Chapter 37 - Chapter no.37 A Cry in the Wilderness

Beneath a brilliant sun, the verdant flora of Skull Island danced to the rhythm of waves crashing against the shore. The once-pristine gardens and opulent forests now lay in wild disarray, their unkempt grasses and tangled vines intertwining across the earth.

Towering trees stood tall and proud, their boughs locked in a fierce embrace, leaves rustling softly in the gentle breeze as they reached skyward. The trunks were thick and gnarled, their roots clinging tenaciously to the rocky soil. The forest canopy provided shelter and shade for the creatures that roamed below, shielding them from the hot sun and tropical storms that raged across the island.

The underbrush was thick with ferns and mosses, creating a dense and tangled maze that was both beautiful and treacherous. Small streams and waterfalls cascaded through the foliage, providing a refreshing source of water for the creatures that lived on the island.

As the sun rose higher in the sky, the colors of the flora burst forth in a kaleidoscope of hues. Flowers bloomed in every shade of the rainbow, from the delicate pink blossoms of the orchids to the fiery red petals of the hibiscus. The scent of the flowers was heady and intoxicating, attracting fuzzy buzzy and butterflies to their nectar.

Despite the lack of human intervention, the flora of this land thrived, adapting to its ever-changing environment, driven by a new consciousness born from the awakened spiritual Qi. A new ecosystem emerged, one that was self-sustaining and interconnected, a hive mind unto itself.

The island's geography and topography were equally varied and awe-inspiring. Rocky cliffs jutted out from the coastline, their weathered faces battered by the relentless waves of the sea. Inland, the terrain was rugged and mountainous, with deep valleys and steep ridges that presented a constant challenge to those who dared to explore it.

The weather patterns on the island were also unpredictable and often dangerous.

As they sat around the fire, the group of teens hungrily devoured the food that had been set before them. The sound of their chewing filled the air, and for a brief moment, they were able to forget about the dangers that lurked around every corner of Skull Island.

But as the meal came to an end, the mood among the group began to shift. Suspicion hung heavy in the air, and each member eyed the others warily, wondering who could be trusted.

GuangJin Ye, always quick to stir up trouble, spoke up with a menacing undertone in his voice. "What do you think, Boss?" he asked, turning to Ye Mo.

Ye Mo took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he knew would be a difficult conversation. "Listen here, you fools," he began, his voice filled with anger. "We didn't come here to share a meal. We came here to win, to conquer. We don't know when our enemies will return, so we must conserve our resources. With all this food, everyone will come crawling to us, and there will be no one who can act like they're the boss. With everyone under our control, it's only a matter of time before we acquire that high-grade martial skeleton."

His lackeys nodded in agreement, eager to please their leader. But Ye Mo knew better. He whispered under his breath, "Maybe."

Just then, the cries of crows interrupted their conversation, and the birds took flight from a nearby location. Ye Mo's eyes lit up with excitement. "You heard that sound, right?" he exclaimed. "Our next prey is near."

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm, orange glow over the sky, the group set out into the forest. They moved quickly, their senses on high alert, knowing that danger lurked around every corner.

And it wasn't long before they stumbled upon Lee Min, hanging from a tree, her white hair obscuring her face. She begged for their help, her voice shaking with fear, but Ye Mo only sneered in response.

"What would you do for me if I helped you down?" he taunted, relishing in the power he held over her.

Despite her injuries, Lee Min refused to back down. "Let me down, and I'll forget this ever happened," she pleaded.

But the group saw her as nothing more than a plaything, a pawn in their game of survival. And so they watched with perverse interest as GuangJin Ye picked up his corseque and aimed it at Lee Min's leg.

The fear was suffocating, making it hard for her to breathe. She wanted to cry out for help, but the words wouldn't come. She was trapped in her mind, paralyzed by the terror that was consuming her.

As she closed her eyes, hoping that the fear would somehow disappear, she couldn't help but wonder what had become of the once-pristine paradise that lay around her. This was no longer a place of untamed beauty, but a place of darkness and fear, where only the strong survived. And as she screamed for help, she knew that the stakes were higher than ever before.

In the North Eastern part of Skull Island a group had gathered in the clearing, tension thick in the air.

Chun Jiao stood at the center, her eyes scanning the faces of those around her, searching for any hint of dissent.

