When Draven first saw Adela, he felt insecure in her presence. He wondered if Adela was blessed with heavenly strength because her mother had consumed Anesthesia's blood. Adela would be his only option if she had inherited Anesthesia's blood, but if she had not or possessed godlike powers, he must assassinate her as quickly as possible.

He was still in the haze, though. Before he could accomplish that, Alison distracted him, and he could not discover the truth. And the dream—that was what truly frightened him. Adela described the man as having black hair and wearing rings.

As Draven examined his hands, he saw that his fingers had rings. Does this mean that it was him? He shook his head and said to himself, 'No, that can't be.'
