With Hu Zemin dead, Feng Yongrui and his disciples turned their attention to the Hu manor.
"Master, what should we do?" Ma Bo asked.
Feng Yongrui turned to Zhong Weimin. "What do you plan to do?"
Zhong Weimin sighed. "I'd prefer slaughtering everyone in here, but I think you would disagree, right?"
Feng Yongrui did not reply, but he pursed his lips.
Seeing how softhearted he was, Zhong Weimin did not say anything. He sighed and looked around the entire place. Thankfully, Hu Zemin had dismissed all the servants, so no one noticed what had happened.
Feng Yongrui was still deliberating on what to do when he heard some sounds. Frowning, Feng Yongrui opened the door and looked up.
From the sky, he saw three figures dressed in black jump from the roof and float down. They opened the Hu manor's gate and a swarm of cultivators rushed in. Feng Yongrui and the other three immediately hid in the shadows.
"Who are they?" Hou Renshu whispered.
Zhong Weimin shook his head. "I don't know, but they're definitely not the Hu family's friends."
The swarm of cultivators began arranging themselves into five rows, and a bearded old man walked forward. The Hu family servants who were guarding the door and happened to be there were terrified.
"Y-you! Who are you? How dare you come in here?" a male servant cried.
Feng Yongrui peeked his head out and observed the cultivators. Most of them were in the Golden Core Stage, but their leader was a Nascent Soul Cultivator.
All the cultivators wore the same type of gray robes with a dark wolf emblem on the right side of their sleeves. All the cultivators carried a sword a dagger. The leader was a middle-aged man with hard lines that etched his face.
"System, who are those people? Why are they here?" Feng Yongrui asked quietly.
The System was silent for some time before it replied.
"Host, those people are from the Lang Qiang Sect. That sect is quite large and is known for their upright conduct. Whenever they see injustice, they will not stand by," the System finally replied.
The middle-aged man was talking to the servants, but Feng Yongrui did not hear what he said.
"System, why do you think they're here... You said they can't stand seeing injustice, right? Could it be... they found out about the Hu family's crimes?"
"Most likely so," they System replied.
"But... how do they know what the Hu family did?" Feng Yongrui was puzzled.
"Ahem... that..." the System had yet to speak when Feng Yongrui saw a familiar face.
Xiang Si!
"Master, isn't that Xiang Si?" Ma Bo whispered.
"Yeah... I thought he died already," Zhong Weimin muttered.
Xiang Si was walking amongst the Lang Qiang disciples, moving closer to the leader. Xiang Si whispered some words to him, and then the leader told the disciples to search the area.
The disciples saluted and spread out through the area, going in twos or threes.
"Those people are from the Lang Qiang Sect," Feng Yongrui told the other three.
"I think they're here to check and capture the Hu family. From the looks of it, Xiang Si has turned against the Hu family and he's working for them now...." Feng Yongrui gave a brief explanation.
"I don't think it would be good for us if they discovered us here," Feng Yongrui whispered.
After all, they were from the Immortal Pathway Sect, and they came here without the Sect Master's permission. If they clashed with people from the Lang Qiang Sect, it might not be good.
They might even trigger a fight between the two sects.
"Let's just go back," Feng Yongrui decided. "We've already killed the father and son who were responsible for this incident. Since the Lang Qiang Sect is here, it would be better if we just leave the rest to them."
Zhong Weimin was a bit reluctant, but he agreed. Ma Bo and Hou Renshu were okay with it too.
In the dark of the night, four figures flew out of of the Hu Manor, escaping in the dead of the night. No one noticed them at all.
The four of them flew at high speed, not stopping to rest until they were far away from Nanjiang. Of course, Feng Yongrui did not forget to bring the Invisible Box with him.
When they were far enough from Nanjiang, the four of them stopped in a secluded area and breathed heavily. Feng Yongrui opened the Invisible Box and took out the children, who were still unconscious.
He told the other three to move aside for the time being while he extracted the Gu worms from the children. This time, Feng Yongrui's speed in extracting the Gu worms was faster.
When it was done, Feng Yongrui asked all the children where they were from. The children were still dazed, so Feng Yongrui gently explained the situation to them.
Knowing that they were free and they would no longer be tortured, the children was filled with mixed feelings. Happiness, disbelief, relief...
