It was a chilly night. Kunal was standing near a book store lost in a deep thought.

'Sigh... why is my life so miserable am I destined for this. I am already in my late 30s but not married yet but who can I even blame'.

Kunal didn't graduate from a good university but rather a private college in his city which is just a small and much underdeveloped city.

Despite having chance to go to bigger university he rejected it due to his father's small delivery company which he thought would inherit in the future but it went bankrupt due to extreme losses.

having a degree from local college didn't worth much and it was hard finding a job more than half of his salaries of initial days were gone just for repayment of education loan.

In next few years managed to save some money for himself but one day when he heard news of his parents being met with a car accident world shook beneath his feet. he tried his best but all his savings were gone he took a huge debt but he couldn't save them in the end.

Debts kept piling on Kunal he worked tirelessly even did some part time jobs but no matter what his life was getting miserable.

He was just 36 Once a prince charming of many girls he used to be very handsome but due to tensions and difficulties in life his appearance looked older than his age he almost looked like a man in his late 40s even showing signs of balding.

Kunal walked inside the bookstore, The only thing which motivated him to continue living was his hobby for books. he liked most of the genres be it fantasy, romance, trade, game, etc. he was a person who can easily immerse himself into world of books for hours.

As he walked into the bookstore the owner of the bookstore greeted him. he searched for sections before stopping near business section and picked a small book he paid the rent for the book and started reading it. It was possible to read books by paying the rent and browsing the book it was recently applied pay per view model of the books,

two hours later he finished reading the book, he was quite fast if compared to normal people due to his frequent reading he developed a very high speed of reading. He was about to leave when his eye fell on a book 'new world new life' placed at mystery section. he was not a avid reader of mystery genre but somehow this book appealed to him. He picked up the book he browsed introduction and a few pages.

When he read the introduction, he laughed, "seriously... who even writes like this half Hindi half English and that too with both the scripts together what's more it talks about multiverse, different people transmigrating to different world and all."

Somehow the book intrigued him it was a thick book a thick one with a hard cover he was short of cash but in the end he just couldn't decide to leave it as it is but sheer thickness of book again made him think of price as it must be costly.

He went to store owner and inquired. "What about this book?"

The owner happily greeted him and then glanced at him and then at the book for few seconds and then he said "oh this book... actually it doesn't belong to this bookstore there was a person who left it here a month and no one came to claim it. I remember you are a regular customer just take it and give me ₹50 and leave me your address andcontact information. If someone comes and fights me for it I will try to settle it or else just send him to you its a win win situation."

Kunal thought for a minute and handled him ₹50 immediately and returned home with the new book. It was one room apartment which was fortunately his, after cooking a few chapatis and dal he ate the dinner. Then he went out with his friends for chat.

After returning home Kunal immediately started reading his novel. After reading it for two hours he was completely immersed in the book intrigued by authors imagination which was more like records of different people travelling to different worlds and living lives.

What was unique abouyt this book was that not all was a happy ending someplots were where protagonist ended worse than death while some were even killed on the day of the transmigration. The more he read the more intrigued he became imagining all those scenarios and he felt asleep.

The next morning when Kunal woke up, he realized it was already 8 am he was late for work if he took next metro which was at 8:20 AM he would still be half an hour late till he reaches the work place. He immediately went to bathroom to wash his face and changed into his work clothes. packed all the documents in his bag and rushed to metro station. He barely made it and door closed as soon as he rushed in.

When Kunal reached his office, the boss immediately called him. Although he worked at an MNC his pay was not much, his company followed a strict hierarchy and his direct superior was a worst fellow he always tried to scold him for smallest mistakes, He knew Kunal was more important than him and if he didn't do it Kunal will be promoted to higher position than him due to his skills being much superior than himself and to always downcast him, he chose to scold him for slightest of details and frequently took credit of his work today was best opportunity to scold kunal as he was half an hour late.

He called kunal in his office and start lecturing him and saying that if it were to happen again he would not tolerate, he will deduct his pay for the month and his bonus will be cancelled he kept on repeating things and badlym scolded him until kunal was on verge of breakdown. If not for shortage of jobs kunal would have immediately left company but he can't so he decides to bear with it.

When he completed his task and it was time for break hen decide to read the novel. He noticed that cover of the novel was coming off and it was actually a fake cover. Curious he removed the cover when something from the cover pierced his hand and a drop of blood suddenly fell of the new cover and it got absorbed. But Kunal didn't notice this he just saw that his finger was pierced a little so he immediately washed his finger and put the book in his bag and went to toilet.

Suddenly he heard a voice "do you want to get rid of this boring and miserable life and live a new life"

Kunal was shocked beyond words.

"Who are you where are you speaking from"
