Several days later, Feng Yongrui swapped places with his doppelganger and shapeshifted into "Xiao Xiong". He was wandering through M City, searching for a job.
Job hunting was a difficult thing to begin with. People wanted extraordinary employees with lots of experience, but usually the pay wasn't too good.
Now, job hunting was even harder for Feng Yongrui. After all, he didn't have real credentials. His identity was fake as well!
Feng Yongrui wandered for a long time but did not see any available jobs. He did not realize it, but he soon found himself standing in front of a noodle shop. This was the shop where he first met Tan Qiqiang, head of the Tan family.
At that time, Feng Yongrui was hungry and Tan Qiqiang treated him with a meal. Thinking about the fragrant, tasty noodles that he ate, Feng Yongrui wanted to drool.
He subconsciously entered the noodle shop and looked around.
"Hello, is there anything you want?" a waiter stepped forward and asked.
"Uhm, no..." Feng Yongrui grew embarrassed. He had no money! Feng Yongrui wanted to dig a hole and bury himself deep inside.
It was better if he left right now...
"Host, you only live once. How can you just leave?" the System grumbled inside his head.
"...Then what do you want me to do? Dine and dash?" Feng Yongrui rolled his eyes.
"Actually, that's not a bad idea. Why don't you eat here and then tell them that you don't have money... And to pay them, you're willing to sell yourself... How about that?"
"...No." Feng Yongrui said firmly, but then paused. "Well, I'll just ask them if they have any available jobs, or if they know someone who needs an employee. There should be no harm in asking, right?"
Feng Yongrui turned to the waiter and told him that he was actually job-hunting. The waiter looked him over for a while and pursed his lips.
"Did you bring your resume? Do you have any work experience? Where did you graduate from?" the waiter began firing him with questions.
Feng Yongrui began to sweat heavily and his throat became dry.
"I... I left the documents at home... That..."
"It's okay, why don't we do this?" the waiter offered kindly. "Actually, this noodle shop will be hiring waiters soon. You see, I'm going to stop working here, so I need a replacement."
"I see..." Feng Yongrui muttered.
"Why don't you come here again tomorrow, bringing all the documents you need? I'll give you a trial first. If you're okay, then I'll introduce you to the boss. He'll consider whether you can replace me or not," the waiter said.
Feng Yongrui agreed with the waiter and thanked him several times before leaving. Once he left, Feng Yongrui did not stay idle. He began to falsify the documents he needed in order to work in the noodle shop.
He used his various skills to make false data, showing that "Xiao Xiong" graduated from H University and majored in writing.
Back on earth, writing was the one thing that Feng Yongrui felt he had the confidence in doing. He was an avid reader, and he liked writing as well. Back when he was in school, he was known as the person who could write flowery words just to achieve his purpose.
If the teachers wanted him to write a one-page proposal, Feng Yongrui would be able to write three pages of flowery words. If he wanted to convince someone abut something, Feng Yongrui could write an article about it, just to persuade them.
Feng Yongrui's plan was to become part of Yin Longshen's company one day, so that it would be easier for him to "sabotage" himself. Feng Yongrui knew he couldn't become a manager, accountant, or a supervisor.
He wasn't good with numbers, so he couldn't become an accountant or anything of that sort.
His best option was to become part of the public relations department (PR), and so, majoring in writing would help him later on.
He had done a bit of research; the PR team inside a company was supposed to write press releases, make social media posts, coordinating advertising, writing speeches and maintaining the website.
Feng Yongrui felt that he should be able to do those things.
...If worse comes to worst, he could always ask the System to do it for him. The only drawback was, he probably had to spend points...
Feng Yongrui also falsified documents regarding his work experience, claiming that he had worked as a freelance writer for a while and worked in a restaurant as a part-time worker.
After falsifying all the evidences as best as he could, Feng Yongrui was really tired. He had spent an entire day running around like this, he just had to hope for the best.
The next day, Feng Yongrui went to the noodle shop again and brought all the documents that was needed. He was given a trial period of one week, and Feng Yongrui did his job seriously.
One week later, Feng Yongrui was hired to work in the noodle shop. The pay was decent and the boss, Old Wang, was a kind person. Feng Yongrui was satisfied.
Feng Yongrui was, on the surface, a full-time worker in this noodle shop. However, in reality, the one who was working was not Feng Yongrui. Feng Yongrui had created a doppelganger of "Xiao Xiong" to work in the noodle shop.
Feng Yongrui himself went to school as usual, as "Yin Yongrui". Sometimes, though, he would swap places with the doppelganger, so the real Feng Yongrui would become "Xiao Xiong", and the one who went to school would be Feng Yongrui's doppelganger.
Half a year passed after that. Yin Longshen would be turning fifteen soon, and he wanted to have his own room. Feng Yongrui thought it would be alright. Now he was seven years old, he was able to do things by himself already.
Within a few weeks, a new room was renovated for Yin Longshen, and he moved to his new room. Feng Yongrui's room was also modified in a few places.
"Xiao Xiong"'s job in the noodle shop was going well, but Feng Yongrui wanted to look for another job for "Xiao Xiong". When Yin Longshen turned 15, he would begin to build his company and recruit people.
When that time came, Feng Yongrui wanted to become part of the PR department. So he had to start gaining experience from now on.
Feng Yongrui registered himself in an online job-hunting platform, filled in his (fake) details, and began to search for writing jobs.
Feng Yongrui was rather successful -- whenever he had spare time, he would take some writing jobs. Usually he was told to write SEO content, edit some documents, or write articles. He would then get paid, and his money would go inside Xiao Xiong's bank account.
Speaking about money, every few months, Feng Yongrui would draw his money from the bank and convert it into System points. It was quite profitable, and his debt was steadily decreasing.
Feng Yongrui was really glad.
Time passed uneventfully. Feng Yongrui juggled between his school life, his work in the noodle shop, and his work as a writer. He felt like he was living three different lives.
It was quite hard, but it was fun as well.
There was also an important event that was coming soon. This event did not happen in the original timeline, but Feng Yongrui's appearance had changed things.
Yin Longshen's 15th birthday was coming up, and Zhao Baozhai wanted to bring the two boys on a trip abroad.
Honestly, Feng Yongrui was excited. This was the first time since his arrival to this world that he would go on a trip and explore the world.
He was also excited because he would be going with his older brother. Feng Yongrui was already thinking of all the fun things he could do.
Their destination would be country B, a tropical country with many famous beaches and mountains. Zhao Baozhai had already planned everything, they would stay in a five-star hotel that was a walk away from a beach.
Feng Yongrui was already dreaming of all the fun things they could do. Playing on the beach... Watching the sunset... Taking walks by the seaside, and admiring the seashells...
Feng Yongrui wanted to laugh a bit. In his original world, back on Earth, he was swamped with psychological burdens. There were times when he was afraid that he wasn't doing enough, and he often felt like he shouldn't be allowed to rest at all.
Even reading his beloved web novels was just a means to run away from the gruesome reality of life.
There was never a time when he could be so relaxed and simply bask in the sun, free of worries.
Would he finally be able to relax during this holiday?
If he could, it would be really nice...
"Host," an annoying voice broke him from his thoughts.
"Host, please don't forget that you still owe me some points," the System said.
Feng Yongrui: "..."
I was just beginning to enjoy my life without you, System.

Feng Yongrui: I have a doppelganger and a shapeshifting skill.
Interviewer: So... You already have so many jobs, why do you want to be hired by us?
Feng Yongrui: Because I need money.
Interviewer: ...Not because you want to work hard and accomplish great things?