She had managed to convince the majority of the group that Xie Dongyi was a threat that needed to be eliminated, but she knew that there were still those who disagreed with her.

As she spoke, her words were met with murmurs of agreement from some, while others looked on with skepticism.

Chenxi watched as Chun Jiao spoke to the others, his mind whirring with thoughts. He knew that Chun Jiao was a threat to his own power, and he couldn't let her get in the way of his ambitions. "She's manipulating them," he thought to himself. "I can't let her convince them to take out Xie Dongyi without a fight. I have to show them that I'm the better leader."

Meanwhile, Xiao Khan had his own agenda. He had always been envious of Chun Jiao's charisma and charm, and he felt that he deserved to be the leader instead as it was his right as a man.

"I can't let her win," he thought, clenching his fists. "I have to show them that I'm the better choice. I'll use this opportunity to gain their support and prove my worth."

As for Lu Wendong, he had always been a follower, content to let others make the decisions. But as he listened to Chun Jiao speak, he felt a sense of unease. "What if she's wrong?" he wondered. "What if taking out Xie Dongyi isn't the right thing to do? But I can't go against the group. I have to follow their lead."

Hu Chenxi, always eager to take charge, stepped forward to voice his own opinion.

"Chun Jiao, I understand your concerns, but I think we need to consider all of our options before we take such drastic measures. Killing Xie Dongyi could have consequences that we cannot predict."

Chun Jiao bristled at the implication that she hadn't considered the consequences. She knew exactly what she was doing, and she had thought it through from every angle.

But before she could respond, Lu Wendong chimed in. "I agree with Hu Chenxi. Killing Xie Dongyi may not be the best solution. We need to think about our own positions in this group and how we can best secure our own power."

Chun Jiao could feel her frustration mounting. She had worked tirelessly to bring this group together, to forge a sense of unity and purpose, and now it seemed that everyone was more concerned with their own agendas than with the good of the group.

As she looked around at the faces of her supposed allies, she couldn't help but wonder how many of them would turn on her if it served their own interests. She knew that she was in a precarious position, and that if she didn't act decisively, she would be the one who ended up on the chopping block.

And so, with a heavy heart, she made her decision. She would go forward with her plan to eliminate Xie Dongyi, even if it meant risking everything she had worked so hard to build. She could only hope that those who remained loyal to her would see the wisdom in her actions, and that they would stand by her side when the time came.

"I have to make them understand," Chun Jiao thought. "I have to show them that I'm the one who can lead us to victory."

The rugged shores of Skull Island were battered by the relentless pounding of the waves. From the tumultuous waters emerged a young man with fiery red hair, his body slick with water and blood.

....

The water droplets cascaded down my muscular frame as I climbed onto the shore, a look of determination etched on my face. I had been underwater for hours, waiting patiently for the right moment to strike. And now, I had emerged victorious, having slain a monstrous sea serpent.

I held the severed head of the beast, its blood still dripping from its open maw. I hefted the head up and flung it into the sea with a grunt of satisfaction. The water turned red as the creature's blood mingled with the waves.

I cursed under my breath, frustrated that the wind had blown my bubble away, wasting precious time. I surveyed my surroundings, acutely aware that the open beach made me an easy target. I needed to find a place to hide before I could begin my hunt for the reincarnator who had taken over Xie Dongyi's body.

I had little interest in the special grade martial skeleton of the Black Lotus Cult or the special grade martial skeleton, which Alexander had stored in his laboratory. Instead, I sought the reincarnator, who would possess the ability to forge a scroll with a Martial Skeleton of my choosing. The value of a martial skeleton from the reincarnator would far exceed anything the Black Lotus Cult or Alexander could provide.

I had studied Alexander's journals carefully, knowing that whoever entered the Library in the center of the island would be granted a scroll to record the martial skeleton of their choice alongside a box of golden needles needed for the formation.

The reincarnator would definitely go to the martial skeleton library and forge his own scroll to gain access to the golden needles. All I needed to do was to find the reincarnator before he left the library and steal his scroll.

"I need to find some high ground to see where everyone is," I thought to myself before disappearing into the dense forest of hands, my eyes scanning the area for any potential threats. I moved with an innate grace, like a predator stalking its prey.

With my mission clear in my mind, I set out on my hunt, my red hair and blood-stained body.

I would do whatever it takes to achieve my goals and emerge victorious in the end.
