"Your royal highness, the phoenix may be within the hall," the knight stated hesitantly. He failed to spot the phoenix nearby.
The emperor made a sound, "hmm." He inhaled deeply and reached out to touch the flames. It was impossible to escape the flames. The wind blew erratically around the hall as the emperor raised his hands.
The wind appeared to be gusting especially fiercely in that spot. The rings that the emperor was wearing started to shine more and more. All the dukes, barons, and marquises were standing behind the emperor, watching the event. They had never witnessed the emperor using magic in such a manner. Perhaps the phoenix held such significance for him.
There were also David and Alex there. The flames dropped dead. The monarch looked away from the building and faced the knight.
"Go inside and find the phoenix for me."
