Isabelle retracted her powers, and her aura went back down to Mid Stage Divine Emperor again.
She walked toward Bruce to take a good look at his face.
'Oh my, you're a pretty boy in this life'
Isabelle gently caressed Bruce's face as she laid his head on her lap. If anyone else saw this situation, they would have killed Bruce due to sheer jealousy.
The Phantom Witch is known as one of the four most beautiful goddesses in the universe. After millions of years, no one had managed to enter her eyes except for one person.
Bruce slowly opened his eyes to see a goddess staring at him lovingly. He immediately got up from her lap when he realized what position they were in.
"Big sister, what happened?" Bruce slightly blushed.
"I had a chat with The Monarch while you were unconscious"
"You don't have to worry about me, I'm his friend" Isabelle smiled beautifully. Her demeanor greatly contrasted with her previous one.
"I see…" Bruce nodded after thinking for some time.
"Shall we fight now?" Bruce asked Isabelle who was walking toward him.
Truth be told, he wasn't keen on fighting her because she was an ally of the Monarch, and she was so beautiful that it was hard to breathe in her presence.
"Bruce, you almost have no chance against me since I am one cultivation realm higher than you" Isabelle said in a seductive tone.
"How about I teach you about rune magic and we'll battle after that?"
"That sounds terrific" Bruce agreed immediately.
Being taught by one of the universe's strongest in rune magic has always been one of his dreams. The Monarch was simply too lazy to teach him.
Isabelle couldn't help but smiled when she saw Bruce excitedly wanting to learn from her. The boy was just too cute.
"So, what do you know about rune magic?" To teach Bruce properly, Isabelle needed to know his current proficiency in the topic.
Bruce began to explain what the Monarch taught him and his own understanding of rune magic. He even told her about his previous battle with the Flame Conqueror.
"You have a solid fundamental in rune magic, but there's so much more that you don't know about it" Isabelle was pleasantly surprised to learn that Bruce managed to reach the master level of rune magic without much help from anyone.
"First, you need to know that your concentration is the most important thing when it comes to creating powerful runes"
Isabelle opened her palm, and a humongous rune was created above the palace.
"You see, without concentration, you will not be able to create a rune similar to mine"
Isabelle snapped her fingers, and the rune flew on top of the sky and exploded. Causing the sky to clear up.
"Sometimes, you must also maintain the rune for defensive purposes"
"Without concentration, your runes would be broken in seconds making them useless"
"Understand?"
Bruce nodded while writing down notes. Isabelle really wanted to snuggle him in her arms, but there was no time for that.
"How do I improve my concentration?" Bruce thought his concentration was already quite good.
"Simple, you need to get rid of distractions as you conjure the runes"
"There are simply too many distractions in the world"
"Sounds of all living things, worries about the future, regret from the past, and so on"
"Everything in those categories is a distraction"
"You need to have an unwavering heart and soul to create and become the most powerful runemaster"
Bruce understood Isabelle's teachings and nodded. His mind was indeed muddled with unnecessary thoughts.
"Remember this Bruce, this also applies to battles as well"
"Scumbags will always try to distract you. Only when you get rid of all distractions will you make the best judgment"
"I understand, big sister" Bruce smiled.
"Good, now I want you to conjure as many runes as you can while dodging my attacks" Isabelle's tone no longer sounded warm.
"Will I die if I get hit?" Bruce nervously asked.
"You'll be half dead" Isabelle smiled but the smile wasn't a smile.
Bruce gulped and did as he was told.
He conjured up about 12 runes in the air and tried his best to maintain the runes as Isabelle blasted him with her arcane powers.
"This is unfair…" Bruce complained as countless holes were in his body.
"No time to rest, get up!" Isabelle healed Bruce with her magic and the lesson began once again.
Isabelle's heart was sliced to pieces every time she put a hole in him, but this was for his own good. Bruce needed to learn properly how to have a perfect concentration. Otherwise, he would be defeated by the hands of that man.
One year later…
"hahaha, I did it!" Bruce jumped around like a maniac.
He finally succeeded in maintaining all his runes while Isabelle shot at him for 24 hours. The difficulties lie in dodging her random shots and maintaining the runes.
'As expected, you managed to learn something that people would never be able to learn in their entire lifetime' Isabelle was happy that Bruce was still a monster after all this time.
"Don't be too happy Bruce, the lesson is not over yet" Isabelle called out to the idiot jumping around the palace.
"Huh?" Bruce was confused. He thought that the lessons would end once he managed to master his concentration.
"For the last lesson, you'll need to double the size of your runes to double their powers"
"While dodging attacks from me"
"No way in hell I'm doing that!" Bruce started to make a run for it.
"You don't have a choice" Isabelle blocked the entrance and dragged Bruce as he wailed across the floor.
"Bruce, I'm doing this for your own good" Isabelle looked at him tenderly.
"Can I get a hug before we start?" Bruce wanted to hug the goddess before getting tortured again.
"How can I say no to that face?" Isabelle nodded.
Bruce hugged Isabelle tightly for 30 minutes before she pushed him away. The brat was clearly taking advantage of her!
Isabelle didn't mind but she wanted to be intimate with Bruce after he regains all his original memories.
"Let's start"
2 years later, Bruce finally finished the training with Isabelle. The two had greatly enjoyed each other's company. Isabelle found Bruce to be quite lovable and mischievous while Bruce just liked hanging out with the goddess.
"Bruce, you should be able to defeat this version of me now" Isabelle was once again surprised by Bruce's learning speed.
She expected him to take at least 20 years to increase his proficiency to grandmaster, but he managed to do it in 3 years total!
"Thank you, so much big sister!" Bruce let out a sigh as he lay down on the ground. The non-stop training for the past 3 years took a huge toll on his body.
"Before we start the final battle, could you tell me where you were located before moving to the trial?" Isabelle sneakily asked for Bruce's current address.
"Oh, I was in the Nether Realm" Bruce replied nonchalantly like it was normal.
"WHAT!" Isabelle yelled.
"Did you already die?"
"Who killed you?"
"Did anyone hurt you in the Nether Realm?"
Isabelle began to ask billions of questions and caused Bruce to panic.
"Big sister, it's not like that"
Bruce began to explain to Isabelle why he traveled to the Nether Realm.
"I see, so you want to grow stronger so The Monarch suggested you go to the Nether Realm" Isabelle couldn't help but want to smack The Monarch on the head.
What kind of maniac throws a little kid into the Nether Realm for training?
"So, this Lisa is quite important to you huh?" Isabelle also noticed that Bruce was infatuated with a girl named Lisa. She didn't like that one bit.
"Yup, she's the most important woman in my heart. She had been taking care of me ever since I was young" Bruce honestly told Isabelle everything without knowing that he was digging a grave for himself.
"Do you have any other important female in your life?" A dark emotion slowly rose in Isabelle's heart.
"Yup, I have Sophia who recently became my life companion. I also have Meredith who is my first girlfriend" Bruce happily chatted without realizing that Isabelle's face had turned deadly cold.
"Erghh is it me or is it chilly around here now" Bruce started to shiver.
"Bruce, why are you such a playboy?" Isabelle asked him in a deadly tone.
"What do you mean? I love all of them wholeheartedly" Bruce was confused as to why Isabelle was being horrifying.
'Such a drastic difference from the previous you who only gave his heart to one person'
"Big sister, are you jealous?" Bruce sealed his fate even without knowing it.
