Chapter 9 - The land of treasures.

Kelly stared at the mirror in a daze. The crevices didn't go away: they formed black lines on her sclera. Proof, she wasn't dreaming; proof, something was wrong with her.

She lifted her wrist. Boranian stones; was what Davi called them; black shiny marbles, four in total. One had cracked, the others would eventually. Then she was royally screwed.

"Chamomile tea," Kelly offered. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you,"

Davi sighed, "I know," she sniffed the cup, "not bad,"

Kelly smiled, "mom taught me,"

"Your powers will naturally seep through the beads, keep a leveled head. I will teach you spells to control them, and protect yourself," she took a sip.

"Protect myself?"

"Grandpa called you a destroyer, there are people who want your head on a spike,"

What?

"Don't think your powers will protect you, they'll only cause you harm," she said, "How was the funeral?"

The funeral. She ruined it. "It was fine,"

"Private Investigators?" Davi's voice pulled her attention.

Kelly hugged her knees, "I'm trying to find out what happened to my mother,"

Something flashed in Davi's eyes. Fear?

"Drop this." She said, "for your own good,"

"What?" Why? What did she know? "Do you know something?"

"Let this go. Your mother is at peace: don't put yourself in more harm than you already are," she got up and left.

Kelly stewed in her thoughts. What happened to her mother?

"What happened to her?!" She stormed into Davi's room.

Her aunt's face mirrored no emotion, "there are things that lurk far beneath the surface; humans are prey to them. Even with all your powers, you would be sheep to the slaughter,

"Go to bed, Kelly. We'll start training in the morning,"

___

Kelly woke to a commotion. She barely got any sleep. No matter what Aunt Davi said, she wasn't giving this up. She could do it alone.

What was going on down there? She covered her robes and rushed down;

"What do you know? A stray dog," Davi's sarcastic voice came from the door.

"You're brave, witch," came another familiar voice.

"Of course I am. You can't come in,"

"Aunt Davi?" Davi moved from the door and Kelly noticed someone else, "Damian?" What was he doing here?

Shock fleeted across Davi's face, "you know this beast?!"

Beast? What beast?

"May I, miss Richardson?" Damian asked

"Sure,"

"No!" The speed Davi close the door shocked Kelly, Damian was faster. He pulled her out and shut the door behind her.

What just happened? Kelly yawned and stretched; yeah, that wasn't normal. She reached for the door when they pushed it open. They seemed fine.

"I didn't know Mr Damian was your friend," Davi said charily.

Why did she look like she was being held at gunpoint? Damian tapped her shoulder and walked in.

"What are you doing here?" She asked with another yawn. She didn't know how this friendship happened, but it could be worse.

Damian ruffled her hair, he passed her a bag. "Saturday, 9pm. Harrington. Don't be late,"

"What? Harrington for what?!" He was already out the door. Kelly sighed, he clearly wasn't serious, she wasn't a lapdog, she didn't just follow orders.

"I had a dream about mom," Kelly said at the kitchen counter.

"That must be it," Davi said.

"Must be what?"

She gestured, "It's cracked,"

Shit. Another crack? From a dream? It barely held together as it was.

"Your gift is linked to your emotion." Davi passed her a plate.

Bacon and eggs, "thanks," Kelly smiled.

"Classes today?"

"No," She took a bite.

"Good, we'll train." Davi said, "eat quickly,"

___

She sat cross-legged in the garden. Davi hovered around her,

"Can you feel it?"

The magical stream of energy, from nature's water? No! The leg cramp was there though.

"No," Kelly said, "can't you just show me?"

"I can't," Davi said,

"You did the magic water thing before,"

"That was different!" Davi's frustration was glaring, "you're feeling for nature's life; it's a call, listen,"

Listen. Listen. Listen.

She heard a whisper and her eyes snapped open.

Kelly gasped, she got up slowly. Yeah, she was certainly not in the garden anymore.

Tiny creatures hovered around. They rushed her way, speaking a language she didn't understand. One held her face with her tiny hands and her eyes swirled with rainbow colors.

"You have to go, he's here!"

"Who's here?" Kelly asked.

"Him!"

"I don't like him," one muttered only to get elbowed,

"We need him!"

They were a rowdy bunch. "Whom are you talking about?" Kelly asked warily. "What are you?" This place was beautiful, she didn't want to leave. Some were green, others yellow; some had no color.

"You need to go!" they attempted pushing her.

"Go? Where am I?" Go? She just got here!

"Oh no," one gasped.

Thick abysmal darkness spread in the bubbly forest. It consumed everything in it's path,

"Now!" They said, and gathered around her. Green lights floated out of their hands, it enveloped Kelly.

"Serelia!"

A deep voice thundered, the creatures jumped and gasped facing the only one of them with blue hair -the one who held her face earlier-. Dread mirrored in their eyes.

She turned to the growing darkness. With her hair whipping across her face, her body turned to dust.

Kelly's eyes opened with a start.

"What happened?"

That was what she wanted to know! What was that?!

"I got to a place; a forest of some kind. Little... creatures all around. It was beautiful," it really was, she'd never seen anywhere so breathtaking and it smelled of cinnamon.

Davi rushed in front of her, "You saw the land of treasures?!" She asked

The land of treasures? Yeah, it sounded right, that place should be treasured.

"Darkness spread while I was there, the creatures chased me out." Nothing. A darkness that screamed of maddening nothingness.

"I've never seen anything so..."

"Dreadful?" Davi spoke, "the Nagi. A creature born and belonging to darkness. It rules the land of treasures.

"They were right to send you away. It has no mercy to outsiders,"
