[The scene changes to Adela's palace]
Adela brought Camilla along and told the count that Camilla would spend the night with her. When their carriage came to a halt, Veronica stepped out to greet them. Veronica asked in a distressed voice as Adela got out of the carriage.
"Is she okay?"
Veronica asked as she peered into the carriage.
"Yes, Mother, but she fainted during practice."
"Is that a consequence of fatigue?" Veronica inquired in a tense manner. Adela arched her eyebrows but took her time responding to her mother. She looked at Camilla and then turned around to respond.
"Why, Mother? Can't she faint from exhaustion?"
Veronica was a little uncomfortable when she unexpectedly heard Adela. She opened her mouth to speak, but she was at a loss for words. "Of course, she can." Veronica stumbled over her words. Adela smiled widely and replied, "Why do you ask, Mother, then? I assure you that there is nothing to be concerned about."
"Does Father return home?" she said again.
