Chapter 5 - May

Mosinmiloluwa was done with Secondary school and was applying to be admitted into the University when we moved into our house,it was then I realized we were not as rich as I thought we were.It was only a small portion of the entire foundation that was built and it was just laid with blocks and not plastered not to talk of being painted in nice colours.I was too excited to care, all that mattered was that we were in our own house and we were free to do what we wanted to do and the fact that our house was beside a mountain, everything felt surreal and nothing else mattered at that point.Kehinde and I took a special interest in the mountain because it fascinated us,we were always climbing and playing there almost every day.We found it adventurous and the mountain was a very easy one to climb,it was a neat one too so we could sit and even sleep on it.

I was enrolled in a new school, had new neighbors and I didn't find it hard getting admitted or fitting in in my new school,I always know my way around and in no time,I was made the Head girl.Mum continued working even though our new house was quite far from her office so it meant waking up really early to prepare us for school and not get late for work as well.Kehinde was in Senior class 1 and it was at this point Kehinde and I started getting along gradually, she was more mature now and she has been exposed to different people in school because there was a larger population in students in Secondary school compared to Primary.Mosinmiloluwa was always home because he was waiting for the admission list and Dad was just there, leaving home everyday and wasting time touring the whole town doing unnecessary things, talking politics and acting like he had it.The same unemployed man who we all still thought was the one catering for all of us,Mum really tried to cover up for him for so many years so we can still respect him as our Dad.Mum was the one who paid for the land we built our house, she was the one sourcing for the money and kept giving it to Dad who gave those that built and roofed the house. The only thing he did was to go and supervise them once in a while to see how work was going, even his transport fare was also sponsored by Mum.

Mosinmiloluwa got admitted to study Law and that was one of the best news ever,Mum was so happy her son was going to be a Lawyer.I finished Primary school,I had to cut my long hair because I was going to Secondary school and the rule says to grow hair short.I got admitted into the same school as Kehinde and this further made us closer,we went to school together and came back together, she was in Senior class 2 and had a year to go.

Secondary school was the beginning of another adventure for me,I met alot of new students from different schools and upbringing.Students from public and private schools, the cultured and uncultured ones, the courteous and rude ones, neat and dirty ones, reserved and extra loud students. The excitement of finally being in Secondary school didn't allow me to be bothered and of course,I knew I was in safe hands because I had a Sister in the senior class.I remember when a Senior was tried to bully me,I simply told my sister and she confronted her and told her never to bully me anymore.I felt fly and I felt her wings being axed down but I don't care, she messed with the wrong junior and I didn't take advantage of the fact that I had a Sister in Senior class because I was raised to be courteous and respectful.

Kehinde's classmates were always buying things for me,they all loved me because I was chubby and beautiful and they all wanted to make me their school daughter, they were always giving me money to buy stuff for myself as well. And I happen to have a very beautiful handwriting,I love writing notes in class and I even start copying storybooks in my notebook when there was no note to write.Senior class comes with writing of plenty notes especially Biology and Economics because my sister was a science student,so I always help her classmates write their notes because I love to write and I have a beautiful handwriting. And I was also smart enough,I was good with words and I know how to read well,so when I spot an error from the note I was copying from,I ask them to confirm and I learnt new words writing notes.I was writing it for fun,but they were always getting and buying me things in return.I never wrote for Kehinde all through, she never bothered to ask me for once because she was hardworking and never left any note hanging.
