Chereads / My System Is Unreliable, What To Do? / Chapter 74 - Peng Family (Arc 2)

Chapter 74 - Peng Family (Arc 2)

The Peng family exacted revenge on Yin Xinliang, forcing him into poverty. Of course, Yin Qiushan was more than happy to see his brother's miserable state. Instead of helping his older brother, Yin Qiushan forced him into an even worse state.

Yin Xinliang couldn't take it. He got drunk one night, suffered from a heart attack, and died -- completely alone.

Meanwhile, the Peng family was mourning over Peng Wencheng's death. The Peng family had three children: Peng Changming, Peng Wencheng, and the youngest was Peng Ruolan.

Peng Wencheng had just died, and Peng Ruolan was hit hard after this incident, so Peng Changming became the heir of the Peng family.

Of course, ever since that incident, the Peng and Yin family were hostile to each other. The Peng family was more powerful than the Yin family, but somehow, over the years, the two were locked in an impasse.

Peng Hui was Peng Changming's son, as well as [daylily900], who befriended Yin Longshen. The two of them became friends, but neither of them knew the other's identity.

When Feng Yongrui finished reading this information, he took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes wearily.

"System, what kind of dog-blooded family drama is this?" he complained.

Everything was so complicated!

"Host, in any case, you are a part of it as well, right?" it said.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

Well, the System was kind of right. Yin Qiushan was his father, and that person was really no good at all.

"Tsk, tsk, using his brother's wife to threaten him... and then hurting Peng Wencheng... My 'father' sure has a lot of guts," Feng Yongrui muttered.

"Fine, fine," Feng Yongrui shook his head. "Let's stop talking about the Peng family. Long story short, when the protagonist is 14, he's already friends with Peng Hui..."

Feng Yongrui read the next few plot points and sighed. The protagonist's life sure was difficult.

After meeting and becoming friends with Peng Hui, Yin Longshen was able to earn money. He was under aged, but Peng Hui helped him open a bank account.

When he turned 15 years old, Yin Longshen had recruited several people to work for him and start building his own company. There were at least three important people who were vital to his company.

When he was 17 years old, his company, XBH, was already a medium sized company with a decent amount of income. It wasn't as large as Yin Qiushan's company, but it had a steady foundation and was rising rapidly.

Feng Yongrui stopped reading the information. He already had a rough idea of some important plot points that the protagonist had to go through. Now, all he needed to do was make sure he got closer to the protagonist while also making sure Yin Longshen became a business tycoon.

Several days passed after the incident with the butler. The butler was apprehended and questioned by Zhao Baozhai, so Feng Yongrui never saw him again.

Times passed in the blink of an eye, while Feng Yongrui and Yin Longshen grew closer and closer. Feng Yongrui was three years old now, and Yin Longshen was eleven.

When Yin Longshen turned eleven years old, Feng Yongrui wanted to give him a computer. Unfortunately, Feng Yongrui knew that his mother wouldn't allow him to give his Gege anything.

So, Feng Yongrui sneakily went to Yin Qiushan and insinuated several times that Yin Longshen needed a computer. Thankfully, he got the hint and gave Yin Longshen a computer for his 11th birthday.

Yin Longshen had also adapted to his school life. When he was first brought to the Yin family, everyone knew that he was an illegitimate child and a sore spot for Zhao Baozhai, so no one treated him well.

The children in the school looked down on him, and the servants neglected him on purpose. However, after Feng Yongrui dressed up as the Taoist Monk and visited the Yin family, Zhao Baozhai found him less annoying and let down her guard.

Yin Longshen's school life was also getting better. He wasn't bullied by other children anymore. Instead, he had made some friends. His grades were also good, making Yin Qiushan rather happy.

Now, Yin Longshen no longer stayed in the guest room on the first floor. Feng Yongrui and Yin Longshen were given one room for them to stay together, based on Feng Yongrui's request.

Zhao Baozhai believed that her beloved son needed to stay close to Yin Longshen, so she allowed them to stay together.

This room was renovated really quickly, and Feng Yongrui asked for several arrangements to be made.

