I silently watched Bobby as he played with Danilos chubby little hands as a child nursery song played through the speakers of the car. Even though he was happily singing along, the mood in the car had changed so drastically I could not tell if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
Maybe the road seemed like a lot to him, I knew Bobby hated anything that had a giant price tag to it but for me it was something I felt compelled to do. I knew one day Bobby would be able to drive again but I did not think I could handle him being on that road ever again.
I knew I had dealt with the problem that had made the whole accident happen in the first place but that did not mean I could control the panic attacks he would sometimes get. At the time I just wanted to protect him in any way I could.
