Chapter 70 - Fooling The Yin Family (Arc 2)

After a few minutes of waiting, the door was opened and a Taoist Monk entered the living room. Yin Longshen looked expectantly at the monk, and his eyes brightened when the monk entered.

Yin Qiushan greeted the monk and spoke a few perfunctory greetings, before introducing Zhao Baozhai and his two sons.

"Sir, this is my eldest son, Yin Longshen, and this is my second son, Yin Yongrui," Yin Qiushan said.

The monk nodded his head and stroked his beard. Yin Longshen turned his head to look at his younger brother. At that moment, he saw his younger brother give him a wide grin, and Yin Longshen smiled back.

"Sir, I invited you here today to take a look at my son's fortune," Yin Qiushan explained. "I heard that you are a great monk and your words always come true, so it would be my pleasure if you could bless my family..."

The monk, who was Feng Yongrui in disguise, nodded his head and sat down. After stroking his beard a few times, he beckoned to Yin Yongrui (the doppelganger). Zhao Baozhai put down her son and led him to the monk.

The monk held Yin Yongrui's small hands for a while and observed his face.

"Hmm.... This..." Feng Yongrui pretended to be shocked and withdrew his hand. He scanned the room and pointed at Yin Longshen.

"You, yes, you... Come here..." Feng Yongrui said.

Yin Longshen hesitated, but seeing Zhao Baozhai's glare, he scuttled over to the monk and gulped nervously.

Yin Longshen didn't think that the monk would call him. After all, he didn't think he was important. But, now that the monk actually called him, Yin Longshen began to feel anxious.

Now, it must be said that Yin Longshen was only a child. His understanding of monks was simple -- they were powerful, they probably had mystical abilities, and well, they lived in mountains or temples...

When the monk first called him, Yin Longshen thought that the monk wanted to talk to him about his future. He was afraid that the monk would be like Zhao Baozhai, looking at him with contempt and saying that he was a useless child.

If Zhao Baozhai or some other servant was the one who said he was useless, Yin Longshen could somewhat bear it.

But, if the one who said it was an all powerful monk who could see the past, present, and future... Yin Longshen frowned unconsciously when he thought of it.

Contrary to his worries, the monk simply held Yin Longshen's hand for a few seconds and observed his face.

"I have looked at your sons," Feng Yongrui said to Yin Qiushan. "If I'm not wrong... was there an incident when your youngest son got hurt? It must be something that happened recently, right?"

Yin Qiushan's eyes widened and he nodded his head.

"That's right, a few months ago, my youngest son fell down the stairs because his older brother pushed him," Yin Qiushan explained.

When Yin Qiushan spoke, both Feng Yongrui and Yin Longshen frowned. Yin Longshen had already told them that he never pushed his Didi, but everyone insisted that was the case.

Feng Yongrui was also upset and he wanted to glare at Yin Qiushan. As a father, how could Yin Qiushan talk badly about his son in public like this? He really wasn't giving Yin Longshen any face at all.

Displeased, Feng Yongrui pulled Yin Longshen closer to his side and spoke.

"Did you push your little brother down the stairs?" Feng Yongrui asked.

Yin Longshen hesitated on whether to answer or not. Every time he told others that the truth, no one believed him. Maybe it was better if he just keep quiet about it...

"Just tell me the truth," Feng Yongrui said quickly.

Yin Longshen twisted his hands shyly and replied, "No, I didn't push him."

Yin Qiushan's face showed embarrassment and he tried to salvage the situation, saying, "Well, you see, kids can be naughty and..."

"Since he said he didn't do it, it means he didn't do it. Based on what I see, your eldest son is an honest child. You shouldn't accuse him arbitrarily," Feng Yongrui said sharply.

Yin Qiushan gave a wry smile and nodded his head. "That's right... Sir, what do you think of my youngest son? How is his fortune?"

Feng Yongrui pursed his lips. "I noticed something, but I still need to confirm it. Please bring me your sons' birth dates, I would like to see them."

Yin Qiushan obliged and called a servant to write down his sons' birthday date and time. When it was finished, Feng Yongrui looked at it for a while and pretended to frown.

He clicked his tongue and shook his head helplessly. Of course, all of this was just an act. Feng Yongrui wanted the Yin family to stay in suspense so that his next words would be considered important.

"Sir, what's wrong?" Zhao Baozhai finally couldn't stand it anymore and asked. She had seen the monk shaking his head and sighing whenever he looked at her son.

