Chapter 1 - Godly Relic

A godly relic,

These were the artifacts that could make a normal power an apex power just by possessing it.

James had sought after clues throughout the greater God's Domain for a full 5 years, paid hundreds of millions of mana gold just for the small chance to find this, and he did.

After the brief joy of finding the artifact, however, his expression turned sower, he would have to hand this relic over to the guild, and he would likely get close to nothing for it, while thinking about this all the bad memories of his guild, 'the flaming tigers' came flooding in, because of his low social status, James had to work himself from the bottom up, he wasted all his prime years, the years where you could make the most progress in combat stance, doing odd jobs, even though he was incredibly talented, his feud with one of the higher-ups prevented him from getting more resources.

James never knew he was talented, but later in life, after his prime was long gone, he managed to just reach the Domain Realm's first level in the realms of Refinement, these levels referred to how well one had honed their senses in-game, Domain Realm experts would have complete control over their body, having honed their senses to such an extent where they could perceive everything, even a raindrop falling within a specific radius around them.

James had also managed to reach the 2de Realm in the realms of truth, the Ascension Realm, these realms determine how well one could move their in-game body, the realms of truth focus on maximizing the potential of one's body, people in this stage could perform combat techniques, essentially martial arts techniques, with every move.

Even with all of this talent, James had only just managed to become a [Tier 6] sword god 5 years ago, it didn't matter if he had talent, you needed resources to get to [Tier 6], and he simply didn't get many.

At the time when he had become [Tier 6] James was over the moon, they weren't in the greater gods Domain back then, they were still only playing with the players of their universe, being a [Tier 6] meant something there, you could be considered a powerhouse, even the super guilds of their universe didn't have more than 10, but all of this joy disappeared when their world connected to the greater gods Domain, his combat stance was still considered quite good, but being a [Tier 6] simply didn't matter anymore, in a world that was thousands to even millions of times bigger than their gods Domain, that connected millions of gods domains that had existed for maybe even 10 or a 100 times longer than theirs, a single normal [Tier 6] was nothing, even though getting to [Tier 6] was still incredibly difficult, with the amount of them in existence, a single [Tier 6] like James with limited resources could do nothing, these apex powers held battles consisting of a 1000 or so [Tier 6] players on average, all of them having good foundations and combat stance, what could he do.

In combination with all of this, he had a terrible foundation, he had rushed to [Tier 6] by constantly struggling upwards, he didn't have the luxury to only take the opportunity's that would make him the strongest down the line, he had to take what he could get.

While thinking about his bad past James' thoughts got interrupted by a system message, his inspector skill was done inspecting the godly relic.

[Heart of Cronus](godly relic)

The heart of the ancient God of time Cronus, this item has long lost close to all of its energy, making it incapable of transporting physical matter through time and/or space, but nonphysical things could be considered in its ability.

Not able to be dropped

Additional active skill: soul movement

Allows the user to move his soul to any point in space-time by consuming the artifact, also gives the user a close connection to Cronus, and gives him his legacy.

.....

"W-what"

James couldn't help but let out his confusion a little, he had seen 2 godly relics in the past 5 years, both of them having 10 or so skills, these relics also weren't designed to aid 1 player, their skills are most helpful to big organizations, but all of that power that was normally divided between 10 skills lay combined in one, and from the looks of it, it was a 1-time use skill to.

After the confusion whore off a wave of happiness came over James, he could use this, normally he would get hunted down by everything and everyone, including his guildmates if he decided to use a godly relic himself, but there was no way they would ever find him in the past.

"calm down James calm down, I need a plan first"

He needed to calm himself down for a second, if he went to the past now he would achieve big things, but with a little preparation, he could dominate.

Another notification interrupted his strain of thought while walking out of the ancient ruin.

[The energy left in heart of Cronus has started to rapidly deplete, in 48 hours the heart will have lost too much energy to function]

"Fuck"

He was at least going to take a year to collect information, but it seems that that wasn't going to happen.

James immediately quickened his pace and used his Tier 5 teleportation scroll, this would let him teleport nearly anywhere, in any god's Domain, this scroll was incredibly valuable, but that didn't matter anymore.