For example, there were two types of sleeping places: one of them was a set of twin beds that were arranged next to each other. One was for Yin Longshen, and the other one was for Feng Yongrui.

The other sleeping place was a customized bunk bed. The top bunk was for Yin Longshen, since he was older and he could climb the ladder, while the bottom bunk was for Feng Yongrui.

...In all honesty, Feng Yongrui preferred the top bunk, but he knew that Zhao Baozhai and even Yin Longshen wouldn't agree for him to sleep on the top bunk. To say they were overprotective wasn't an understatement.

The System chided Feng Yongrui, saying he was childish. Wasn't he already a grown adult man? How could he still want to sleep on bunk beds?

But Feng Yongrui didn't care.

No matter how old you became, there were times when that childlike part of you stays with you. There are times when you want to indulge in childish fantasies again.

Since now he had the body of a child, Feng Yongrui didn't think it was wrong of him to want a bunk bed and indulge himself. The System called him names, but Feng Yongrui didn't care.

He wanted to enjoy life too, and he didn't want to pay too much attention to what other people thought of him.

Besides sleeping in the same room together, Feng Yongrui had also gotten closer to Yin Longshen because he managed to kick away the nanny.

That's right, Feng Yongrui no longer had the nanny keeping watch over him at all times. Feng Yongrui had used an excuse to tell Zhao Baozhai that he didn't want the nanny to stick to him all the time.

Feng Yongrui didn't dislike the nanny, but the problem was, the nanny was Zhao Baozhai's eyes and ears. Feng Yongrui was afraid that the nanny would obstruct his relationship with his older brother.

So now, Feng Yongrui and Yin Longshen were the only ones who stayed inside their room (there was no nanny to watch over the two of them).

In the beginning, Zhao Baozhai did not agree to this. She was worried that something bad might happen to Feng Yongrui. However, he managed to persuade her (using the Taoist Monk as an excuse) that everything would be fine.

Yin Longshen was also a good brother, and he didn't disappoint Feng Yongrui's expectations. He took care of Feng Yongrui with utmost care and paid attention to every detail.

Feng Yongrui was but three years old, so even though his mind was mature, it couldn't change the fact that his arms and legs were still short. When he couldn't reach something, Yin Longshen would help him.

Of course, Yin Longshen couldn't stick to Feng Yongrui 24 hours a day. Yin Longshen still had to go to school. So during the day, Feng Yongrui would be taken care of by the servants.

He was actually an adult, so Feng Yongrui never kicked up a fuss or gave the servants trouble. In the eyes of the adults, he was a responsible and sensible child. The servants were glad to serve him as well.

Over time, the Yin Longshen and Feng Yongrui developed a special bond and tacit understanding. Feng Yongrui felt really nice.

If in the first world he was like a father or teacher, in this world, he was the spoiled younger brother.

Now, back to the present... At that moment, Feng Yongrui and Yin Longshen were inside their room.

It had been 3 days since Yin Qiushan gave Yin Longshen his laptop, and today was the first day he was actually opening it.

Feng Yongrui couldn't understand his older brother. If he received a laptop, he would definitely open and use it immediately after using it. But his brother wasn't like that.

Yin Longshen had kept the laptop in the corner of the room. If Feng Yongrui didn't remind him about it, Yin Longshen would've probably forgotten the existence of that laptop!

"Ge, aren't you excited?" Feng Yongrui asked.

Yin Longshen had put the laptop on the bed and pressed the 'on' button.

"Well, I am excited, but I'm a bit worried," Yin Longshen said as he turned to face Feng Yongrui.

Feng Yongrui was clueless and asked, "What are you worried about? You can use the laptop to play games, right? Won't it be fun?"

Yin Longshen shook his head and reached out to pet Feng Yongrui's hair.

"Didi, you're too simple... I know playing games is fun and all, but what if I become addicted to it? I have to study well instead of wasting my time and playing around," Yin Longshen mused.

Feng Yongrui: "..."

As expected of a protagonist, he was really conscientious. Ordinary people simply couldn't compare.
