help of these two people, Yin Longshen had managed to sneak out of the house and visit his company from time to time.

However, now things were different, so Yin Longshen did not need help to go from one place to another.

Now, whenever he needed to visit [nie_nie] or his own company, Yin Longshen would just make up an excuse and ask the chauffeur to drive him to the location.

Since Zhao Baozhai's attitude towards him had eased, Yin Longshen didn't have to stay on guard all the time, and the servants did not treat him poorly like before.

The third person who helped Yin Longshen start up his company was a lady named Ma Lin. This lady was in her early thirties, and she was introduced to Yin Longshen by [waiting_fire], one of Yin Longshen's best buddies in the coding community.

Ma Lin was a smart woman. She had worked in a company for several years. She did not graduate from a prestigious university, but even so, she was smarter than her colleagues.

Ma Lin was hardworking and serious about her job, but that didn't guarantee her a happy life. Several colleagues did not like her, and seeing that she was hardworking, they gave her more jobs to do.

At first, Ma Lin was okay with it. They were all colleagues working in the same company, everyone should help each other. However, as time passed, her jobs grew more and more.

She became swamped with work and had to stay overtime in the company. If she did a good job, the ones who were praised were her colleagues, not her. If she did her job poorly, she would be the one who got blamed.

No matter how nice a person is, there would always be a limit. Ma Lin had had enough, and she told her colleagues and co-workers to stop dumping their work on her.

Asking for help once or twice was okay, but repeatedly pouring their work on her like this... It was more like exploitation.

After Ma Lin told the others that she would no longer help them, her colleagues were, naturally, upset.

"You are smarter than us... Isn't it natural that you work more?"

"Are you being like this because you look down on us?"

"It's just helping your friends, it's not like we're stealing your money. Why are you being like this?"

Ma Lin remained firm in her decision and ignored their words.

One day, Ma Lin made a mistake in the company -- it wasn't exactly her fault. Actually, there were many people involved. The data in the company would go from one person to another person's hands, so it wasn't entirely Ma Lin's fault.

However, everyone accused Ma Lin of being the main reason there was a mistake. At that time, the company lost several million dollars in sales, and they were very displeased.

Ma Lin was fired from her company, and she had been searching for a job ever since. This was when [waiting_fire] introduced her to Yin Longshen.

Yin Longshen had already checked her skills. She was good at handling the marketing department, she was an expert at networking, and she had several years of experience.

Yin Longshen was satisfied with her, and after discussing with her, he had recruited her into XBH.

Feng Yongrui had already swapped places with his doppelganger, who would go to school in his stead.

He shapeshifted and changed into Xiao Xiong, getting ready to go to XBH Company. Previously, XBH Company had posted a notice saying they wanted to recruit more people.

Feng Yongrui had sent his application as well as his resume. Thankfully, he passed the initial selection. Now, all he needed to do was succeed in the interview and hopefully get hired.

Feng Yongrui wondered if he would meet any of the key members of XBH (Zhu Yuan, Mo Ning, and Ma Lin).

Hopefully, he wouldn't run into any of them. He was curious about what they were like, but if he really met them face to face, he was afraid that he would blow his own cover.

He was also afraid that they would notice him... He had to be as inconspicuous as ever. If they noticed him and reported his existence to Yin Longshen... what if Yin Longshen suspected something was wrong and investigated him?

Feng Yongrui still remembered that Yin Longshen was close with [waiting_fire] and [daylily900]. The first one was a hacking expert and the second was a business mogul.

It would be bad if Yin Longshen and the other two found out that "Xiao Xiong" was actually a person that didn't exist...

Feng Yongrui put aside his worries and sighed. He looked at the white building in front of him.

He had arrived in XBH Company.
