"Stop there right now."
Elise tugged on her sleeve and examined her wrist. She saw a scar on Camilla's wrist. It appeared to have been a snip. After glancing at Camilla, she turned to face the other maids.
They both shook their heads, saying, "We did nothing."
After a brief examination of the injury, she adjusted the sleeve, as if nothing had happened. They dressed Camilla in the gown, left her there, and then left the room.
Through the window, a chilling breeze was flowing. The flame of the candle began to flutter. Camilla had been sleeping soundly when her eyes suddenly opened wide.

"Adela, what are you saying?"
Adela turned her head sideways toward her mother before saying something in response to her query.
"But, Mother, I believe something powerful was inside of her, attempting to destroy and control everything. The thing appears to be hungry for Wallachia. It appears that something is seeking vengeance."
