PROLOGUE
I woke up with a yawn.Allah made me woke up through the alarm. I sat up and stretched out my body. It was half past four. That is the time I set for my Night Prayer (Tahajjud). My husband was already up and I guess would be in the living room.
'Alhamdulillah' I muttered and stood up and headed towards the toilet...
I prayed till six before I went back to bed again. I don't think I can do without early morning sleep. It's already part of me. I lay and pull the blanket over me...
"Treasure... Treasure.." I heard my pet name and at the same time gentle taps on my shoulder. I was sub conscious and thought was dreaming, not until I heard a loud "Treasure!" in my ear drum. I sprang up with widened eyes. What was that for??? I turned to my left and beheld my husband laughing. I sighed and rubbed my eyes sleepily. "Salamualaikum.." I muttered and fell back to the bed again. "Wa alaikum Salam... Now don't tell me you want to sleep again?" He rested his hands on his hips " I'm sooo weak" I groaned " c'mon baby, stand up. It's sunrise already." He protested. I shut my eyes and pretended not to hear. He sighed "Miss Labeebah" he called me in a formal tone "stand up now or I drag you up" Oh Allah, I really love it when my husband drags me up from the bed, while I let all my weight on him. I stayed still with my lips twitched, preventing the laughter I held within. He sighed again. Before I could adjust, he pulled me up with so much force that I flew from the bed and landed on his body. "You don't have weight that could break my bone after all" he mumbled and drew me close that there was no space between us. I hid my red face on his chest. He chuckled and let go of me. "Have you checked the time?" He threw a question at me.
Why that?
I turned my head to the bedside clock.
" Ya Allah!"
I gasped
"8:37!"
I sprang up from the bed when I realized I haven't prepared breakfast..
Bismil Lah
Chapter 1
I was still in my pyjamas and had my hair tied in a ponytail. I quickly made for the kitchen but my husband drew me back " chillax, I have made breakfast, go and freshen up and meet me in the dining room" he concluded. I smiled at him appreciatively and proceeded to the toilet...
My name is Labeebah Ahmad. I am a happy Muslimah from the southern state of nigeria. I and my husband liver in Enugu state. Chisom is my tribal name. We have been married for five years now and Alhamdullilah,we have no child yet. Yet because I believe someday, we would. I haven't seen someone who is more loving than my husband. He is the type of man I've always wanted, and Alhamdullilah, Allah gave me what I wanted. I'm a woman of an extremely light skin. I am very beautiful,no doubt.Allah gifted me many things a man wants in a woman. Due to my beautiful face, I began veiling my face immediately I got married. I won't want unnecessary attention from men. And besides, Allah would reward me for that... I met my husband at the dining room, sitting in front of an empty table and punching away his phone. I walked past him to the kitchen. By now, I was wearing a brown gown. He had boiled yams and turned off the cooker.
Okay. Are we taking the yam with water?
"Should I add eggs to sauce?"
I asked from the kitchen " of course" he replied back. How much he loves eggs. He never can take yams without eggs. Within minutes, I was done and made some tea.
I carried the food to the table. I dropped a plate in front of him and sat down opposite him with mine. I guessed he caught a whiff of the aroma, cause of the way he dropped his phone on the table. He washer his hands and pushed the bowl towards me. I shook my head "I have washed already. From the kitchen" he shrugged and dug his fork into a piece of yam, after muttering Bismillah. We never eat without mentioning Allah's name. We know the value. Normalizing Bismillah is the beginning of all good. I was halfway done with the food. I reached for the glass of water beside me, when I noticed my husband staring at my chest. My thoughts went wild. I subconsciously placed my left hand on it.
Is he looking at my fair skin or...?
I slapped the thoughts off. As if he read my mind, he shook his head " no. It's not what you are thinking, I was actually looking at the necklace. It really look good on you" oh... I forgot I had a necklace on.
