"But Adela-," Alfred was about to say something, but he stopped in the middle. Seeing Alfred tighten up, the physician spoke out.
"Yes, my lord, I know she has the capacity to take any poison, which is why, as you can see, she isn't entirely affected. But who can predict the future?"
"Anything can happen."
Alfred seemed gloomy as he listened to the doctor. He also understood that the doctor was correct—no one could predict what would happen in the future.
"My Lord, I think you should talk to the duchess. She is a sorceress; maybe she can assist us with this problem," the physician said to calm Alfred's anxiety.
"But I just can't. She'll be concerned if she finds out." Alfred spoke while heaving a sigh.
Alfred was contemplating something serious. Adela was a miraculous child for him and his wife, and they treasured her.
