Chapter 17 - She didn't feel much.

Her choice wasn't the only reason Davi choose to let Kelly be.

"Where are you going?" Kelly asked when she saw her packing her things that night. "Are you leaving?" She quickly asked and rushed down the stairs.

"Your Boranian stones. I need to know me more about them. Perhaps get more." She said, the girl visibly relaxed.

"I'll be back sooner than you know," Davi found herself saying. She saw it, someone cared. Alone for so long, she didn't feel much.

"Goodbye Aunt Davi," the girl waved from the door striking a cord in her heart, "be safe," she said.

"I will!" She said. The girl watched her all the way to the sidewalk, Davi pulled off her bracelet and returned to the door.

"Did you forget something?"

"Here," she said quickly, "it's silver. Some creatures are weak to silver. It should give you a running chance, just in case."

She smiled sweetly, "thanks Aunt Davi."

Davi snapped herself further down the side walk. The longer she stared into those eyes the more she felt. That was bad. Witches were supposed to be fine alone, she didn't get attached, she didn't believe in covens, it was a false sense of comraderie, she wanted no part in it. She was a powerful witch, she could survive on her own.

David got to the airport, she was headed for Kish, a country in the east. There was a coven deep in the mountains that offered aid to anyone with special needs, for a price.

For a moment, her hairs stood on ends. What was this?! A creature? Davi turned and her eyes met someone. Her blood ran cold. Of all creatures, and of all places. She backed away and the eyes followed her. Backing away wouldn't do much but they were in a public place, there were humans everywhere! She couldn't hurt her, right?!

Davi muffled her scream when her hands twisted unnaturally. Did she actually forget their powers were silent? She quickly muttered a spell and her body reappeared at the airport's door. She rushed out and muttered another, finding herself at the gate and further down until she was far enough not to be sensed.

David sighed and slid down the wall. Bloomers were a pain. Any other Bloomer wasn't a match, but of course her luck would pit her against Vivian Tyrone. Her bloodline was so old she probably met the vikings.

This was too close. Davi pulled out a pocket knife and cut her palm, muttering a spell. This might be excessive but she was facing a Tyrone. She was screwed otherwise. The blood pooled in the air and she swallowed it.

Warmth gurgled up Davi's throat and blood rushed out. Shit. Davi sprang up only to be forced to her knees.

"August let's witches run amok in his town?" Her stiff voice came across. She came in from the corner, her white suit matching her hair, "when I get to his place, he'll get a mouthful,"

"I thought to let you go. You were leaving town anyway," she shrugged, "then I wondered how many others you've killed. That wouldn't be fair now, would it?"

The Bloomer took off her suit, she rolled her sleeves and asked, "made or born? Don't lie to me, I'll know,"

Davi gulped, there was no escaping this time. She should have stayed in the crowded zone.

"Made," she mumbled.

Davi gasped when pain shot through her chest.

She coughed up blood and a smile etched on her face as blood trickled down her lips. She didn't even see the Bloomer move yet she was in front of her, her fist through her chest. Another reason Vivian was such a pain; she had the strength of a hybrid. Davi's eyes closed and her body slumped, her niece's smile was the last thought on her mind.

Kelly looked at the chain with a smile, she was scared she'd angered Davi last night. She didn't have anyone left. Aunt Davi was her last relative, one that actually cared.

Kelly sighed, she ought to get packing, August would pick her up in a few hours, the man was beyond impatient. If he wanted to start the experiments quickly, she was down with that, though her packing would be rushed.

She needed to get down to investigating. Hopefully she could cancel his name from her suspect list, she owed him a debt, one she didn't want to repay with a jail sentence.

Living with a billionaire, she wondered. What would her life be like? She wondered for a moment. Kelly sighed and leaned on the bed, she lifted the stones, there was only two left, one was cracked. The other one broke last night, she couldn't even tell why.

What would she do if they all snapped in August's house. Would her powers go haywire like before? What if she hurt someone?

She was ticking bomb, she should be isolating herself not moving in with normal people.