Zhao Baozhai was worried. Was there something wrong with her son? If the monk dared to spout nonsense and Yin Qiushan believed his words...

Zhao Baozhai clenched her fists and glared at Yin Longshen hatefully. It was all because of that illegitimate child!

If he dared to obstruct her son's way...

"It's like this, after carefully observing your sons, I found out that Yin Yongrui has a unique constitution..." Feng Yongrui began spouting nonsense.

This was all part of his plan, and all of it was for one purpose: to let Yin Longshen stay close to him. This way, they could foster a good relationship...

"Unique constitution?" Zhao Baozhai asked.

Feng Yongrui nodded his head and sighed. "The aura surrounding him is really... aiyah, in any case, it can either be a good or bad thing."

Zhao Baozhai looked at him eagerly, and Feng Yongrui explained, "If he is left by himself, this aura will weaken his spirit and become bad luck. By that time, bad luck will follow him everywhere. It won't affect the people around him, but he will be negatively impacted."

"What? No... You must be talking nonsense! You must be a quack! My son will have good fortune no matter what!" Zhao Baozhai cried angrily.

Feng Yongrui secretly rolled his eyes when he heard her outburst. Well, it was true that he was a quack...

Feng Yongrui inadvertently glanced at Yin Longshen, and he was surprised to see the latter glaring angrily at him.

"Ding~ The protagonist's blackening value has risen to 7%~ Host, please keep up the good work," the System said cheerfully.

Feng Yongrui was stunned. Why did the blackening value suddenly go up?? He didn't do anything, right?

Meanwhile, Yin Longshen was glaring at the monk as anger bubbled inside his chest. How could the monk curse his little brother like this??

What bad luck? His little brother would definitely have good fortune and live a long and prosperous life!

Yin Qiushan had grabbed Zhao Baozhai and gave her a warning with his eyes, and then he turned to the monk.

"Sir, just now you said the aura around him will effect him negatively... Well, what can we do? You also said that it can be a good thing..." Yin Qiushan said.

Feng Yongrui, the monk, nodded his head.

"That's right, if left alone, Yin Yongrui will definitely have bad luck for the rest of his life. However, as long as someone with the right aura and constitution stays near him, then your youngest son's misfortune can be turned into auspicious blessings."

"In other words," Feng Yongrui explained, "as long as the right person stays near Yin Yongrui, then he will have good luck for the rest of his life."

"...I see," Yin Qiushan nodded in understanding.

Hearing the monk's words, Zhao Baozhai became flustered.

"Well... what kind of person should stay by his side?" she asked quickly. "As long as you described the person to me, I will be sure to find him or her!"

Feng Yongrui gave a small smile inside his heart. His plan was almost complete.

"About that... Just now, when I was looking at the eldest young master's birth date and aura, I noticed that he is very suitable. As long as he stays beside Yin Yongrui, then Yin Yongrui will naturally have good fortune," Feng Yongrui said.

Zhao Baozhai was obviously hesitating, and Yin Qiushan did not say anything either. His brows were furrowed and he seemedto be in deep thought.

Seeing that they were still hesitant, Feng Yongrui decided to give them one final push.

"I heard that Yin Yongrui fell down the stairs... Was he severely injured?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"Oh yes," Zhao Baozhai answered without much thought. "His head was even bleeding!"

"From where did he fall down? May I see?" Feng Yongrui asked.

Yin Qiushan did not see any problem with it, so he called a servant to lead the way. When they reached the spot, Feng Yongrui pretended to bend down and examine the area.

"You said he fell from here and landed there, right? It was such a high and dangerous place, and yet, his head was only bleeding? He didn't even need surgery, right?" Feng Yongrui asked.

"T-that's right," Zhao Baozhai replied, not sure on what he meant.

"Well, who was the closest person to him that day?" Feng Yongrui probed again.

Of course, he knew the answer to this question, but he had to pretend not to know.

"I-it was me," Yin Longshen spoke up.

Feng Yongrui nodded his head in approval. "Well, then I believe Yin Yongrui survived the fall because of you," he said to Yin Longshen.

"Can't you see? He survived because that kid's aura is naturally supportive and brings him auspicious blessings," Feng Yongrui said.

Zhao Baozhai sighed and pursed her lips. After hesitating for two seconds, she finally gave in.

"I see... Since that's the case, then... I believe we should let the two brothers get closer from now on..." she muttered softly.

Yin Qiushan also nodded his head in understanding. Feng Yongrui gave himself a high-five.

Mission complete!
