Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Dilemma With the Relic

While Fedyenka was laying on the ground, she took some specially made medicines so that the acids in her stomach would be mitigated. She thanks her herself because as she remembers, she took some gastric medicines and later added some sugar to it to make it more basal. She didn't think that it could actually work. In her mind she was saying, "Wow, my dumb logical idea actually worked. Most of my ideas never failed though."

She rose up from the ground and turned into a small black bat. Then she flew away. She ate unwashed fruits and played by hanging on the trees to make the guards think that she is just an ordinary bat. Though, no one could see her in the night because of her color. By moving from one place to another and by following her father's voice, she reached the window of the room they were having a meeting at. Since she was small and black, people could barely notice her. Fedyenka heard the conversation hiding in a corner of some tree branches.

"Your Majesty Oleg, the mystery man who came was wearing the exact same badge your troops has. Even though his body was covered in a long black hoodie, we could still see that he was wearing a badge similar to your troops."

Oleg replied, "Maybe someone is trying to frame me. Who knows? Maybe the person is among us."

At that moment everyone stared at King Oleg like a hawk. "What is the guarantee that the thing you stated is just an excuse, Your Majesty? Perhaps you are saying all these because you know that you are powerless here right now. Yet, showing us some reasons might let you flee from justice. Isn't this what you think King Oleg?

"Mind your tongue Sabio Second." said King Olge.

The Twenty Leaders of Humanos Sabios are addressed like this. Each of them are sages. Sabio Second is a high ranking one and is also the youngest among them. Not many people likes him because of his attitude but that day everyone was listening to his words blindly.

"Sabio Second is not exactly wrong, Your Majesty. We all are suspects here. No one is trustworthy now. But we must find the culprit ourselves to prove our own innocence." said Sabio First.

"Sabio First, we have been talking about only ourselves. What if the culprit is among the commoners and other guests in this palace?" said Sabio Tenth.

"Ah, this is getting more complicated as we just sit here and discuss it. We have to find some clues than just slacking off by blaming each other." said King Agwang the King of all Werewolves. He rules the land called Chiwambwa.

"Listen here all our majesties, King Oleg is a close friend of mine who used to bother to even steal snacks from the kitchen. I don't believe that he is the one who ordered that punk to steal such important relic. So stop blaming everyone and start finding it yourselves." said King Agwang. King Agwang has always been a free spirited person. He never cared about royalty as he didn't care at the moment.

King Oleg smiled at his dear friend Agwang. The Wolf King's trust was the greatest support King Oleg could ever had during that time.

"Alright, we shall begin our meeting again the next day. It is decided that we, from now start investigating. Dismissed." said Sabio First.

Fedyenka had a bit to relief hearing that conversation. But when she looked back she was frightened. She saw a big white bat behind her. Then both of them flew to a tree really high and wide spread.

"What the bloody fuck are you doing here? You're white, you're gonna get caught." said Fedyenka.

"We shouldn't have pampered you so much you bloody brat. Mind your tongue!" said Felix with a raging face.

"Hurry up, no one's here right now. Let's sneak into my room. There is a big hole in my room that leads to that pipe over there. Let's go."

Right after Fedyenka finished her sentence, she flew and left her brother with no other choice but to fly with her to where she goes. They entered the dirty pipe and finally reached her room. When they reached it, they saw someone opening the door. Fedyenka turned into her normal self as fast as she could and Felix hid somewhere behind a wardrobe in that room.

"Greetings Sabia Third."

"Greetings Princess Fedyenka. I'm surprised you haven't slept yet. Your father sent me to check on you."

"Why would my father send you to check on me when I have about a hundred servants prepared for me?'

"Clever as always Your Highness. But you should trust people more. You are young and have a long life ahead of you. Trust is key to win people's heart."

"Pardon me Sabia Third, I have no intention to win anyone's heart. May I know why exactly you came here?"

"I have already told you Your Highness. During the meeting we've recently had, King Oleg himself told one of us to take care of you. I took the responsibility to do it. Unfortunately, your father is one of the suspects."

"No...Why would he be suspect? He's so kind and humble." said Fedyenka with a face that is enough to convince the Sabia that she knows nothing of the meeting. Her face turned pale and she backed to her bed.

"Don't lose hope Your Highness. I'm sure His Majesty will prove his innocence." said Sabia Third with a gentle face. Fedyenka knew that the face is indeed fake and she can do nothing about it at the moment. Sabia Third told Fedyenka that she will clean the room up herself for her.

"Sabia Third, where is my mother? How does she fare?" said Fedyenka with a worried voice.

"Her Majesty is fine Your Highness. Since she is the wife of one of the suspects, she is also restricted to make contact with several people. Especially the people who are close to them. I hope you understand the reasons Your Highness."

"I do...Why does it have to be like this?"

Felix on the other hand was amazed by his sister's drama skills. After Sabia Third finished comforting Fedyenka, she told her to leave for a while. She went to the corner of the wardrobe a bit and nodded her head. She started sobbing. At that moment, her brother climbed her long gown and reached the pocket, then got in. Sabia Third cleaned the room up. The pillows and the curtains were changed. The dusty wardrobe was cleaned.

"There. I hope you have a great time here Your Highness. I still have a lot of work left. I will leave these two maids, Mona and Moco for your assistance."

Sabia Third leaves. Mona and Moco didn't seem so sociable. Fedyenka asked them if it was possible to give her some alone time in the garden she could see from the balcony. They both nodded and got started leading her. When they got there, they left. Fedyenka could still notice that there is a strange shadow from the tree she was sitting under. In no time she realized that the maids were spying on her. And also the thing that they weren't humans but Echindas. Echindas are half snake and half human. Only the ones more than 100 years old can turn into a full human. But if they ever break the contract for which they have gotten the boon to turn into a human, they will turn into stones. It's a curse they has to bear for their ancestor's fault.

She held her gown tight and kept walking in the garden. The reason behind it was to hold her pocket tight so that her brother don't come out. After a while she called for the maids. They took a while to get to her. Right at the moment they got there she saw a black kitten meowing at her behind the maids. Moco asked, What is it, your Highness? Fedyenka told them that she wishes to eat something sweet. The maids asked what she would like and she told Mona to bring her some hot coffee with chocolate in it and Moco to make her some pancakes.

They both hesitated before going. To find an excuse not to go Moco said, "Your Highness, you have already have dinner. If you eat too much I'm afraid it would only leave flaws on your flawless beauty."

"Everyone has flaws Moco. Just like how you are not a perfect maid either. You were supposed to follow my commands while your master is away. Now I wish to eat some mere dishes and you act like this?"

"We dare not, Your Highness. Please don't misunderstand our reasoning. Moco is the best at cooking. She'll go while I'll be with you to take care of you." said Mona.

"Hm...if you don't wanna leave now, that explains why I saw that strange shadow. You two never left me alone and been lying to me. Why?

"We have our reasons Your Highness" said both Mona and Moco.

Saying that, they slowly took their real form and started going toward the princess as she backs away.
