CHAPTER 7:
He needs a proper explanation.
He arrived at the company and found no one has even attended to his sister. This actually made his boiling anger go past the normal boiling point. He glared daggers at the guards nearby.
As if the guard understood what he was thinking, he shrug and said politely “That’s not in in line with our duty sir.”
The technician came with a tape and handed it to him.
“What’s this?” Alexander asked before taking it.
“Surveillance video. Madam asked us to give it to you.” The technician said politely.
“Who is your madam? And how is this related to why am here?” Alexander asked.
“Sir, we’re sorry as for now our madam's identity is supposed to remain confidential. Am so sorry we can’t tell you that. She thought you would be interested to know what happened and why your sister is in this state.” The technician answered.
Mira's face immediately changed, becoming more ugly than it really was. “Alex, am hurting and I need medical attention. You can’t just stand here concentrating on a useless surveillance video!”
Alex tucked the tape on his pocket and helped Mira into the car.
At the hospital, he tried to call Gianna’s old number but it seemed she had changed. It wasn’t going through. He really wasn’t happy with how Mira was disgraced and he would think of crashing Gianna the moment he saw her.
He went back into the car and played the video. His face changed again.
“Then how many times has Mira been molesting my wife when I was away?” Alex frowned even more. “Is this the reason why she requested for divorce? She was really tired? In this case, I should look for her and apologise.”
After her face was bandaged, Mira walked back into the car and realised Alex was extremely cold and the air was frozen.
“Alex, are you angry at Gianna for doing this to me?” Mira paused and asked when Alex started driving without a word.
“Am angry at you for making me come this far when you could just have directly called the guards!” Alex snorted without looking at her.
“Aren’t you my brother? Why should I call the guards?” Mira pouted.
“Really? I feel like strangling you right now! Can you tell me, who really was on the wrong?” Alex asked.
“Alex!” Mira widened her eyes. “She injured my face and you still have the guts to ask me who was on the wrong? Do you still want to be on her side?”
“Mind your words before I injure you and drive you back to the hospital. I will ask you, how many times have you been harassing my wife all this year’s?” Alex asked angrily.
“I didn’t harass her. You think you can get an excuse to get back to that woman? Even dad will not accept it!” Mira pouted.
“I will ask you again Mira, how many times? Don’t try to play with me. I will crush you!” his harsh voice send shivers down her spine.
“What can you do?” Mira swallowed hard and continued being rude.
Alex stopped the car and got out of the car. He then opened the door for Mira.
“Get of my car!” Alex commanded which shocked Mira.
“What? This is a family car. Besides, am injured, you have to drive me home!” Mira said.
“How many family cars does the Solace have? Many. So, call other cars to come pick you up from here!” Alex directly pulled her out. He wanted to vent his anger but seeing how pitiful she was, he couldn’t raise a finger to hurt her.
He then got into the car and closed all door, leaving Mira stranded on the road.
“Alex I can’t walk home... Do you know how many miles are between this hospital and home?” Mira started crying pitifully.
“That’s none of my business!” Alex drove away without looking back.
It was already midday by the time Alex drove slowly back to the villa. He didn’t have the mood to go back there so he had aimlessly drove around town for long before turning and driving home. He needed to prepare for the evening party arranged by the Bardot for their daughter.
Mira wasn’t home yet, but that wasn’t his business anymore. His mother scolded him for long but he just didn’t listen. He walked directly to his bedroom and fell on the bed. He didn’t know how he fell asleep while still in thoughts or how many hours he was asleep. He woke up when he felt soft hands caressing his chest.
“Gianna!” that was the first name that came to his mind and he said it. Although Gianna has never been intimate with him, he had been thinking so much about her recently and hoped they would meet and he would make up for his mistakes.
Victoria frowned. She indeed was sitting on his bed, a place Gianna loved most. Alexander also frowned.
“You don’t love me? You still love her even after divorce?” Victoria pouted.
“You! Why are you sitting on my bed?” Alex looked completely displeased which shocked Victoria? “Since when did you start sitting on my bed?” he wanted to add that place was belonged to Gianna but he just didn’t. “Why are you here?” he asked while pushing her out of his bed. Victoria pouted and stood up.
“It’s thirty minutes to the party. Or have you thought against it?” she asked. She was supposed to go alongside Alex. “You suddenly changed. Even mistreating your own sister over your divorced wife? Alex, what came over you?”
“Ooh...” he jumped out of bed and went to prepare without reply.
When he came back, he entered the car with Victoria without waving goodbye to her mother. He did even know if Mira was back home or not.