Appearing before a grand building in a town that didn't see much traffic, he wasted no time and walked up to the front counter in the main hall, where a cute elven receptionist greeted him, this was not an NPC but a player, this alone was enough to show the wealth of the organization, even the normal elf was a quite rare race to come across, normal powers surely didn't have the capital to let a receptionist change inter any race, let alone an elf.

"Welcome to the flower of seven sins, can I help you with something?"

Flower of seven sins is an Assassin organization that was originally from his own god's Domain, after they connected to the bigger gods Domain they changed from a secretive organization to a public one.

"Yes, I would like some information, it is all around grade 3."

The elven girl proceeded to leave the counter.

"You can come with me, sir."

James followed her to the second floor, only stopping before a dark purple door with gold accents and the words 'grade 3' on it.

After stepping into the room the door closed behind him, the only thing in the room was a small wooden table with 2 chairs, one of them was being occupied by a seemingly ordinary man, but James knew all too well that there were no ordinary men in the flower of seven sins, the reason why James couldn't feel anything from this man was that he was out of his league.

"sit"

The man said without the slightest bit of an expression, his voice wasn't deep, or loud, but James could feel an awful lot of power coming from his words, after James sat down, the man continued.

"what info do you want?"

Unlike the nice receptionist, this man was extremely direct.

"I want info on the biggest geniuses from the gods Domain the flower of seven sins came from, only the ones that were of age when god's Domain was released in that universe, I want to know everything about their lives before they started playing, I also want info on all medium to big opportunities related to that god's Domain."

The man didn't even question James's intentions and immediately started searching on his interface, around 20 minutes later he looked at James again.

"We have that info for about 50 of the players whit the most potential, and a list of taken opportunities is no problem, but since the info is about a lot of big shots it's gonna cost a lot, 10.000 seven luminaries crystals."

James wasn't shocked by this price in the least, he was asking for personal info about people who were powerhouses in the greater god's Domain, even if that info was outdated, it was going to be pricy.

Without thinking twice, he handed over the payment.

"thank you for the purchase, you can see yourself out."

James didn't think anything of the rude behavior, Assassins were like that a lot of the time, especially the stronger ones

James rented a hotel room with high mana density without wasting any more time, giving him a clearer mind.

He had to think about a lot of things, but most importantly, when he was going to return, he would like to return as early as possible, but the main problem is that he couldn't improve even if he did, only 2 years before gods Domain launched could he come back, that is when the gods' Domain organization set up a branch in their universe, they held some competitions to promote the game, giving away points, whit those points you could buy S-grade Nutrient fluids and life potions, things he desperately needed to improve his brain activity and body, and were impossible to find if not for the god's Domain organization.

James contemplated a lot if he should go back a little earlier to have some time with his parents, they passed away half a year before the god's Domain organization set up shop from old age, but he decided against it, he had a very rough time when his parents past away, but he eventually managed to get past it, he didn't have the time nor energy to deal with that again.

The last thing he needed to do is select people for his team, he might be able to become strong on his own, but gods Domain wasn't a single-player game, out of the 50 people he had info on only 30 were independent and where possible to recruit, and only 20 of those had good characters that would stay loyal to him, 20 might seem low but 20 internal members of their caliber combined with his knowledge were bound to become 1 of the strongest teams in the greater gods Domain.

Now that he had everything sorted out he could start memorizing all the info, the genius's locations and names, the opportunities he didn't already know, and some information about the stock market, he needed money to convince his team after all.

And after 40 hours of hard memorizing, James thought that it was about time.

"ehhhhh…..pffffffff"

After a long breath he started eating the heart, James had expected it to be disgusting, but it didn't taste like anything, and the consistency wasn't that bad either, mostly just like gelatin, but a little thicket, he was so focused on the taste that he almost forgot to think about his destination, when he realized he started thinking about the time he wanted to return to.

The further he got in the football-sized heart the sleepier he got, and after his last bite, he couldn't keep himself awake anymore and let go.