Feng Yongrui, his disciples, and Zhong Weimin escorted all the children home and returned to the Immortal Pathway Sect. Thankfully, no one had noticed their disappearance.
A few days later, a piece of news shocked the world. The Hu family had been conspiring with Demonic Cultivators and had used a forbidden array to forcibly increase their cultivation levels.
Thankfully, the Lang Qiang Sect intervened and took care of the Hu family. Those who had consciously been involved with the murder and torture of the children would be killed, while those who were innocently dragged into the mess would be forgiven.
For example, there were several maids and servants in the Hu family who had nothing to do with the kidnappings, but they were implanted with the Gu worm simply because they were servants of the Hu family.
There were also members of the extended Hu family who were innocent, like Hu Feizi's three year old nephew, his cousins, and a few of his concubines who had no idea of Hu Feizi's evil deeds.
As for Xiang Si... Feng Yongrui heard that, although he had been a part of the children's kidnapping, he wasn't killed by the Lang Qiang Sect because he had admitted his crimes and exposed the Hu family.
However, Xiang Si was not in the right state of mind. He lost his sister, killed hundreds of children to revive her, but ultimately found out that he had been tricked.
His feelings were complex: remorse, bitterness, anger, sadness...
Xiang Si finally lost his mind and killed himself, probably due to guilt.
Feng Yongrui didn't like Xiang Si because Xiang Si had been so cruel and laughed at Ma Bo's Demonic Constitution, but Feng Yongrui felt a bit sorry for him too.
Feng Yongrui was also grateful that Xiang Si didn't mention anything about Ma Bo's Demonic Constitution to the Lang Qiang Sect.
With those matters out of the way, Feng Yongrui and his disciples could enjoy their days in peace. Zhong Weimin wanted to stay in the Mountain Peak permanently, so Feng Yongrui decided to make Zhong Weimin his disciple.
At first, Zhong Weimin was a bit reluctant. He was a former Supreme Demon Lord! How could he become someone's disciple so easily like this?
Feng Yongrui wasn't anyone famous or super strong anyway...
But, under Ma Bo's urging, Zhong Weimin finally agreed. Of course, Zhong Weimin couldn't just enter the sect with his identity as a Ma Bo's pet.
Feng Yongrui pretended that he met Zhong Weimin by chance and took a liking to him, therefore making him (Zhong Weimin) his disciple.
The Sect Master had no objections regarding this, so Zhong Weimin successfully became Feng Yongrui's youngest disciple.
Feng Yongrui's days were peaceful, so he was able to check the rewards from the side quest last time. He received 100 points and 3 lucky draws, which was considered a good thing.
Now Feng Yongrui had 1,872 points in total. As for the lucky draws, Feng Yongrui wanted to know what he was able to get.
"System, what can I get from the lucky draws?" he asked. "Weapons? Items? Manuals? Skills? Or something else?"
The System was quiet for a while before it displayed a screen in front of Feng Yongrui. It showed the available things he could get and the probability of getting them:
1. Useless miscellaneous items/skills (Probability 40%)
2. Weapons (Probability 10%)
3. Medicine (Probability 10%)
4. Manuals (Probability 10%)
5. Items (Probability 10%)
6. Skills (Probability 10%)
7. Something you really need (Probability 5%)
8. Points (Probability 5%)
Feng Yongrui: =_=
The probability of getting a miscellaneous useless item was 40%! What kind of prank is this? System, now that the danger is over, you're back to being a scummy, greedy System!
"I see your true colors~" Feng Yongrui sang sadly inside his head. "But I do not love you~ You should be afraid, to let them show~ Your true colors~"
"...Host, do you want me to raise the probability of getting a useless item to 100%?" the System asked "kindly".
Feng Yongrui instantly stopped singing. Anyway, he had three lucky draws. He would try his luck first, and save the other two lucky draws for next time.
Feng Yongrui really wanted a skill, or an item that could hide Ma Bo's constitution... or something of that sort. It would be even better if he got a cultivation manual for Ma Bo.
Taking a deep breath, Feng Yongrui shut his eyes and wished for good luck.
"Alright System, I'd like to use on lucky draw right now!" Feng Yongrui cried.
"Ding~"
***
Feng Yongrui: Whoever made that lucky draw is a bad person.
System: Did you say something?
Feng Yongrui: Ahem, nothing, nothing...
